  1. The wedding package includes a meal up to 30 I believe. It's at the ala cart restaurant and it doesn't cost extra. Which restaurant depends on which resort you are staying in. Then you will choose the menu item that you want served and they will block off a section of the restaurant for you. After that, most people go to the hacienda or to the lobby bars for live music and dancing. That way, it doesn't cost you any extra!
  2. I actually was proposed to DURING our engagement shoot (well, I didn't realize it was a photo shoot until after the ring... but still) and so I felt SUPER awkward! It was crazy because I was SO happy and I just wanted to kiss my husband and take a second to let it all soak in, but we had to take pictures. So it was weird. However, I must say that I love the photos because I truly look SO happy in them. It's a genuine smile. My best advice, just have fun. The photos I take where couples are having fun and being themselves are by far better than any "staged" photo that I set up. So just goof off and make fun of yourselves for being so lovey dovey for the day. The pictures will end up much better for it. Have a great time!

    Hello!

Welcome Cassie! I actually joined the forum as a girlfriend too... and six months later I was engaged! It was very exciting, and honestly one of the best things I could have done! It allowed me to be "mostly" calm during the planning stages because I was a part of this awesome forum for so long before that I had everything all picked out! Best wishes and I hope you get the ring soon!
  4. Welcome to the forum Andrea! Congratulations on your engagement!! Good story to go with it? You should post it. I love reading those! As for your wedding, good luck choosing a destination. This website should help you narrow things down. I got married in the Riviera Maya almost a year ago and I LOVED it!! I'm sure you will too!
  5. I think they do. I would contact your travel agent. it's been almost a year since we went, so I really don't recall completely. For all I know, kids might stay free at the resort.
  6. Welcome T&P! Your wedding is coming up so soon! You must be so excited!!! Well, congratulations and I hope you find a lot of useful information on this site!
  7. The kids at my wedding did not, however I needed a minimum of 35 for my private reception, and they counted towards that 35, so maybe that's why? As for at the resort, I'm pretty sure their room was a little bit cheaper.

  9. Heather, I think it's wonderful that you have finally decided to post an honest review on this photographer. I think it's absolutely terrible that a vendor would put added stress on you. You might as well have the stress of photographing your own wedding then. That's ridiculous. I'm very glad that you switched photographers, and I think that money lost will be considered money well spent to get out of that situation. Again, I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but thank you SO much for being so honest and up front for other BDW brides. That is, after all, what we are all here for... advice and information.
  10. Oh wow! that dress looks SO beautiful on you! And it fits you so perfectly!!!

    I'm new

Hi Erin! Welcome to the forum! The warnings are more for boarder towns, so your two destinations should be perfectly fine, and just beautiful for a wedding. Happy planning!
  13. Yup, I highly recommend dafont.com. It's Super easy to use and the font choices are amazing. I used the hibiscus on all of my wedding items and it turned out great. The nice part about using a font instead of clip art is that you can resize it without losing quality, and you can change it to whatever colors you want. Good luck
  14. Wow, that's stressful... which of course will also cause your period to be late. I would just go buy a test and ease your mind. I'm sure you are not pregnant and that you are just adjusting to the pill, but seeing that negative will certainly make you feel better. Good luck.
  15. Oh this is a fun thread! lets see... a potluck wedding. that one was interesting. I personally also vowed I would never wear a crazy head piece crown thingy.
  16. Welcome to the forum! There is a great budget thread (just type it in on the search bar at the top) and go through that looking at other Cabo weddings. That should help you feel at ease about your budget. Good luck
  17. AHH! Hi! Okay, sorry for the little freak out, but you are getting married on my one year anniversary at ALMOST the same resort! We got married at the Akumal side. None the less, that's exciting! I loved my wedding SO much. I hope you love yours too!

    Newbie

Hi Tina! I was married at the Gran Bahia in Riviera Maya and I've heard wonderful things about their property in DR. Let us know if we can help with anything! Best wishes!

    Hello!

Welcome Sarah! The DR is a gorgeous place, not only to vacation but for a wedding. Which resort have you chosen?

    Brand New

Welcome to the forum! We were all at that VERY beginning stage at some point, so hopefully this website will help you out. All three places you have listed are very popular for weddings, and produce gorgeous weddings at that!! The PRIVATE sit down dinner will definitely typically cost you more. Even if you are at an all inclusive. This is because you are paying for the individualized attention. The resort has to hire more staff and typically open up an area of the resort which would be closed, or block it off from the rest of their guests. As for a resort recommendation, that's hard! You'll need to sit down with your FI and look at your budget and your list of needs. That should help narrow down the list. Good luck!
  21. Welcome to the forum Amy! This forum actually started out as a Cabo only forum... so there are SO many threads about Cabo weddings. You should definitely be able to find what you are looking for! Best wishes!
  22. Oh those are such fun and vivid photos! Aren't you so glad you did a TTD? The pictures just look amazing!!
  23. Well, we definitely stayed longer before our wedding and we didn't think anything of it. BUT, we wanted our "honeymoon" to be with family and friends. We arrived in Mexico on a Monday. Got married on Friday and then we left Mexico on Monday.
  24. First of all, you are gorgeous, so I don't know how you could ever get bad pictures... but these are really beautiful! Your wedding day looked so emotional and amazing and it's so awesome to see that displayed through the photos. It truly is storybook photography. that's so awesome!
  25. Welcome to the forum. I actually haven't heard of a Dreams Riviera Maya. Very interesting. Where will it be located in comparison to Dreams Tulum?
