I think plum with pops of green would be REALLY beautiful. And i forgot the picture. Ugh! Sorry! Basically the beach was being very well restored. They already had dump trucks of sand brought it. However the piers are completly gone, the beach bars are completely gone, the palayas were in ruins, and the wedding structure is down to three sticks. However, they were working really hard at fixing everything. It's probably even fixed by now (with exception to the piers and bars)

Yup, I used them, as did a few of my bridesmaids. We were very happy. However, we're also not huge makeup wearers so not necessarily sure we could tell the difference!

Yup! Very true Andrea! Plus, I got married in 2008 when you got 2 pieces of luggage for free! That makes a big difference!

We used discountmugs.com. They were insulated and had a handle. I'd probably go the route with no handle if I had it to do over again, simply because it'd be easier to transport! But the quality was great and I still see people using them 4 1/2 years later, which is a good sign!

Naturally, I'm biased towards GBP. However they each have their benefits. My sister was at NOW in June and GBP just two days ago. She preferred GBP, but that doesn't mean that everyone will. I guess, what do you want your wedding to look like?

Yup! The weather was absolutely beautiful for the wedding and trash the dress session I had. Beauitful sunshine The hurricane did some damage, but nothing too terrible that we weren't able to work around it

We did them. But not for every guest. We did for every room. I thought it was a really nice touch, but I'd do them differently now. I'd do the cheap drawstring bags from here. Although the canvas ones were cheaper, they ARE cheaper, so people didn't use them. Plus, they don't keep sand out. So a drawstring bag I think people would actually use. Then I'd get a customized mug again, because EVERYONE used that and it was cool to see everyone have it at the pool. Then I'd get sample immodium and tylenol (from Office Max) and the small sunscreen from Walmart and sunscreen lip balm. That's it. Nothing else. Those are the only things my group used. The sunscreen and lip balm were really the big ones, since most people ran out of sunscreen and completely forgot to protect their lips.

The makeup pros were hair and makeup. Typically they just arrive at the resort and come to your room. They'll have to pay the day pass. It's super easy and great results.

I would say you cannot get married on the beach in Tulum and I don't think you'd want to either. It's on an angle so would be very hard to have chairs for guests. It's also extremely crowded and wouldn't romantic at all. Perhaps a private hotel in Tulum is more what you're looking for

Hello everyone! As I'm sitting in a lounge chair in the Cabo section, I'll answer some questions Speeches are perfectly fine without a mic. Fridays wedding was 43 people and it wasn't a problem. They also don't seat normal guests until around 7 or 8, so you can do the speeches earlier. You cannot rent the disco. A few years ago they stopped offering that. Mariah's resort DJ was not the best, I'd probably recommend hiring an outside one if it's important. Her makeup artist was AMAZING!!! Fernando at the makeup pros. Very good. The hurricane washed away both piers and the Akumal wedding site (and beach) but they are working around the clock to fix them. They do NOT sell starfish anymore at the hacienda. Can't wait to show everyone some gorgeous wedding photos!!!

Yup, I'll grab some photos... possibly of a wedding there I hope not, but it might be raining on Friday. We'll find out rather quickly, I suppose!

Yup, I'm photographing a wedding on Friday in Riviera Maya and I'm watching this hurricane like a hawk! It's supposed to make land fall on Wednesday, so I'm praying that flights on Thursday will be okay.
