Congratulations and welcome back!!! Did you happen to use the resort photographer? I know there has been a lot of questions concerning that lately, and it'd be nice to see some examples if you did!

I paid around 2500 for my husbands ring and it sounds very similar to the one you've described. It was exactly what he wanted (and apparently he's picky), and he'll wear it for the rest of his life. So I was fine with the cost.

Congratulations on your engagement Rebecca!! You will love this forum, and just think, three days from now will be ONE year from your wedding!! How exciting is that?

I will bow my head in shame and fully admit that I did NOT tip our coordinator. She honestly disappeared after we arrived at my reception, so I actually didn't get a chance to. Sad thing was, we actually HAD a tip for her and I gave it to my dad to take care of. Since she was no where to be seen, we gave it to the head bar tender! he deserved it as well, and probably doesn't get paid nearly as much, so I was fine with it. But I think we gave him $40 or $60. I don't remember. Oh yeah, and my left over light up ice cubes!

Welcome to the forum Rachel! I just photographed a wedding there in November and it is a very nice resort! Will you be getting married on the beach or in the gazebo? Or perhaps in the garden area? All three are very beautiful. Best wishes!!!

I had 35 people at my wedding and I did place cards. Definitely didnt need to, but they also served as our favors and I liked them, so we did!

Obviously I own a wedding related business, as I'm a wedding photographer. But I think it's important to first know what you want to get into. What is it with weddings that you want to do? Are you good at baking cakes, decorating receptions, flower arrangements, etc? Next, working with weddings is not the easiest thing, and remember weddings happen on Saturdays typically. So most of your weekends will be gone.
