  1. Have an absolutely magical time!!! I cannot wait to hear all about the amazing time that you have!
  2. Try the Gran Bahia Principe. The rates seem to always be very reasonable, at least for me.
  3. Anya that sounds so lovely! I'm sure you'll add in a little shopping while you're in town and all the ladies will love it!
  4. Honestly, I think laying out by the pool and just hanging out in a girls only atmosphere sounds FABULOUS!
  5. They are "professionals" using not professional equipment and over photoshopping their images and they are very expensive. You pay a lot for very few images. Now, it's not that's important to some brides to have a whole album that tells the story of their day. They are perfectly fine with a handful of images. And that's perfectly great. And everyone has their own taste, so if you feel the images are timeless and what you want, then that's perfect and you'll have images youll treasure forever! So it's a personal taste type thing. But I will tell you that most of them are not using professional grade cameras or lenses. But, it's not always about the gear, but more so that they know how to rock what they got! One thing I recommend if you go with them, is that you select beautiful color images. You can always take a picture and turn it black and white or find someone to photoshop it. So it gives you more options which is nice. I will gladly show an example of this if you'd like. I can show you the many different options you have with a beautiful color image, versus buying the black and white and being stuck with black and white.
  6. That is correct. And they are definitely a pain in the butt, but it's SO worth it to have great wedding day pictures.
  7. That's not true. They allow photographers if you book a three night stay and they don't have a problem with that at all. I've photographed two weddings there in the last year. http://faberphotography.com/weddings/gran-bahia-principe-tulum-gazebo-wedding/2012 http://faberphotography.com/weddings/cheryl-aaron-gran-bahia-principe-coba-destination-wedding-photos/2012
  8. The private meals give your guests TONS of options. But they are more expensive.
  9. I agree with the three milk cake. Delicious! And a LOT of the cake from my wedding, and both weddings I have photographed there since, has gone to waste. So it's really just for your cake cutting picture. And if you're not hiring an external photographer, then you won't even have professional pictures of that so I'd probably save the money.
  10. Claruickie, gerbera and roses are included, so you should be okay. gettingwed12, I cannot wait to hear all about the double weddings!!
  11. I had the grill option in April, best idea ever The food was $20 per person, however I budgeted for the $46 option, just in case that's what they charged me. The food was amazing. There were SO many options. I think six different hot food options, then fresh fruit, and a bunch of side dishes and pastas. Very good and a TON of food. I had 35 people, and there was basically an option for each person! It was insane. Then the cocktails are $8 per person
  12. Welcome back and congratulations!!! I'm so glad to hear that your wedding went so perfectly!
  13. It's definitely close enough to walk. From the hammocks it's probably a 2 minute walk if that? You just walk along the activity pool and it'll lead you to the main pool. Cross the bridge and you're at the lobby bar. And the Frutos Del Mar is at the edge of the activity pool, so even less.
