I had my BIG ultrasound today! We didn't find out the sex (we had the tech seal the results in an envelope for my baby shower), but we know that he was 95% sure of what he put in there! I'm SO excited for May!!! Other than that, all is well. Baby is just over 12 oz and the heart and brain look great. The only problem was that it arched it's back and refused to move so we couldn't get a measurement of behind the head. so we'll have to go back in a few weeks. But, that's okay. My baby is getting quite used to the ultrasound machine (this was our fifth!)

We had our entire wedding outside, but what we did was we ate dinner, then we cut the cake (while the last of the people were finishing... but I'm sure you could do this at the poolside so it's more private), and then after we cut the cake my dad took the microphone and started the speech parade. It woked out quite well.

It really depends on what type of a book your photographer is going to offer. If it's just a solid cover, then it would need to be embossed, so that stinks. If it's a book with a picture window, then it would say the words on the picture (your photographer should be able to do this quite easily). And then there are some books that have a "wrap" cover where the entire cover is a photo, in which case the photographer simply adds the text to the photo before printing it. There is a picture of Sarah's BD book cover in this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4617

Welcome to the forum Stephanie! The Tulum area of the Riviera Maya is just beautiful!!! I hope you have a great wedding!!!

Welcome to the forum!! 90 people is an amazing number for a destination wedding!! That will be so exciting! You will basically have the run of both locations, huh?

Welcome!!! I'm not very familiar with Key West, but I'll try to help in any way that I can. Quote: Originally Posted by laho A. So I simply asked for the readings and then I asked if I could add my own touches. So I had family friends do readings and a sand ceremony. Then I knew that the ceremony would be nice. As for rejecting someone because of their hair cut... that makes me giggle, but I'd probably do the same thing!!! B. Photographer- I have a ton a questions here. I'm having a sunset ceremony (KW is known for its amazing sunsets) and I really want the pictures to be amazing, I don't want to skimp on a photog b/c it's not like you get a do over of your vows if the pictures aren’t great. I've looked at some websites where the photogs have really amazing portfolios but, they charge a ton for packages. This is always tough. Alyssa's photographers were AMAZING and from Florida, but I think they are from northern Florida. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32118 it still might be worth looking into. Otherwise, if you have photographers that you love their work, ask them if they'll travel. Some photographers will travel for the cost of accomodations/airfare. Others will charge just a small fee. It's very possible you could get your dream photographer with all weekend coverage for a fraction of the cost -Do I really need an hour of coverage of me getting my hair and make-up done? Is this the norm? I love these photos. I think they really capture the emotion leading up to the ceremony. It's also a fun time with your bridesmaids/mother and I think that's special to capture. -From the ceremony we will be going to a restaurant for dinner, do I really need pictures of people sitting and eating? Not necessarily, however will there be toasts? Most people give toasts during dinner... or even just photojournalist style photos of you having a good time with your family and friends. -From dinner we will be going to a bed and breakfast we rented out where a lot of my family will be staying. It has a lovely garden with a nice pool, this is where I want to have the cake and toasts. It will be pretty casual (self serve bar, play list programmed on ipod) , I would really like some pictures of this time but is it worth it to pay a photog for all those hours? Not necessarily ALL the hours, but you will definitely want professional photos from this portion of the evening. -I know they have those disposable wedding cameras you can leave around but, some of my family are really good photogs and have really nice digital cameras (better for quality, editing, sharing etc.) Is it way too tacky to ask them to bring their cameras and get some shots? your family and friends will take photos no matter what... but I would not rely on them to be your photographers. The advanced editing, the dedication to getting the perfect shot, and also the ability to capture the entire group is really priceless. C. Flowers -How do you know they will deliver what they promise? That your getting the best quality for the price? You dont! But then again, you don't know that even when you have a wedding at your home town. My sister had her wedding right here in Wisconsin and her flowers were HORRIBLE. My wedding was in Mexico where i had no control over quality, but they were amazing!! The best advice I can give is go with a floral company who you trust and have good communications through, and hope for the best. I hope that helps a little.

Really want to do a TTD session!!!
TATrisha replied to Cindy&London's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
Hola! I did my trash the dress session on a public beach in Tulum. It's just south of the Tulum Ruins, so you can imagine how beautiful the water was. Plus, we went right away in the morning so the beach was empty. It was awesome. I will definitely go back there and I highly recommend it! -
yeah, I'm 19 weeks along. As for the ticker... it freaks me out! I panic when I see how much longer I have to go!!

I'm really excited for Monday, however we will be keeping the sex a secret until my baby shower. The technician will simply tell us if she can tell what it is, and then she'll seal the results in an envelope. Then we'll open it with all of our family and friends at my shower. I'm REALLY excited for that... however going another two months is going to be brutal!! Cute bump, by the way! I cannot believe how great you look! Here is my bump, but I think this was at 17 weeks...

Well, I'm 19 weeks now and I feel perfect. That's kind of scary. I guess being sick through week 17 was kind of nice because at least i knew everything was going well. Now i just freak out! Every once in a while I think I feel the baby, so hopefully that will start to become more obvious. otherwise we have our big ultrasound on Monday!

What are the Random Things Your FI/DH put his foot down about**
TATrisha replied to Erika J's topic in Random Thoughts
With my husband it was two things: the STDs had to be PERFECT, corners cut just right and the design had to be flawless. That was amusing... for like the first 30 seconds! LOL And the second one was his shoes! I wanted everyone barefoot for the wedding and he was NOT about to do that. So instead he bought all the GM's matching flip flops so at least they all still looked cute. -
Cocktail Hour - How Long??
TATrisha replied to YaelM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Ours was an hour and a half, and that worked out very nicely. I had the mariachi band play at the beginning (for 45 minutes) and then near the end of their set the bridal party showed up from taking pictures. So we were still able to have some drinks and mingle with the guests before going to dinner. That was very nice. Plus, if people know what time dinner is, they don't necessarily have to show up for the whole two hours. -
I actually agree. I feel bad even posting my personalized responses because of my signature, however I hope people look at my stats and realize that I was first a destination bride and only recently became a "vendor." I honestly respond to posts with the intention of making people feel welcomed (like how I felt 2 years ago when I first started) or to answer questions. I think that's the way it should be.
