  1. Hi Moon Palace brides! i don't mean to invade, but I am a blog stalker of random photographers and I came across this one... I'm not sure if it's been posted already, and if so, I'm sorry. But, I thought you might like to see even more pictures. I know I couldn't get enough!! whitebox - {photo blog} - the big day: lili + corey, cancun,*mexico
  2. I like the reflection idea better than the shadow. I think it's more intersting. I really like the 'from the eye of my husband' type idea with sunglasses. Or maybe a reflection in a puddle on one of your hiking trails??

We were thinking of doing the mixed grill for dinner by the pool, and then following it by the "dance, drink" reception by the pool with two hours with the DJ. During the dinner we would most likely just play our Ipod on our sound dock, but we thought this might be fun. So I guess in total, guest would be there for about 3-4 hours. Does this sound like a good idea? I love my friends, but they keep relating everything here to a wedding at home, so it is difficult to get good opinions... What do you guys think?? Just as a warning... we wanted to do the Mixed Grill. 1. Because it didn't require 50 people. 2. because it was cheaper. however we were NOT allowed. they said that option is NOT for weddings and they won't do it. So make sure you confirm that with them before you get down there. it would be really disappointing to tell all of your guests you'll be eating under the stars and then not be able to. As for the dance, drink by the pool... that's exactly what we did. The timeline is 7:30-10:30... 7:30-8:30 being the dinner.

Did you have the trio play after your ceremony or during? Do you think it's cheesy to get the trio, is it better to just go with CDs? Thanks! I don't have updated prices for the poolside reception, sorry. However I did have the Mexican Trio. I actually had requested (and paid for) the Mariachi... but the trio showed up. I had them play at my cocktail hour (in the Akumal Lobby Bar... free). And they were perfect. It really set the mood. But for the ceremony and the reception I just stuck with CDs.
  5. Tammy, you are so talented! I love these pictures! SO cute!!!
  6. I had the blood tests done and it's not a big deal at all. They actually used to require blood tests in the US too... but have since stopped. Basically, I was told you can't have STD's, AIDS, or be brother & sister!
  7. Your pictures are so beautiful. You looked like a princess. I LOVE your hair!!
  8. I am SO jealous! I've been looking for classes just like that around here, but there aren't any. I could take a 3 credit normal college course... but who has time for that? Not to mention, I don't want to take a course with a bunch of slackers who are only taking it for easy credits. Boo. I want to live by you!
  9. That's so cute! Your daughter must have thought she was the coolest kid there!
  10. It is true. The beach is pretty rocky. It didn't stop our guests from playing it in though. One really nice thing about the beach being rocky is that the wedding location on the Akumal side is NOT swimmable. Which means you don't end up with bikinis and speedos in your wedding photos!! The disco is pretty much the same distance from all of the resorts. They all require a tram ride and it's about 10-15 minutes total.
  11. obviously I'm more towards AKumal. I LOVED Akumal. It's slightly newer than Tulum and I LOVED my wedding site. It was perfect!! Yuritzia is terrible with e-mail communications, but once you get there she delivers 110%
  12. Yup, I paid for it via credit card. And there was not an extra fee for getting it converted. HOWEVER< your DJ MUST be paid IN CASH before the wedding.
  13. Look at how beautiful she is in her cute little pink hat! What a princess! Congratulations!
  14. I chose #2 because that's the kind that we had. The handle proved quite handy and everyone loved them.
  15. Your photographer is really good... and I love the style of your engagement shoot. You guys look great!
  16. Everything looks so great! I can't wait to see the pictures of everything being used at your wedding!!!!
  17. If you are only 5'1" then I'd go with Lazaro 1... but make sure you try them all on. They look MUCH different on you than they do in the pictures of the models.
  18. Okay... I would NOT bring tealights! I did. I brough 20 pounds of tealights in my luggage. HUGE waste! They didn't stay lit at all because it was so windy, so it was just stupid of me! I did bring/make my own table runners though. I really thought it broke up the white table beautifully. I'd also recommend maybe a small flower arrangement on the tables? I would ask them if they could take one rose for each table from your free arangements for your wedding location and place them in a square glass container on the tables. Know what I mean? I think that would add a nice punch of color.
  19. They pipe music in at all the lobby bars, there has to be a way they can pipe in your first dance song... If you have an Ipod and docking station, i'd bring it. Otherwise bring the song on a CD and MAKE them play it! Is it a popular song? I know a lot of the musicians take requests. Perhaps you can have them do a live version of the song you guys want?
