Alright, here are my new thoughts on the situation. I just returned from sneaking onto the Sandals Negril property to take pictures. It actually went fine... however would I do it again, NO! They didn't appear to actually have any problems with having a photographer there, so I would suggest you simply get it in writting from the WC and do it the legit way. I didn't like having to "sneak around" (there is no sneaking with a camera this size) and I couldn't bring or carry my equipment the way that I wanted to. I was constantly having to hide memory cards in case they would take them from me and of course all of the lies got old too. In the end, like I said, the wedding went beautifully and we got great photos, but I would have your travel agent talk with the resort wedding coordinator and simply get it worked out ahead of time.

I did my engagement session in Central Park, so here is my photographer's blog post about it... Leigh Miller Photography We met at the fountain (where my husband proposed) and then walked past the big lawn thing (where the large rocks are with the city view behind it) and then through some bridges and things. We ended at the restaurant in Central Park where my husband and I had a very nice dinner... but they have awesome photo ops. I hope this helps!

hmmm... I don't know of any cenotes at or near any of those ports... I think they'd be a drive or a ferry away, but it's possible. But if you weren't set on the cenote, then I'd say definitely do the TTD at Costa Maya!!!!!! I LOVED this port. I would rent a golf cart (hello, awesome photos right there) and then drive down the coast to one of the fishing villages. The water is AMAZING and beautiful. I have some photos if you'd like to see from my last vacation there. However, it was before the hurrican hit...

I'm so sorry you guys are going through this. It's not fair and it sounds just terrible! I really hope that you guys can figure this out. Claudia is a great photographer and this is just a darn shame.

Oh no Wendy!!! I'm so sorry that this is all happening so close to your date. That really stinks. I loved Yuritizia! I'm sure that Eugenia will be great though. Just bring down all of your documentation that you had with Yuritizia and I'm sure everything will go smoothly. As for the resort photographer not giving prices... THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!! Seriously, wow. I hope that someone is able to get an answer from them because it would really suck to pay $50 for a 5x7!

I paid around $2500 I believe. I flew him in from Seattle for four nights. I got the rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and trash the dress sessions... all unlimited shooting. in the end I got a book of images, a dvd slideshow, and a disc of all the images. GREAT deal!

In my contracts I say 8 weeks... I usually have them done much sooner, but that allows for me to have a little bit of leway in case something happens. However some photographers take 5+ months to get back photos. And the difference between proofs and actual photos depends on photographers. In some cases, proofs will be all of the photos, and then whatever ones you decide to order will get further editing done, and then those will be the actual photos. In other cases, proofs is just the word used to view all of the photos online before receiving them in hard copy.

Raykel, to upload photos onto this website, just start an account on Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket Then upload your photos there. After doing that you'll get an IMG code. simply copy that and paste it into your reply! I hope that helps. if anyone gets a price list from this resort photographer I would be very interested in seeing it. And has anyone received a response regarding having a family friend photograph your wedding (aka flying a photographer in and having them stay at the resort as a guest?)

I carry my equipment with me at all times. That's definitely why photographing a destination wedding is NOT a vacation. I'd also recommend a room NOT on the ground floor. That way if she/he does leave items in their room, it's a little bit harder to get to. I would also recommend not bringing a normal camera case. Bring cases that are inconspicuous, as to not draw attentio to them.

One of my guests was a vegetarian and she had no issues, so I would suggest just talking with them ahead of time

Hi Dawn! you have to use the resort photographer, or you can fly in your own photographer and have them stay as a guest at the resort. There are also a bunch of GBP brides that are on their way to their weddings or just returning, so hopefully they will have some news on the photographer situation.

If you bring a photographer from home then they'll be a guest at the wedding. They can't really tell a guest that they can't take photos. But what's typical is a three night stay and they don't care. But yeah, I agree with Janet, have your TA make a quick call to the wedding coordinator. OR you can do it yourself. Tell them that a family friend who is coming to your wedding is a photographer and has offered to take pictures as a wedding gift. Ask them if that's okay. They should say yes.
