  1. Congratulations!! That's so fun that Matt will have a sibling so close in age!! Although, I'm right there with you. Kora is 7 months old and I was SOOOO sick when I was pregnant. I'm not sure how I would do that. But you are right, you'll do it with the love and support from your family! And... hopefully you won't be tired at all!!

Congratulations on finally getting hitched!! How exciting! I got married at the GBP Akumal and I LOVED IT!!! Would not change it for the world. Best wedding ever... but of course I'm biased!
  3. Maura - from this forum - just photographed a wedding at the Moon Palace. The bride wanted, not only professional photos, but also photos from more than just one day (TTD). But you could probably contact her and ask her about the requirements to photograph there. I know she stayed, but they might require more than one night. You should send her a message to verify.
  4. Oh, and you DEFINITELY want a TON of hairspray. It's windy, and if you don't make your hair FULL of hairspray, it will not hold! So it's a good thing they spray that much. Trust me!!
  5. Honestly, I know that you've already gotten married... but for those who haven't yet, I vote for it all being up. It's windy this time of year, well... possibly all times of the year. But I digress. Anyway, I would honestly wear it up. Otherwise you run the risk of it flying in your face constantly during the ceremony and during pictures. Do you really want a curl stuck to your lip in your photos?
  6. OMG Sloan! That's so exciting! Congratulations on your babies!!!!
  7. I definitely like the first one, and I think these will be great!!!
  8. Welcome to the forum Stacey! I'm from West Bend, so just north of you! How exciting! I hope this website helps you plan the perfect wedding! Best wishes!
  9. They didn't like the idea of the BD photos. Very odd, but they "didn't want that happening in their hotel."
  10. Just wanted to say that I just got back from this resort and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! I agree that personally, I feel that it'd be okay to book a photographer at the Tropical/Colonial... the others start to get too far away, but in the end they are all pretty close or close enough (if you ask me... but again, that will probably change based on photographer). Anyway, the wedding locations are beautiful! The catholic ceremony area is GORGEOUS! I wish I would have known that I was going to explore it, but I stumbled upon it when I didn't have my camera. Very beautiful.
  11. I vote Gran Bahia, because that's where I got married. I loved it. Wouldn't change a thing. We need all the details; staff: SO awesome! They love kids too, so that was nice. service: We had excellent service on our trip. And always with a smile beaches: Not the best. I will admit. They are rocky because of the coral. However they are beautiful to look at and the pools are amazing. They also have fun whale bags in the water and those are fun to play on. rooms: junior suites are very nicely sized, especially for getting ready for your wedding. I thought the beds were comfortable. The room was clean. wedding locations: I got married on the beach under a wooden structure (hammock location). It was amazing! It over looks a rocky portion of the beach, so no bikini clad onlookers and it was gorgeous!! reception locations: A bunch of free locations, however I upgraded to a pool-side reception and it was AMAZING! kid-friendly: We had two kids under 2. GREAT resort for children accomodates larger parties (we're thinking between 30 and 60 ppl): we had 35... and we were the minimum for the private reception, so they definitely cater to larger crowds. I hope that helps!
  12. As a BD photographer, I have tried to negotiate with hotels for this... however I will admist, most are NOT willing to do anything. In fact, I've had a few hotels who refused to let me book a room once they found out what was going to be going on! So, you can always ask, but be prepared to be told no, and possibly to not be allowed to rent a room!
  13. Getting married on the ship is actually not a bad thing at all! It will be beautiful and you will have one heck of a week celebrating! And no more stress, that'll be SO nice!
  14. Oh this post just broke my heart! I personally think wedding photographs are one of the very most important things, and I'm not even saying that because I'm a photographer! These are the heirlooms that you will pass down to your children. These are the images they will look at and ask you about your day, and make believe they are you. Not to mention, YOU looking at your own images. I can simply open my photo book and I feel like I'm right back at my wedding. And it all happens so fast that I'm so very thankful that I spent the money for a good photographer. And can your guests take as good of pictures as a photographer... HIGHLY unlikely. You might by chance have a photographer for a friend, in which case, that'd be very generous of them to take your photos. But otherwise, no. there is a HUGE difference, if you ask me. As for paying $1200 for a resort photographer who is giving you 40 hard copy photos... well, it's better than nothing. I will say that. However, perhaps it'd be better to hire someone outside of your resort?
  15. Since you're hosting the excursion, I would definitely pay for lunch.
  16. Oh that's terrible Elizabeth! And I will admit, I have been wondering what was going on with your website!!!!
  17. Welcome to the forum! I got married at the Akumal side and I LOVED IT!!! Best decision I made! I hope your wedding is just as fantastic.

  19. Jewelers Mutual. Your basic homeowners coverage doesn't have near the peril coverage as JM does. So you have to be very careful with that.
