Melanie I photographed a TTD session at the Barcelo, and as mentioned above, we used the Coral area. It was at 6am, so sunrise. It was gorgeous! After the coral area, then we walked along the beach. Got some shots by the life guard stand. Then headed to the pier. Here is my blog post, if you'd like to get some ideas: Modern Wisconsin Wedding Photographer Faber Photography Blog Archive The Morning Sun {West Bend Wisconsin Trash the Dress Photographer} Another awesome photographer that we meet while down there did a few trash the dress sessions in the same area, and then also around the resort. 2. Honestly, as a photographer... I LOVE these moments. Some of my favorite captures. But as a past destination bride, I can tell you I was STRESSED OUT the moments before walking down to my ceremony. Back to being a photographer, I try to think of everything so my bride doesn't have to. I coordinate when she gets dressed, where her stuff is, make sure she eats, make sure the bridemaids don't drive her nuts (he he). But then, I leave for about the 15 minutes before the ceremony. She usually needs that time with her mom/dad or closest friends to just relax a little. I go take pictures of the ceremony all set up before guests are seated and then also casual shots of the guests prior to the wedding. I'm also then in place for when the bridesmaids start their walk down the aisle. It's all personal preference though. If you feel like you would be better off without a photographer, then definitely don't let it stress you out. Just meet them at the ceremony.
  3. My wedding was in Mexico, not Jamaica, but we had 35 guests.
  4. I completely agree with Dino... plus, they aren't cheap! So now you have "an unknown "photographer" working for a multibusiness company" taking picture of your wedding, but charging what a specialized wedding photographer charges. So sad. The good news is that you can still hire your own photographer. Thanks for the update Tammy!
  5. Tracy everything looks great! i LOVE your dress and your shoes. So worth the search!
  6. I had a lace dress, and I LOVED IT! I think that lace dresses are actually perfect for beach weddings. Just romantic and beautiful. And the dress that you have linked to, it's gorgeous!
  7. I love the first one, and I like the flowers more than the crystals. Just gives it a flowy feel. But as you can see, everyone has a different opinion, which means you look gorgeous in them all!
  8. I had the surf and turf at the wedding I photographed there. It was in February, so you shouldn't have a problem (it was delicious by the way!).
  9. Welcome to the forum! I hear that Aruba is amazing! It's on my list of places I need to go before I die. So I think that's a brilliant compromise with hurricane season! Best of luck to you!
  10. Gorgeous dress! I agree with nmurch. A simple button to hold it up should look very nice.
  11. Faber Photography is running a Boudoir Marathon in Milwaukee Wisconsin! I'm so excited about these sessions, as the hotel ROCKS! PM or Email me ([email protected]) for details! (larger version on my blog Modern Wisconsin Wedding Photographer Faber Photography)
  12. Definitely check with your dress. Some dresses the corset goes basically to the butt crack. So sometimes you have to have a little bit of a modisty panel. But otherwise, I love it both ways. So beautiful!
  13. LOL! That is funny! I have seen a lot of grooms put the ring on the wrong hand of their brides and that always makes me giggle. Oh I bet you laughed pretty hard when you figured that out!
  14. What about a smores kit? Create a cute little box with some crackers, marshmellows, and chocolate and then attach the recipe on the back of a thank you card. That could be super cute and go with the low key campground idea.
  15. I've had some friends that had that happen as well. One boy (12) knocked out about 6 of his teeth. They have no idea how, but I think 4 of them reattached... so good luck!!
  16. Welcome to the forum Mia!!! I've never been to any of those resorts, so i can't give specific advice, but I'd saerch this forum and I'm sure you'll get a ton of information and questions to take down to Mexico with you. Enjoy our trip and best wishes for your wedding!
  17. LChavez, I think bringing a photographer might be your best option. You'll want to find someone who will do it for travel fees alone (to increase their portfolio). Thankfully you're traveling during the winter, so rates are lower. Just checking I found it for around $1300 for two people... but I'm sure there are other airports where it's cheaper to fly out of (I checked Chicago). My suggestion would be to contact photographers on this site. And then contact photographers in the areas of the United States that would be in low wedding season during February. Those are going to be the ones MOST likely to give you a great deal like that.
  18. Kirsten, your wedding was so beautiful! And all the planning you did ahead of time really paid off. It's all so gorgeous!!! Congratulations again!
  19. I know I've seen these on here before, but as a photographer... I LOVE THESE!!! So unique and beautiful and a great keepsake for after the wedding. I think these would be awesome to use as ring plates during the ceremony. So beautiful! Anyway, I stumbled upon this etsy seller and thought i'd pass it on. 20. Could you please decorate my house as well! DANG! You have AMAZING taste, and your photos are gorgeous. You did an amazing job with choosing what ones to go where and in what form to show them off (canvas, metal, framed)
  21. A few of them will flitter off, but most will stay where they fall. Real rose petals are actually kind of dense, so they shouldn't fly off.
  22. I would definitely wait. Getting your tickets reissued would be expensive, if not impossible (they are sticklers now) and you'd have to pay for a new passport. So, honestly, you're better off waiting until September.
  23. Seeing all of your pictures and reading the review makes me want to go back SO badly! I cannot wait to get back to the resort and take our daughter with us. Ah... bliss!
  24. Beautiful! And I LOVE the back of your dress! That looks just gorgeous on you!
