  1. $46 includes dinner and an open bar I would get the mugs if you can afford them. Everyone used them from our group. Excursions... the public beach in Tulum where i had my TTD done was AMAZING~! and it has a super cute restaurant on the beach and bar. Decent prices. It also has a bunch of activities like wind surfing you can do.
  2. Wow! That's all new to me! The Mayan Ceremony and the Sunshine ceremony? It says it can be celebrated on the beach for the ceremony and the dinner??
  3. I booked my April wedding in September... and April is a VERY busy month... Not sure it helps, but just letting you know!
  4. Yup, that's what I had. You need 50 guests (unless you can convince them to make an exception for you). It's $46 per person for dinner & drinks and then $150 an hour for the DJ. The reception will be held by the pool from 7:30-10:30 Hope that helps!
  5. Here are my experiences: I have used Crest white strips... basically every type they make. I've never heard that I'm not supposed to swallow... and I do quite regularly... I hope I'm not going to die! Anyways, they worked amazingly! It doesn't matter which type I get (the expensive or the cheapest) they all have th same results. I typically only have to use half a box and my teeth are SO white that if I used the other half I'd end up looking like a Friend's episode! So that works out spiffy because my DH uses the other half of the box! My teeth do get sensitive... but it's typically only when I do two right after each other. Then my teeth hurt really bad! Good luck!
  6. Morning! The only way to have a religious ceremony performed in English at this resort is to be married at home... just like you said. So, if that's what you'd like to do then it's possible at the GBP Tulum.
  7. Amanda... this is the e-mail that I wrote to Yuritzia... and what she replied back to me with... For the dinners that you attached, will it be OK that I will have less than 50 people attending? I thought I would have to choose the Grill option which is for groups of thirty. Please let me know. In this case the Grill option can't be performed for a wedding dinner because the set up it's with disposable cutlery and dishes, you will have to choose a thematic dinner and I can make a big exception if you are a minimum of 35 people otherwise you will have to have your dinner at the Dolce Vita restaurant, Italian food (it's the one that I have available)
  8. That looks like so much fun!!!! You guys must have had a blast! Cute undies
  9. Hmmm... I asked for the Mixed grill option and they said I couldn't do it! What a bummer. Then again, she only charged me for 35 people for the theme dinner. The other difference is the theme dinner is served on china... the other dinners are not (the description that they send you makes this very confusing!).
  10. WOW! Those alterations really made a difference! YOu look so beautiful in that dress! I'm glad you love it.
  11. Well Ann, if you need us, just let us know. My mom actually is the one that needs the most advanced notice and she would probably need 3 weeks. Which stinks because you probably won't know that far in advance! Sorry! Other than that, my father and I are very flexible so we can pretty much take off whenever we need to. So... let us know
  12. I'm going to agree that I see way more value in the mugs than I do with the cups. Mostly because it was SO hot at our wedding that everyone appreciated the insulated part of the mug! And it appears that the fact it had a handle was a big hit too?!?!
  13. Yup, they offer private receptions. They are $46 per person. There are three meal types. The $46 covers the meal and the open bar... and of course all of the servers
  14. I upgraded so I could have my own domain name. I thought it was free too? OOO, did you put a bunch of pictures on it? I know you get a free trial of the upgrades when you first sign up? Perhaps that's what will expire?
  15. Okay... I have a few ideas... may seem crazy but, here goes. So, my family owns a class A RV. We've taken many, many, many cross country trips with this beast and my dad LOVES driving it. in fact the dork was just talking about how he wants to go out west. So... option A (obviously I haven't talked to my father yet... but he's always down for a good travel!). So, possibly we could drive out to California and pick you guys up and drive back home. Since we live in Wisconsin, MN isn't far at all. Obviously there is the cost of fuel right now, so you'd have to consider that, but I'd guess it'd be a lot cheaper than renting an RV! And since we'd make a vacation out of it, we'd need to know a little in advance so we can leave early and plan some stops on the way out to California! Or, you guys could take the train part way and we could meet you any where along the route. Option 2 via Trisha: We can drive our RV down to the Chicago train station and pick you guys up and take you home. I know it's not THAT long of a drive from Chicago to MN, but with a premie it might be. So, sadly those are all the options I have. I'm really sorry you are in this prediciment... but hopefully it'll all work out. PM me if any of these ideas are appealing to you. UPDATE - FYI: I have talked with my parents and they are willing to do this! It'd still be expensive though Around $2,500 just for gas!
  16. Yuritzia set up my rehearsal dinner in the main Akumal buffet. She actually blocked off a section so it was only for our guests... and it was free! And we didn't stay there long. We ate and then went to the bars and hung out. I wouldn't necessarily waste a lot of money on a rehearsal dinner... not to mention, you don't get to rehearse! As for the cash... yup, our DJ had to be paid in cash, in full before the event. As for our private reception, that we paid on our credit card at the end of the stay.
  17. I love Jason and Jesse. Those are my two winners but I really hope Jason wins. he is just SO sweet! he seems like such a nice guy and they were so comfortable together. It was just sweet. I loved it. Chef boy... oh how i hated him! I LOVED how Deanna didn't let him kiss her! Ha! That was hilarious!!
  18. As far as March and spring breakers go... you'll probably have some, but the resort says they don't allow people under 21 to book rooms? Not sure how that is done. But, one thing to keep in mind is that if Easter is in March it'll be really busy. So make sure your guests book early! Don't worry about crowds though... the place is so large that you never feel over crowded! You'll love it!
  19. I would PM Leigh Miller too. She's a photographer, but she's VERY good at recommending wedding coordinators or event planners... at least it seems like she is by reading her blogs!
  20. Oh her fuzzy little head is SO cute!!! And those cheeks! She just makes me want to smooch her!
  21. Oh my goodness! That is SO exciting! I have always wanted to be pregnant with at least one of my friends... but my sister! That would be so awesome!! They will be such close cousins!
  22. Ow she is just precious!!! I love when they wake up and stretch and get that pouty look. SO darn cute!
  23. I went into it with the same attitude. if something happens, just do the symbolic ceremony and get married in the courthouse when we get home. There really is nothing else you CAN do!
  24. Happy anniversary Tammy! I hope you guys have a wonderful day today!!
