    help!!!

Welcome Mae! I completely agree with Todd. Not only is this forum filled with wonderful reviews of weddings which should help you pick and choose who you are looking for, but it's also packed with amazing vendors who have definitely proven they are great! Good luck!
  2. Hey Nina, Maybe try using the MAC spray on top of your makeup stuff. It really helped keep mine from rubbing off on my husband's white shirt (or my dress while I was putting it on!). It also kept my makeup on all day throughout the hot hot sun. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/...PRODUCT_ID=388
  3. Welcome Lindsey! You are getting married on my birthday!!! Great day, great day!
  4. Welcome Jill and Jim!! The Tulum area is breath taking, so I would vote for there! Best wishes!
  5. Welcome!! I got married at the GBP Akumal, and I LOVED it!!! So if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. As for the reception by the pool... I had one. AMAZING! I would HIGHLY recommend it. I actually had my entire dinner out there, so the cost per person for that took care of the set up costs and the drink costs. I'm pretty positive that if you choose to only do drinks out by the pool, the price still includes a small set up. The DJ was the resort DJ and he was $150 an hour. I know a lot of brides are starting to bring in an outside vendor, however and he too is $150 an hour. As for photography, I hated the resort photographer so I flew my own photographer in. For $2500 I got three full days of coverage, all the edited pictures on a disc, and amazing pictures which capture all of our special memories. I would HIGHLY recommend going that route. Best of luck and please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
  6. Welcome Kristine!! I too am from Wisconsin and I ended up at the Gran Bahia Principe in Riviera Maya. Best decision ever!!! We stayed in the Akumal section, so it was beach front. VERY kid friendly (I had two girls under two along... the staff was amazing, the pools were great, awesome activities for them). BEAUTIFUL pools. Our favorites were the activity pool because it was less crowded and had a great shallow area for the kids. And then the main pool because of the swim up bar location. There is actually even a steak house called Arlequin there. When we went it was between $950 and $1700 a person depending on room category and length of stay. Oh, and we flew out of Chicago instead of Milwaukee because we wanted a direct flight. Best luck and if you need any thing don't hesitate to ask!
  7. Most packages do include a reception in the ala carte restaurants... but it's not private in any way and it's the same food that would be served in that restaurant anyways, that's why you have to pay above and beyond the package price.
  8. Oh Summer, what a terrible weekend! I hope that everything calms down now and your mother backs off! Best wishes!!
  9. Okay... so I'm not getting married, but TammyB and I will be there and we'd love to be a part of the meet up! Natasha & Grant, November 6-13m wedding date 9th Tiffany & Mario, November 11th-20th, wedding date the 14th Tlseege & TammyB, November 13th-16th! Ashley & Brendan, November 14th-21st, wedding date the 18th
  10. It is in the basement... but it really just feels like any normal hotel reception hall. Most of those don't have windows either. It's still bright and would be very nice if need be.
  11. Angel you look AMAZING! So beautiful!! Bisha... you are a lucky little brat! LOL. I hope I have that same luck!! For my weekly news update, I had my maternity photos taken by our very own TammyB of Tammy B Photography!! OMG, I LOVE them! She posted a little teaser if anyone is interested. Tammy B Photography - They are on her blog.
  12. As a photographer I quite regularly blog stalk other photographers. Not sure why, but I love it. Great inspiration and it's always fun to see what others are doing. Anyway, one of my favorite photographers recently shot a wedding where the bride had on a SUPER cute bride t-shirt. It was like none I'd ever really seen before. Turns out it's a new Etsy store from the WeddingChicks. I thought I'd link it here since they look pretty awesome and you ladies might be interested. weddingchicks on Etsy - wc couture brought to you by the wedding chicks Have a great day!
  13. yeah, working out didn't work out so well for me either. I was really sick through 22 weeks and if I walked or did the eliptical for even 20 minutes I'd vomit. So... yeah, that stopped. Now that I feel better (or can at least control the vomitting) it's REALLY hard to get back into it. I'm extremely winded after just walking five feet! It's ridiculous what carrying around an extra 30 pounds will do to you! Plus, you are already breathing twice as hard to produce the extra oxygen needed for the baby... so if you aren't working out from the start, it's just too much. So, just keep going with your routine and hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who isn't sick or told they can't do any activity until 12 weeks and you'll be good to go!
  14. Yup, you can use the snorkel gear for an hour free every day, or you can rent it. When we were there it was never a red flag... but i had heard of the same type of situation occuring.
  15. I actually really like the new dress and definitely don't think it'd be a what the heck kind of dress. I think it's beautiful and it's actually more flattering on you, IMO.
  16. I really love the back on number one, but I think it's probably a good idea to keep looking since none of them called to you!
  17. I think you'll find that people will surprise you... and obviously the mom's too. Everyone loves going on vacation, so if people can afford it, they'll be there. Send those STDs out!
  18. The Spa... We did manis/pedis/makeup/hair there. Manis... decent. Pedis... wouldn't do again. I would have just gotten it done here at home first Makeup... I thought it was really good... HOWEVER bring your own eye liner and mascara. That was nasty! Hair... BRING PHOTOS! But, with that said, we all loved our hair styles. Paloma is definitely who you want to book with. We had much better luck having our travel agent book straight with her. She responded faster, probably because we looked like we were seriously interested?
  19. I can't believe it's time for your wedding!! Have an amazing time and I can't wait to hear all about it when you return! Best wishes Tina!
  20. Welcome to the forum!!! I'm from Wisconsin too. Florida in April sounds lovely!! As for which place is better, that's a tough choice! Good luck with that! But I love the sound of your reception. Very laid back, low key, with just the people you love around you. Very nice!!
  21. See my answers... Quote: Originally Posted by Jananaz have a great time heidi! well... it's less than 3 months til our big day now. is this when i should be hearing from yuritizia? Arlequin we never got to. It's not one of the wedding choices though. The one that overlooks the activity pool is though... but I forget the name of it. We ate at the italian one. It was good.
  22. Congratulations Bisha!!!! That's so awesome!!! Gavin is SO adorable! I can't wait to hear more and see more photos! As for me, we found out we are having... A GIRL!!! And don't worry Gemini, we don't have names picked out either, and I'm 2 weeks ahead of you Now that we know it's a girl we'll start working on it, but it's hard! We too have the middle name, but nothing for the first name. Not even some that we "kind of" like. It's really hard.
  23. I personally like Giant, but I agree with Tammy. You need to go to a store and get properly fitted and equipped with the bike that's right for your riding needs.
