  1. This is what mine had on it... I think! It's all I could find in my documents. Program-OPT-1-INNER.doc
  2. I highly recommend, no shoes. Flip flops will toss sand up your skirt... and you'll probably be sweating and then you'll have sand stuck to your legs and that's not fun. Wedges aren't really stable while walking down the hill on uneven and shifting sand. Heels... well... that's just plain silly So I would recommend no shoes. And then have a cute pair of flip flops or wedge heels to wear after the ceremony during portraits, dinner, and dancing.
  3. Awe Sunshine! That dress looks SO gorgeous on you!!!!! I cannot wait to see it on the gorgeous beaches of GBP!
  4. The mixed grill was what we went with... but I had to pry it out of her that it was an option. I would straight up ask her if the mixed grill is still an option. When I did, then she went on to say how it was served with plastic silverware and paper plates. I said I didn't care, that was fine for our group. However, it was the normal china that we were served on with regular silverware, so that was just ridiculous. But I really had to push for the mixed grill option.
  5. I would ask about it. We only had 32 people in total, but we paid for 35. If I would have choosen the theamtic dinner I would have had to pay for 50. Did she send you the dinner menus? Which one did you choose?

Does anyone know, is 50 the minimum? I'm thinking maybe now having a cocktail party, I have seen on here that some of you girls have paid the cheapest drinks option and got the full range has that happe ned with just a cocktail aprty or was that paying for 50+ having a sit down meal Many thanks x There is the thematic dinner and then there is another option, but that is for 35 people minimum (well, it was when I got married). So you're probably going to want to do dinner at a restaurant and then drinks and dancing outside. As for the drink options, those who have been lucky didn't necessarily have the 50+ people for a sit down meal. The wedding I just photographed had their dinner at Portofino and full bar at the jacuzzi pool As for the two right shoes... ROFL! I'm sorry, that totally sucks, but when you think about it, it's pretty hilarious. Like, how does that happen?!?
  7. Awe! Thanks so much Cynthia! You're welcome Christy! I think your guests will really enjoy it. Plus, you can ask the wedding coordinator if she'll have a private area for your group. Typically at that time you don't really need it, but if you're having a trio or mariachi play then it's a great place to do that.
  8. Yup. Guests at all four resorts have free access to the Hacienda area. From Tulum you can actually walk there if you'd like, otherwise there will be a brightly colored tram that will take you
  9. I'm glad you guys find this helpful! It seems like the lobby bar is more popular..is that because it isn't as hot? Any advise is appreciated! Thanks! Which beach bar? There is an Akumal beach bar over by the swimming area, but the only place to sit is lounge chairs. The 24 snack bar has a bar, but it's plastic chairs, sandy, and pretty loud (right next to the activity pool). Not necessarily a problem, but your guests will be dressed up, so I think that's why they prefer the "classier" bar. It feels more like a wedding??? Plus it's definitely not in the sun, which helps too!
  10. There isn't one in Tulum. The disco is at the Hacienda. The name is Discoteca La Rancherita. It's open Friday-Wednesday 12am-2:30am and Thursdays 11:45-2:30am.

But the quietest pools are the jacuzzi pools. They are tucked away (especially Akumal's) and have their own bar! They are pretty much awesome!! Sure do! I just haven't posted it yet. I'm still working on organizing those photos. As for the kids club, I only have pictures. Sorry! I'll double check in the brochures that I brought home, but I don't think it has any information in it. An internet search gave me this: The facilities of a Mini-Club called "El Principito" for the enjoyment and healthy entertainment of children. The kid's club is located next to the amphitheatre and is situated on the beach. The club is located near the central swimming-pool. It has furniture designed for children, and a wide variety of games and activities. The entire area is properly enclosed for children's safety and has shaded areas to protect them from the Caribbean sun. The multi-lingual staff is fluent is several languages. The club also organizes evening activities including a children's show. Use of the children's club is subject to specific rules that parents must respect to guarantee their children's complete safety. (applicable ages: 4- to 12-years old).
  12. First off, WELCOME!!!! Second, this weather is crazy!!! I had a couple who wanted their engagement session done in the snow. We live in Wisconsin easy peasy... HA! We have been waiting since January and rescheduled four times (it would snow but melt before we could do pictures)!! Finally this past Sunday we had five inches and we were able to get the photo session done. And it was a good thing we did it at 8:30 in the morning because by noon the snow was practically gone already!! CRAZY!!!
  13. Welcome! Yup, those colors shouldn't be a problem at all. I had cream and I've seen red. Your wedding coordinator will send you a packet of all the options, however your best bet is to look at pictures of real brides! The packet looks like it's from 1982! Here is a thread that I've put together with a lot of great information and links to hundreds of photos! Enjoy! Official Gran Bahia Principe Thread
  14. Awesome! We're pretty close! Yeah, this winter wasn't bad... but Jamaica still beats 30 degrees and gloomy!
  15. Alright, for normal guests, go with villa 47. Very centrally located and a gorgeous beach view. For golden club members, 65-67 are the best
  16. Wow! So many new Cabo brides!!! Great to see!! Beach or gazebo is a tough choice. Both are gorgeous! If you have a larger group, the beach is probably a better option as the gazebo is pretty close to the restaurant wall. I have some pictures here if you'd like to see for yourself: http://blog.faberphotography.com/dreams-los-cabos-wedding-photo-tour/
  17. Congratulations on booking your date!!! We were just there last April and we shot two weddings, one in each pool location. I have a great photo tour here if you'd like to view it. I hope it helps you! http://blog.faberphotography.com/dreams-los-cabos-wedding-photo-tour/
  18. I just voted for you! I hope you win! I mean what could be better than a DR wedding?!!?
  19. Absolutely gorgeous! I'm going to differ from the crowd, but your dress has beautiful detailing. I think the ribbon from the first braclet will compete with the dress and possibly look like a ruffle from the dress fell off while you're posing for pictures. With that, I'd go with the second one. Good luck! Either way you'll look great!
  20. Hi Andrea!! I'm from Wisconsin too, just north of Milwaukee. What area are you from? Getting out of Wisconsin in April is great. It's a great start to the spring!

My wedding is also at 4pm...on the beach but Maria didn't say which one..I'm hoping it's the Hammock location. I should probably get Maria to confirm that! So I'm thinking I won't have the cocktail hour...but maybe have everyone meet at a specific bar or location after the pictures are taking and then the meal would follow shortly after at the Portofino. Also any ideas for people to get to know one another? Most of our guests will be coming from various hubs in Canada and most will not know one another. I was thinking of asking Maria to set aside a few tables for our group and have a brunch the next morning so we can hand out the OOT gift bags/ mugs and give everyone a guide of a few events that we have planned. That way if people want to come they are more then welcome, but it's their vacation too Thanks, Adel So, the pool rooms... activity pool is loud. Jacuzzi pool has wedding receptions. I would aim for the quiet pool area. Cheryl was in villa 24 if i remember correctly and it was very centrally located and just steps from the pool which, to me, seemed pretty awesome. We were in villa 9 which was quite a walk... or in our case a run (it rained a lot) to anywhere. We like walking... and apparently running in the rain... so we didn't mind muhc. Maria will have your guests meet at the main lobby at 5:20 to take them to your 5:30 dinner... or whatever the time may be. So I would recommend the lobby bar for your guests to hang out after the ceremony.
  22. Oh, and as for that 10 minute walk I actually did time it. From villa 9 to the Akumal beach location (next to the Hammock wedding location) it is a 10 minute walk at a somewhat brisk pace. On our way back, it was 12, but we stopped to take some pictures of the iguanas

If it is can someone advise, which resort is better and why? I'm ideally looking for book at the newest one... I'd just like to be able to pass this info along to my guests so they understand where to be booking etc. Help!! They are all the same resort, and all within walking distance. Tulum is the oldest, but almost all the rooms have ocean views or are very close to the ocean. Less than a two minute walk to the beach and pools. Further south down the beach is Akumal. There are only four or five villas in Akumal that are beach views. The rest go into jungle views. Coba is the newest resort and is all suites (has a living room area in every room), however it is a 10 minute walk to the beach or a five minute trolley ride. None of the rooms have a view of the water.
