  1. I just had to resurrect this story... as I just stumbled upon it and I love it!!! Best husband ever!!!
  2. I've photographed a wedding there, and it's a really beautiful resort. GREAT FOOD!! MMM.. Seriously, just made my mouth water just thinking about it!! What type of a room are you getting?
  3. Little Slice of Heaven is also already taken. delectable edible delights (make sure you spell delectable right ) seems to be available, but it's a tongue twister Sugar, Spice, and Everything Iced is also already taken... a lot actually. I would recommend googling names you like. Also try godaddy and type in the web address and make sure that you can have it. Not necessarily that you'd want a website right away, but it's sure going to suck when you DO want one and you can't get one!
  4. On another note, Sugar Shack is an adult website... so I would HIGHLY recommend you do go that route!!! Sassy sweets is also already taken in the .com and the .net form... and facebook form, and webs.com and sassysweettreats. So really... I'd try and stay away from that too.
  5. Just from experience, I recommend not lowering your rate to get people in the door and then increasing your rates. You will lose the client base that you build up. What I would recommend doing instead is actually going through a pricing exercise and seeing what YOU need to charge. Know what your compitition is doing, but know what you have to do. Don't forget that Uncle Sam takes 40%+!! After you have decided what you want to charge, then offer a "limited time" discount. That way your customers can clearly see what your prices are and what they will be and will not be surprised, offended, or turned off when you raise them. Just my experience...
  6. Ah! Jules! I cannot believe it's your turn!! Any last minute details that you're getting together, or are you all ready to go?
  7. Did you guys realize that there are three of you getting married in the same week!?!?! That's awesome!!! I totally want to come and crash your weddings!
  8. Beachbunni that dress is really pretty. Beautiful bead work!
  9. When I flew to Mexico from Chicago, they didn't have an employee closet. So my dress went above the seats. Worked just fine. The white chair covers were included and free. Love you avitar picture Jen!
  10. Actually becks, I think the reason I love your dress so much is because it's pretty similar to mine! And my sash had three rows of crystals on it. I LOVED it!!! But I still think a flower would be pretty! Rachel, that dress is amazing on you. So pretty!
  11. I actually photographed a wedding at Sandals Negril this past November. I actually did purchase a day pass to photograph their wedding, however I would highly recommend you do NOT do that! The pictures suffered from having to sneak around. You can now have a guest photographer at the Sandals resorts if they stay for there nights. That would be the route that I recommend you venture down.
  12. Zappos has some AWESOME shoes! Ah yes! Shopping for shoes to go with that dress will be SUPER fun!!
  13. I definitely don't think it'll hold. I've seen my fair share of bustles, and I've also sewn my fair share of bustles at 10pm when they fall down! Since stiching doesn't even hold them, I really don't thinka broach would be able to. HOWEVER, I think it'd be a great addition to a traditional bustle. And it'd be double protection to keep it up. Just make sure it doesn't come unpinned or that would hurt when you sat down!
  14. I think it's super cute! As a photographer, I have always wanted a bride who had a fun short dress!! They are so cute and reflect the fun warm area!
  15. We used somberos from the hacienda in our wedding photos. They were like $10 a piece I think... but they gave us 6 of them to use for the evening. We returned them and gave them a $2 tip. They were happy.
  16. samira26, I think finding a photographer in that range should be doable. I just quoted two photographers flying in for three nights from Chicago (NO, that is not my airport so I'm not trying to sell you myself, just picked a major airport). It's right around $1500. So I would start emailing photographers in that area and seeing if they would be interested in photographing a wedding at your resort for $1000 or less (plus expenses). You should definitely be able to find a bunch! And photographers are usually willing to customize a package. So it never hurts to ask!
  17. Since i got married at the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal... I also vote for that!!! But I just got back from photographing a wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace and I must say that was a beautiful resort as well. And it is VERY child friendly.
  18. DO NOT!!! Ship your dress!! Things don't arrive in Mexico on time, get caught up in customs, etc. DO NOT SHIP IT! You will be very upset if your dress doesn't make the trip. The dress should fit fine above the seats in the overhead bin. You might have to cram it, but it's better to get it steamed at the resort than having to try and find a random dress to wear on your big day!
  19. Becks, your dress is beautiful. Personally, I think a flower would be a perfect addition to the dress!
  20. These turned out really beautiful! Your guests are going to be so excited to see them! Rebecca did a stellar job!
  21. Welcome to the forum Andrea and Dave!! Alright, non beach, non hotel. What about Xcaret?? Xcaret Weddings - Natural nuptials eco wedding Xcaret locations They have a ton of wedding locations that are in the jungle, on ruins, in a church. And from what I've seen it's very beautiful. Plus, it's VERY close to a bunch of resorts in the Playa Del Carmen (and north) area so your guests could all stay at the all-inclusives, but have your wedding offsite!
