  1. It was possible that I was going to photograph a wedding in Mexico this past weekend, I am 30 weeks pregnant. I talked with my doctor and she was perfectly fine with it. At 32 or 34 weeks the airlines won't let you fly... however 6 months pregnant should not be a big deal at all!! Like I said, I'm 30 weeks and I would be willing to go right now. The hospitals in the Riviera Maya are actually rated better than the USA, specifically Playa Del Carmen, so even if, god forbid, something were to happen, she should be okay. As for the parties and everything before the wedding, that shouldn't be a problem in the least. The fact that she can't drink shouldn't be a big deal. I mean, I don't drink to begin with, so does that mean that I wouldn't be able to go to a bachelorette party? Nope. And I still have fun. I think it's really important that you be a good friend and be supportive of her. If you love her enough to make her your MOH then she is the best friend you have in the world. Why would you want her to put her family on hold for that? As for waiting 6 more months to TTC... oh yes, it is a big deal! LOL. you'll understand more when you start trying to have a family, but when you finally make the decision to start trying it's a huge occasion. I guess it's kind of like waiting another 6 months to get engaged... or married. Especially waiting that extra 6 months, not because it makes more sense for you and your FI... but because someone else wants you to. Plus, months of preperation go into TTC. You should be on prenatals for 2 months in advance, be off of birth control for a few months, timing and temping and writing down symptoms so you know WHEN you can try. It's a very complicated process. And yes, some people are VERY lucky and get pregnant right away, however that's not usually the case. And for me, I couldn't wait 6 months. There were other things in my husband and mine lives which required us to start trying when we did. Such things as health insurance coverage, day care openings, huge work projects, and honestly... time of year! Being from the midwest, having a baby in July versus December was HUGE for me. I, myself, was a January baby so I wanted my children to have a season where they could actually do something instead of watching snow fall on their birthday. Wow, that was a novel. Sorry. But in conclusion, I would celebrate this huge milestone in her life, like she is planning on celebrating yours rather than dampering her excitement.
  2. Best Advice: Have fun with it! Just relax, remember that the photographer does this kind of thing all the time so there is no need to be worried or embarrassed. Just have a GREAT time and it'll show in the photos!
  3. BEAUTIFUL photos!! You guys look so adorable and in love! I cannot wait to see your wedding photos!
  4. Alright... for those of you who did not receive the Babies R Us coupons, they are online... they are just sometimes tricky to find! Babies"R"Us And if that doesn't work, go to the website. Click on store locators. On the left hand side it'll say Toys R Us sales or something like that. Click that. Then when the Toys R Us sales pop up on the right hand side it'll say "Shop Babies R US Special Offers" Click that. Then you can print the coupons. Happy shopping!
  5. Where in Germany will you be? I agree that heidelburg is awesome... but I traveled around a large portion of Germany/Austria, so depending on where you are going I can suggest some different areas...
  6. I was engaged for 8 months, however I had almost everything planned before then so I really didn't do much during the 8 months... so I would say that your first date choice of a year away should be more than enough.
  7. Welcome Brianna!! I got married there in April of 2008 and I LOVED it!! If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask. i absolutely love talking about my wedding and my experience! Happy planning!
  8. OO, this is fun! I love when the bridesmaids all look just a little different. I think it looks great in photos. I really like the style of the first and the second... how fun!
  9. I loved Paula's dancing... I think she's a great choreographer... but I really hated how obvious it was that she was lip synching. That sucked. Especially because she was breathing so heavily after the performace (well duh, did you see that chick dance?). But it made it that much MORE obvious! As for today... today is Danny Gokey day here in Milwaukee! it's ridiculous!! So fun and exciting! Sadly, i'm at work... yeah, that sucks. But it's still fun to listen to everything and watch it on TV!
  10. Yup, I was just going to mention the Bahamas cruise! I'm taking it in March or April of next year and it docks over night. There are some (Carnival) which dock overnight in nassau and some in Freeport. During the time period I'm looking at it's about 300-400 pp for an inside cabin and around 350-450 for a window cabin. Balcony cabins are around 500. Most of the cruises are 3-5 nights as well. Good luck!

  12. Welcome to the forum! I too, have never been to the Bahamas so I can't comment much on the winds, but hopefully it won't be too bad. I am going in spring of 2010, though and I'm SO excited!!! happy planning!
  13. Yup, tell him you are doing a spa day... or last time we had excuses such as: Bridal dress shopping Trial hair/makeup day Friend's bridal shower
  14. True statement Tiffany! We actually booked the hotel yesterday, so you will be hearing further details from either Tammy or myself within the next day or so!!
  15. Hopefully your photographer will be able to get rid of pimples in post processing, so that shouldn't be a problem at all. Just don't worry about it during the shoot and it'll get taken care of later. Even if they can't, I'll do it for you... but I'm sure they will do it. As for when to get them taken, I always say between 34-37 weeks. You don't want to go TOO close to your due date because you start to swell pretty badly and it's so hard to move around. But, I've seen a bunch of people have them done earlier. Mine will be RIGHT at 34 weeks because that's the only time I could arrange Tammy's travel to get here, but honestly, I could probably get them done today and it's quite obvious that I'm pregnant. If Tammy would have been able to be here this weekend only (not the case, she'll be in CA... lucky!!), I totally would have done them anyways.
  16. Oh wow! he really did put a lot of thought and planning into that didn't he? And the 30 roses, SO cute! Awesome story!
  17. Oh that is adorable! I love how he incorporated the baby!! So sweet!
  18. Oh i'm so excited to hear that you are doing this!!! The lovely TammyB is actually coming to Wisconsin to do mine at the end of this month and I am THRILLED! I too am struggling with what to wear. I know what will photograph well and what I WANT to wear, but spending the money on maternity clothes seems silly, so it's a matter of finding what i have which will look great. The biggest thing that I have found with doing maternity photos for other clients is that tight fitting clothes works great. Blousy shirts, although beautiful, doesn't really show the true Bump and it might just make you look larger, KWIM? Really, just have fun with it. Be open to ideas your photographer has. You might not be 100% comfortable in your body right now, but trust me, it's beautiful and you will be SO grateful to have these photos down the road.
  19. Welcome Tracey!!! I love how this forum is getting more and more "other" locations like Bermuda!! It started as just a Cabo forum and has now grown to this huge wealth of knowledge on all areas! I sure hope you find all kinds of information and help to plan your perfect wedding! Best wishes!
  20. Hi Kate!! I LOVE Vegas! make sure you say hi to the kitties at the MGM for me! Happy planning!
  21. Of course... since I ordered them! They came from Husar's House of Fine Diamonds in West Bend Wisconsin... but they are Swarovski necklaces.
  22. I wanted to stop... but I just couldn't! Those were freakin' hilarious!!
  23. Welcome Amanda! Coming from Chicago it must have been REALLY cold if you thought it was cold!!! Yup here we always think 60 is warm by the time spring comes around! I would say to check the reviews of some brides that have gotten married recently. I don't think March is typically cold. I got married in early April and it was HOT (but SO wonderful!).
