  1. This is where I would recommend. http://www.mezzaninetulum.com/ I've never stayed there, just played on the beach in front of it and heard a lot about it. It's AMAZING. The beach is the prettiest beach you'll ever see. And for a short honeymoon, I think it'd be just perfect.
  2. That is correct. They will have a separate veggie option for those individuals.
  3. Oh, and they do have a DJ there that will start, stop, and fade your music. So you don't have to worry about it.
  4. The walk is longer, but not a whole song long. I think sharing a song would be fine. My husband shared a song with our bridal party. We had four groups in the bridal party.
  5. Definitely carry your dress onboard with you in a garment bag. Lay it in the overhead compartment and it'll be fine. Thursdays is the Mexican Fiesta at the Hacienda, and you do have to pay per person for that. I believe $18 or so. So in that case, I'd party at the lobby. Tulum and Coba always seem to have a live music party going on.
  6. I would say the lobby bars or the hacienda. The hacienda will have live music eventually, but I think it's later. So you're better off at the lobby bars for a couple hours. They will most likely have live music going on earlier. Your wedding is coming up SO quickly! And I'm glad you finally confirmed everything. Yeah, a beach reception is really not a great idea. The beach isn't really flat in this area, it's really dark, depending on time of year there are bugs that come out on the beach at night, and the wind will get sand on all your food. At first I wanted a beach reception too, but after being told that and then having the poolside reception, they were right. The poolside was far better. Most private = Coba. Space to move around = Akumal. Most go to the Hacienda... or to bed!
  7. I have never eaten inside of the Mediterraneo. You can see on my photo tour (HERE) that they have white linens and the same tables as all the other restaurants. So I would assume you could do long tables of 10-12 by pushing the tables together.
  8. Claruickie, so your'e paying for your guests to go to the Mexican Fiesta at the Hacienda? That'll be fun!
  9. For my wedding, we had a poolside reception so we had a mic and were introduced by my father before dinner. For the wedding I photographed at Coba, someone (dad again I think) introduced the bride and groom as they walked into the reception. he just yelled, basically. But the restaurant won't have other guests in it at that time, so it's not like you're competing with anyone. For the wedding I photographed in Tulum, the bride & groom just walked in and everyone started clapping.
  10. They have live music in the courtyard pretty much every night and then the disco at midnight. It's really beautiful there, but I've never seen a private reception. I wonder what area they'd set it up in? It could be pretty awesome.
  11. Morning ladies! Since Adventure Photos now does the photography, could someone please forward me their new prices so that I can update this thread? Thanks, and happy new year!
  12. My nieces drank it when they were 18 months. They never had a problem. Just make sure you get the refrigerated milk. You can also go to Walmart in Playa Del Carmen and buy a gallon.
  13. Welcome to the site Karen! The Gran Bahia Tulum is amazing! Are you thinking you'll get married at the beach location or the gazebo? Congratulations and I look forward to hearing more about your wedding
  14. Not sure about papal, but I'd think you could. It's Coba, but so very nice. They have to close down that bar though to guests, so not sure.
  15. There is a reception ball room in the basement of the resorts. I'm sure you could use that (they use it as the rain location for the pool receptions)
