  1. As far as I know you should still get the perks of having your wedding there. We met some people who had their paper fall through and were getting married the day after me. She had the same gold wrist band and said she got all the perks still.
  2. I would definitely go with the symbolic. I think it's obvious from the wording that the renewal isn't the real thing. The symbolic hides it much better.
  3. I paid for my bridal party (8 people) and my photographer to attend my wedding too, so I feel your pain. My wedding total ended up coming to 30k. There is a budget thread that is super helpful, but just as an idea, I spent 2 on the wedding package, 3 on my photographer, 2 on my private pool side reception, 12 on travel for 10 (husband and I and our 8 in the bridal party). Those were the big ones and brought me to 19 thousand. Everything else was basically just "extra" such as paying for the spa days for all the ladies, buying two wedding dresses, invitations that I wanted a certain way, etc. So i definitely think it can be done. Good luck and best wishes!
  4. Oh I feel you on the morning sickness... afternoon sickness... evening sickness... middle of the night sickness. BLAH! I was sick throughout the entire pregnancy! It was terrible. Everyone, and I mean everyone would give me advice on what to do. My favorite was to eat saltine crackers. REALLY? Like you really think that after puking for 6 months straight I haven't tried crackers LOL! I was hormonal and sick of having my head in the toilet, so in hindsight I was rude to people who were just trying to help. But gosh that sucked. Anyway, so along the lines of "everyone will give you advice," the only thing that worked for me was having my husband bring me toast in bed before i even sat up. If i sat up, I was puking. So i literally ate my toast every morning while laying down. If I did that, then at least I didn't puke in the morning and usually could make it through the afternoon. Good luck. I hope your doctor can help you out. Mine told me "oh, that will go away in August." (I was due July 18th).
  5. Just a quick warning about the whiteboards... they are typically very reflective. A professional camera can point the light source away, but typically a normal camera will point the flash directly at it, causing large glare and you most likely won't be able to read what has been written. So if you are having an outdoor location or a reception somewhere where the lighting would cause a flash to be used, please consider that.

    Hi Brides!

Welcome Jenn! The Key West area is so beautiful and your wedding is coming up so quickly! How exciting!!! Congratulations and best wishes!
  7. We used Cancun Valet for my wedding. I thought it was very reasonable and the service was great!
  8. Oh ick!! Yeah, I knew the process was longer if you have been divorced. That really stinks I'm so sorry!
  9. Erica, I LOVE your cake picture! Was that for your bachelorette party? Cause that is awesome!!!
  10. I was an outside photographer the last week in February. There was no issue. (we stayed at the resort for two nights)
  11. Agreed with jeff. As far as photos go, if you hire a good photographer you won't have to worry about them in photos.
  12. Definitely make him wait.... and for many reasons. 1. You might be self concious with him in there. 2. He might not get it and might be weird about it... and that'd suck 3. The presentation of the book will be SO awesome compared to seeing you giggling getting into the outfits. 4. If you are doing a marathon, boys aren't allowed. There will be other ladies in the room getting their makeup done and such, so typically men aren't allowed.
  13. The resort I got married at had these. It helped make the beach nice and large and beautiful. But it also made for great fun! My guests played on those things non stop. The waves crash over them and it was a blast. You can also go out further than them and play in the waves that way.
  14. I have heard AWESOME things about the Fuji camera. So that's a really cool option. Poloroid also has a new digital camera which produces wallets without using ink. It's pretty awesome Polaroid CZA-05300: Polaroid PoGo™ Instant Digital Camera - Instant Digital Camera A little bit more pricey however.
  15. Wish I could help I typically design the albums so the pictures are part of the page, not slip in. I did a quick search with some of my vendors and none appear to have what you're looking for, so I can't even help you out. Sorry!
  16. Well, what are you doing for your regular wedding day photographer? A lot of times you can get a great deal if you use the same photographer for both.
  17. Here is a really great thread that should help you out: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-present-7910/
  18. I agree with Roo66. There are some things to think about before offering. But, if you can offer, and you want to, then it's really sweet of you. What about maybe offering to pay 50% or something??

Welcome to the forum Shannon!!! Punta Cana is just gorgeous! The beaches are fantastic and the water is so beautiful. What a great backdrop for your perfect day!! Congratulations and best wishes!
  20. From what I witnessed (the reception was in the La Fondue), is that you definitely get an area for you and your guests. The wedding I was with was in a cute little jut out area so it was actually more private than the other wedding that was taking place out inside the actual restaurant. Anyway, you could do speeches, just by talking. The noise wasn't too loud and you could definitely hear. However, dancing and their own music wasn't happening. Not sure if they could have, but they didn't. After dinner everyone went to the lobby bar for live music and they did their first dance there. It was BEAUTIFUL!
  21. Welcome to the forum! Cozumel place is the only one that I am not 100% positive I've read reviews on, but otherwise there is information on all of those resorts in this forum! You will love it!! Search feature is definitely your friend, and otherwise, just start poking around! Good luck!
  22. Honestly, I think saving for the year would be a great option. Get everything together, give your Fi time to find a job without stress. And then purchase a house.
  23. The SPF thing is true. it has reflective properties that will cause you to look more white in photos. Kind of sweaty like actually. Same with mineral makeup.
