  1. OK you creative ladies.... Shawn and I have a problem. We don't know what to get the groomsmen for gifts. We have three options. 1) 4 GB Ipod Nano in Silver 2) Magellan Maestro 3100 GPS system 3) 9 pack season tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers. The problem is that our friends could possibly like all three, but we want to get them something that they really love and would use the most. So we are trying to come up with a very clever way to ask them. I put together a PowerPoint... but that seems lame. Anyone have any cool ideas? Jean-Marcus?? You seem to be creative? Perhaps put together a slideshow HELP... PLEASE...
  2. I'd like to nominate Angela for Mrs. I'll have to think about the "soon to be"
  3. That is such a fun engagement story! I love his version! he must have been VERY nervous! And now... PICTURES!!!!
  4. Hey, I have a wedding dress for sale! As you work through the "for sale" section you'll find it. Here's a direct link though. It's a size 8... however I'm typically a size 4-6. Wedding dress sizing SUCKS! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t14366 $200 OBO
  5. Holy Crap Jen! Your place looks AMAZING! You guys did such a great job!!! WOW! Everyone else... your houses look so nice and cozy and beautiful! I love them all! Now it makes me want to come to dinner at each and everyone of your houses!
  6. Yes, we did. We paid for 5 rooms for 8 attendents (I wish the other two were a couple the the other six! That would have been nice!). But, we only paid for three nights. We didn't want to put pressure on our friends to have to pay to stand up for us and we couldn't imagine getting married without them... so we paid. Of course all but one extended the vacation... but that's besides the point!
  7. I thought of this too. Although I'm not getting married at Dreams, it's the same area. But, it's a matter of weighing what you want. I did NOT want to have hundreds of other hotels in the backgrounds of all my photos. i wanted to "get away" (yet still be at a huge all inclusive resort ). So, in order to get what I wanted or had envisioned... 1 hour 15 minutes it is!
  8. I've been on some Carnival cruises (love them!). I don't drink, so they are actually a very good deal for me. As far as smuggling alcohol the only way my group has had success is by filling a scope bottle! Since scope has alcohol in it anyways, nobody notices. We've even gone as far as dying booze green Soda cards work lovely if you do end up smuggling in. well, for our groups members it did. As far as sea sickness I think it also depends on the time of year that you go. We went in january once and it was as if the whole boat had the ear patch on. In May we went and nobody did. The waters were smoother. What ports are you thinking of going to?
  9. OOO, I think that's the place that I'm trying to have do my wedding cake! I've heard wonderful things!
  10. So I had decided not to give my bridesmaids an additional gift (already paid for their dresses, hair, makeup, and nails)... but I found these necklaces and they will match their dresses perfectly!!! They are Swarovski and the coolest part is that they have the big necklace (which will be for my bridesmaids) and then they have a mini version which I'll give to the flower girls! How cute! Also, for anyone who is looking for starfish jewelry, they now have some earrings and necklaces. Very pretty!
  11. O... ha! No, I can't really post them (unless someone wants to volunteer... Tammy?). I can't log onto photobucket from work and I don't want to download them at home. Tough spot.
  12. I LOVED my mugs! And the customer service reps were awesome for me. But I was on their mailing list for a year and only got one coupon code... so you probably aren't going to find one. They do have free shipping pretty often though.
  13. Alright. I had this happen... only I had more time than you... but I still freaked out none the less. Now, I did the "just in case" shopping. I highly DON'T recommend this until you are ready to truly purchase a second dress. Because when I just went looking for possible options, I feel in LOVE with a dress. And wouldn't you know it. I buy the back up dress and the next day my first dress came. So... I wouldn't go emergency shopping quite yet. But, I would find a seamstress that knows your situation and is willing to do any needed alterations very quickly.
  14. Welcome! I'm your neighbor to the north and I'm getting married in April too... but of 2008! But, i'll post my review of my Riviera Maya wedding as soon as I get back
  15. Oh I LOVE their suits! However, I bought a bunch of strapless ones for the wedding week (no tan lines hopefully in my dress!) and when I received them I found out they weren't lined! Well, they were... but usually they will have a little bit of a pad in them and they didn't have anything. But, ah well. They were super cheap and are still SUPER cute!
  16. I'm so excited to finally have this all! My something new is my wedding dress... and a whole lot more! My something old will be my great grandmother's earring which is a blue crystal cross. I plan on pinning it to the inside of my dres. Something borrowed will be my friend's veil... which will then move on to my bridesmaid to wear in her wedding Oh, and the traveling starfish! My something blue will be the cross from my great grandmother as well as my adorable VS undies
  17. Wow! That was a great review! I'm glad to hear that your wedding was so beautiful and your pictures are amazing!
  18. So, you say it's just a little fender bender and just a little paint scuff? It might be cheaper in the long run if you just pay for it yourself rather than turning it into your insurance company. Being the person at the insurance company that sets the rates, I can tell you that having an accident will increase your premium and it'll stay on your record for 3-5 years if not more. So every year you'll pay more in insurance. So if it's just a paint scrape you can usually have it buffed and touched up for $100 or less and it might end up being cheaper for you.
  19. I think I would suggest the real cards. The flip flop ones, although really cute are really quite small! I ordered the metallic ones instead and they are normal sized. I also have ordered: Just married flip flops Bride/Groom visors Cocktail parasols (my original idea for place cards) Raffia Fans - wedding programs Starfish - stinky! Beach balls Small beach buckets with sand tools for the kids Squirty fish Flip Flop note pads Hibiscus candy bracelets I'm sure there is more, but I can't think of anything else right now.
  20. Wow! These invites are SO beautiful!!!! Very well done! Are you getting married on the 6th now? Your info says the 7th. Either way, gorgeous invites!
  21. That is a very beautiful dress! I love how it's different from most dresses that you see... yet it's still very bridal! I also LOVE the back!!
  22. Welcome! I checked out your website and I love your work! I look forward to seeing if anyone books you and how beautiful their photos turn out
  23. I say do it! Like Becks said, the nice candy shell will typically save the chocolate from making a huge mess right away. I think it'll work just fine! And it's so symbolic! Cute!!
