    Hola

Welcome Erica! Dreams Tulum seems to be a good spot! Would you like to share your engagement story? We love those!!!
  2. I don't think you can really go wrong. I actuall was there two years ago (it does feel like yesterday courtney!) and we stayed at the cheapest resort we could, which was the Disney All Star Sports Resort. We were going last minute, and staying cheap... and to tell you the truth, I loved it. It was fun! Not sure the room was up to par with HONEYMOON... but it was comfortable and afordable. We were able to spend more money on going to the parks.
  3. I remember reading in someone's review of the Bahia that it cost $550 to have a reception by the pool. This is exactly what it said "We rented a DJ and a bar with Bartender for the after party. It was located next to the main pool in tulum.Best $500.00 I ever spent. Dinner was at the Gran Tortuga, and the steak was perfect, in my opinion." I would actually like to have my dinner by the pool, but I didn't think that was an option. Then again, I didn't think renting a dj and a bar was an option by the pools either!
  4. So, of course I'm not even engaged... but I like to plan, so I have a preliminary budget set up. Let me tell you, getting married is NOT cheap! Dang! So, my number is $29,000. GULP. We are paying for our wedding party to fly & stay, however, and that's $15,000 so I guess when you subtract that it's not that much.
  5. Hmmm... is the second one see through or am I seeing things?
  6. Can you set up a reception at the Gran Bahia anywhere other than the restaurants and the disco? I didn't know this was an option! Did you get prices? Also, dancing in the sand would be VERY difficult (I have trouble walking!) so you'd need a dance floor on a level surface. What about by one of the pools?
  7. Welcome! This forum will definately make you feel very well prepared for your wedding. The ladies here (and grooms) have provided such wonderful information and have come up with such clever ideas that you won't be able to miss a beat!
  8. Moon Palace allows children. Plus, although their extras are more, their original package is quite good. Do you really need extras? And would you save more in the stay of your trip that it would even out? Weigh your options. Also, I'm not even engaged, but if it happens some what soon I would get married in April of 08, so being in July, you have PLENTY of time. Don't fret. One more month shouldn't make that big of a difference.
  9. Welcome! Are you a destination photographer, trying to start destinations, or just a regular photographer who would love to share some great ideas with us?
  10. Welcome! It depends on your budget, but great photographers in the area are Sol (Sol Tamargo Photography Wedding Photojournalism) or Claudia Rodriguez (Claudia Rodriguez, Photographer, Cancun & Riviera Maya), but there are also great photographers who are willing to travel to the area!
  11. Hmm... sorry about that. It works for me... but only at work! I guess you have to be registered in order for it to be free.
  12. Wow! It must be meant for you then! If it "magically" is now in your price range That's awesome!
  13. I like how Jessalyn put it in her welcome letter... she said " Join Jessalyn in the morning at the spa for a treatment, if you wish. Spend the afternoon with us at the beachside pool or enjoy a day in town if you desire." I thought it was a nice way of saying... RELAX you are on vacation!
  14. Wow! it's really nice to hear that someone hasn't had problems! it gives me hope!
  15. Good afternoon ladies! I'm excited about this... so I thought I would share my joy! Vistaprint now offers T-shirts! And if you act fast, you get one for free! Well, OK, that's a lie! It's $4.41 for shipping... but that's it! VistaPrint - Business Cards - Full Color Printing - Digital Printing Company | VistaPrint How fun!
  16. Try this thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...es-guests.html
  17. Wow! What a wonderful last minute disaster! to end up with Sol is practically like winning the lottery!
  18. Wow! That is so nice of you to come here AFTER your wedding just to share your experiences. Thank you so much! It really looks like you and your husband had a wonderful time and are incredibly in love!
  19. I've also been to the Little Chapel of The West for a wedding and it was so fun! Very cute chapel!
  20. I thought of the not knowing Spanish thing... and here's my thinking. Typically you get a print out (in English) of that they will say, so he can easily read the ceremony. Plus, where you don't like parts, you can have him change it in English, although it'll still be legal in Spanish! I don't know if that'll work, but it sounds great in my head!
  21. I don't think that's legal there... but I am just making that up. However, if it ISN'T legal, perhaps your brother-in-law could translate the officiants words? Again, not sure if your ceremony would be done in a different language.
  22. Well, I'm an advocate for the Gran Bahia Riviera Maya resorts... but that's just based off of internet searching and friend's recommendations. But, it sounds like your resort already fits all of your requirements. Perhaps you do need a site visit though.
