Wow, that's so nice of you to try and get ideas from other brides for your daughter. I know sometimes when mom's give their opinions we just don't listen, so this is a great way for you to get involved!

Oh I HATE it when people say I could get married at a beach here! That drive me NUTS!!!! Yeah, because the smell of sewage and dead fish is SO appealing! Not to mention the Super 8 Drive in Motel. Nice.

I would work on your budget a little bit before you go to Cabo. That way you will know how much you can allot to each item. You can start with things that the price WON'T change on based on season. So, write down how much you want to spend on your wedding dress, your invitations (don't forget postage), your photography budget. If you know you are having your wedding at dreams, then you can already account for the spa prices (hair, nails, etc.) By adding all of these things up, you'll start to realize how much money you'll have for the wedding itself and for transportation and lodging. This could help narrow down dates for you.

I'm not even engaged yet and just from talking about it (i've learned to keep my mouth shut) but I've already heard the normal "wow, nobody will be at your wedding," "you aren't getting married in a church, then it's not a real wedding." But, my favorite was when I showed someone my resort and they said "you know, that's kind of far from the airport, there are a LOT of other resorts out there." Yeah, there are... but I did my research and this is what WE want! Ugh. people.

Hmm, I like the idea. I've heard real shells smell, so maybe fake ones wouldn't! Plus, plastic ones are probably lighter and will be easier to transport!

Would you even be allowed to bring those into Mexico? I know many people have brought in starfish, but those are much less obvious. I wonder.

According to Martha Stewart, the best color combinations are ones that are either directly across from each other on the color wheel, or right next to each other. With that said, she had her fav combination which was blue and yellow. It looked amazing. I would assume a lime green would give the same effect.

I think you would be perfectly fine waiting another month. If your dress takes 6 months to come in that still leaves you with 2 1/2 for alterations.

I think a backyard shindig would be really nice. Around here, it's typically $10 a table and $2 a chair to rent... but I don't know what it'd be by you. It'd probably be even cheaper if you could find a caterer that offers all the place settings and glassware.
