Nope, it's illegal to get pictures taken at the Tulum ruins. You will be turned away immediately. If they catch you trying to sneak in, they will confiscate your photographers equipment. -

Yeah, a LOT of items get held up at customs and don't ever make it to your resort. So it's really not a safe and reliable option. I'd definitely scale things back and bring them in your luggage instead. What also helps is luggage that fits inside of each other. For my wedding I had a big suit case and then the two suitcases that fit inside of it. All three had wedding supplies in them. On the way home I put the suit cases inside of the suitcases and my wedding dress smushed into the smallest one. Made travel on the way home WAY easier!!!

Well, there is also a cost for the DJ or for a speaker system. So perhaps that's the extra cost? And you're getting married on my five year anniversary of getting married there

Berg, we did have a reading. We did a sand ceremony. However it had to be after the official ceremony (same with if we had written our own vows). So technically you are pronounced husband and wife in Spanish before you can customize the ceremony.

I'm just north of Milwaukee! Where were you from? Back when I got married, hair was $85 and makeup $55. I think it's listed in the spa section of this thread what they are now though. I just booked a June 2014 wedding. But I can put something on my calendar for your date as a hold. And if anyone contacts me about it, I can let you know first.

Well Hi! Welcome to the forum! my website is www.faberphotography.com. There is a gallery for destination weddings and also if you go under categories you can see my most recent destination weddings, including the two I've photographed at the Gran Bahia. If you'd like to hire me, the sooner the better. Since i photograph weddings here in Wisconsin as well, I fill up fast. But hopefully we could work something out There is a spa at the resort. Many people have used them. Some happy with their services (like I was) some, not so happy. There are also outside vendors. MVP and The Makeup Pros are both really great options if you wanted to go that route. Best wishes!

Yup. I personally didn't really like the look of the white fabric that comes standard. I wanted a pop of color, so I brought fabric. And, apparently people liked the look of that because now a lot of people do it! LOL! But, the setup is gorgeous even without it. I photographed a wedding a year ago there without any fabric and it was beautiful. The ocean crashing on the rocks just beyond the ceremony site make it a great backdrop

Personally, as a photographer, 4pm is a great ceremony time. But it really depends on what type of a photographer you have. I'm pretty quick, so an hour and a half is more than enough time for me to get formals and portraits done. Plus the lighting is better and it'll be cooler. But it does depend what time of year you're getting married. If sunset is at 6 or later, then it's great. Ceremony 4-4:20pm Champagne toast 4:20-4:30 Formals 4:30-5 Portraits with bridal party 5-5:30 Bride & Groom Portraits 5:30-6 (this allows for you to get away by yourselves for a little bit and also to have a grand entrance into your dinner).

The order of your reception can vary based on your preferrences, but here are a few options that I see most often: 6pm - Grand Entrance, Cut Cake, dinner is served 7:30 pm - Cake is served 8pm - first dance 6pm - Grand Entrance dinner is served 7:30 pm - Cake is cut and served... takes longer to serve when you first cut it at this time, so allow extra time for that. 8:15pm - first dance 6pm - Grand Entrance, First Dance, Cut Cake 6:30 pm - Dinner is served 8 pm - dance starts -

10 yards won't be enough... unless you only wanted the top. And then it might still not quite be enough. I brought down 14 or 16 yards and it still didn't touch the ground. So just something to think about.
