  1. Yippee! Tammy and I are so excited to offer some more boudoir sessions! We really have a lot of fun doing these and it's a very relaxed atmosphere. Hope to hear from you all soon!!
  2. I think some of the questions that I asked before choosing my resort were: * Can I have a beach wedding (replace beach with gazebo, church, garden... whatever you want) * Can I have a private Reception? How much per person extra is it? Can it be outdoors? Can I have a DJ? How long can I play music for? Can I have a custom cake? * Are children allowed? * Can I bring in my own vendors for photography/makeup/hair/cake/dj services, etc * Do you offer group rates? Questions like that will start to get you down the right path. Good luck!
  3. Hi Kirsten!! I'm from Wisconsin too!!!! I chose to have my wedding in Riviera Maya in April, and let me tell you, escaping the freezing cold frozen tundra was exactly what all of our guests needed! it was amazing! let me know if you have any questions! Best wishes!
  4. Welcome to the forum! I've sailed multiple times with Carnival, and my best suggestion for you is to book a wedding at one of the ports of call. That will keep costs down. My next suggestion is to maybe try Welcome to ShoreTrips® - Your Guide to Shore Excursions. This is the website where I plan all of my cruise shore excursions... and they have a bunch of wedding options. Here are some examples: ocho rios: $830 Welcome to ShoreTrips® - WEDDING...JUST THE TWO OF US This Simple Ceremony includes: • Marriage License • Marriage Officiant • All legal processing of documents • Certified marriage certificate • On site wedding coordinator • Beach Wedding Location for Ceremony • Conch Shell Floral Heart in Sand for Beach Ceremony • Complimentary Souvenir Keepsake • Round trip transfers from the pier or hotel for the bride & groom • Witnesses, if needed • All Taxes & Service Charges Or for slightly more $1100: Welcome to ShoreTrips® - WEDDING...SIMPLE WEDDING IN PARADISE On St. Thomas $660: Welcome to ShoreTrips® - WEDDING...SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL WEDDING IN ST. THOMAS Grand Cayman $530: Welcome to ShoreTrips® - WEDDING... A SIMPLY PRETTY BEACH CEREMONY So it looks like Grand Cayman would be your best bet. Which, I'm pretty sure is one of Carnival's cheapest cruises (but very nice... been on it twice!) and the Caymans are breath takingly gorgeous, so you'd still have a fantastic wedding!
  5. Congratulations Marie!!! That's so very exciting! And trust me, the time is going to FLY by!!
  6. I actually wore a swimming suit bottom. I didn't really want the feeling of wet undies... plus I didn't want to risk the color bleeding into the dress. So if you can find a nude swimming suit bottom, I'd go for that. Otherwise a white one.
  7. Congratulations! All of the Hawaii weddings that I've seen have been breathtaking, so I think you made a great choice! So, welcome, congratulations, and happy planning!
  8. We had that big of a gap too! I have NO idea what the guests did, because we filled up that time with photography! But, the ceremony was 30 minutes, and then another 30 minutes to take group shots. And do the LARGE group shot with everyone who attended the wedding. Then I think everyone went and cleaned up and cooled down a little. Then I had a 2 hour cocktail hour. I hired live musicians so that it wasn't just people sitting around drinking. They seemed to enjoy that. Good luck!

  10. These are really beautiful! i can't wait to hear what your guests have to say about them! I bet they are blown away!!!
  11. Welcome Kristin! Best wishes with your wedding planning! February will be here before you know it!
  12. Welcome to the forum!! What cruise line will you be taking? I'm actually currently in the process of booking a Carnival cruise that same week to the Bahamas! I'm so excited!!! I can't wait to hear more of your plans!! Congratulations and Best Wishes!
  13. Sounds like you already know your resort! Now you get to plan the fun stuff! Did you already reserve your date? Either way, congratulations!!!
  14. Congratulations on settling on a location and date! That's the hardest part!! Good luck with the fun stuff!! Best wishes
  15. We did ours on the public beach, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be allowed. Very interesting...
  16. hi ladies! Tammy B and I just did a photo shoot in Chicago and we always bring along our own makeup artist. This time I decided to ask her about the makeup that she uses. She said that for makeup to be worn while photographed in daylight or with a flash, it is VERY important that you don't use mineral makeup or makeup with too much sunscreen in it. Both of these types of foundations have reflective properties which will make your face look shiny in photos. Yes, it looks gorgeous in real life, but it does NOT usually translate well to photos. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

We'll have it recorded before we go (luckily I've got a friend with the equipment to do it!) so he doesn't have to risk bringin his guitar. Hoping between the song (which will be a surprise to our guests) and our good friends ceremony (he's going to officiate and has been creative liscence), there will be enough humor infused in the event to keep me from being a bawling mess! lol My husband totally has a "pump up" song too! And we used it at our wedding. I played it as the guests were being seated so that he'd get all pumped up before he walked down the aisle. It was a surprise to him. It was Elvis Burning Love. Sadly, he was so nervous he didn't even notice! LOL!! My guests did though, and they enjoyed it. As for your first dance, why does it have to be slow? if that's your song, then use it! That's what I say anyways.
  18. I'm totally a registry stalker! I was really bad when I had my daughter too. I swear they should ban my IP address from those things! But, don't be disheartened. Nobody wants to bring a gift to your destination, so maybe more people will shop when it gets closer to your AHR?
  19. Welcome to the forum! Pro of T&C... BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! As for cons, sorry, I don't have any!
  20. Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you were able to get a bunch of quick responses to your question and I hope that your site visit really confirms your choice! Best wishes!
  21. Welcome to the forum! And congratulations on being able to finally set a date! The new Dreams resort should be really beautiful and I can't wait to see the first pictures from a wedding there!!!
  22. I'm so glad that you like them Darcy! You were a lot of fun to edit! You looked SO gorgeous!! Oh yes, and Katie is wondering if she could use some of your pictures for her advertising. Your eyes looked AMAZING!!! Okay... you in general looked amazing!!!
  23. I will give you my perspective as a photographer. Number one, thanks for feeding us! No, really... that's needed! Number two, any meal will typically do. some venues offer vendor meals, some kids meals... anything. As far as seating, I prefer to be near the front and on an aisle. That way I can easily take pictures near my seat and get up and move about without disturbing others. However I like to be seated very near the couple (but to the side) because if something sneaks up I can quickly grab my camera and sneak a quick shot. BUT, that's just my opinion.
