  1. OOO, Thailand! That's really exciting! There are a ton of boarding pass invitations and luggage tag templates out on this forum. simply plop the names into the search function and you'll be amazed at the awesome ideas these ladies have come up with! Have a wonderful time planning!!
  2. Welcome! yes, Dreams Los Cabo is an AMAZING resort that many women on this forum have gotten married at. You will love it. It's beautiful!!!
  3. Congratulations Mary! Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find a lot of very useful information here!
  4. I think it's wonderful that you've decided to splurge on the photographer! You won't regret it! Also, the great photographer won't make your real smile come out... being married to the love of your life in the most beautiful place imaginable will make the true smile come out!
  5. The Mariachi will be a 5-8 piece band that will play more festive music... however for a wedding I would imagine they'd play appropriate music. I had the trio for my cocktail hour and it was very nice. I think either way you'd be happy. The only question is, if you get a free hour... do you really want to use it for your ceremony where they'll only play for 10 minutes? Or would you rather have a cocktail hour where they'll play the whole time?
  6. I know! Some day I'd like to photograph a wedding at the Bahia (since I know the resort pretty well) and that's where I'd do the trash the dress. It's SO beautiful and the sand is powder soft. It'd be amazing!
  7. I went Carnival both times. I wouldn't worry too much about doing the legal part in the Caymans. people do it every single day off of cruise ships. It will be beautiful!
  8. When we went to Grand Cayman (Twice on a cruises actually) we went snorkeling and to the sting ray city. my BIGGEST recommendation is NOT booking with the ship. It's ridiculous! They pull up in a boat of about 200 people! You are lucky if you get a picture with a sting ray. We booked through shoretrips.com both times and you are in a boat with 20 people maximum. it's awesome. Everyone gets to fed them, hold them, kiss them... and they actually have time to teach you about the animals. I loved it. It's also within walking distance to the bus that will take you to the boat (from the port that is)
  9. Alright, well first off, wear proper shoes! Flip flops will be dangerous! I did it... but I fell a few times. Basically go south from the Akumal Golden Club villas. It's all rocks and be careful because creatures (giant lizards mostly) live underneath the rocks and tend to scamper out and scare you (hense falling! ). Okay, so just keep going along the beach and you'll get there. I'd say it's about a 10-15 minute walk. It's in a cove so until you are in a definite cove... you aren't there!

Welcome Wendi! I'm sorry you're already having a little bit of a tough time. Don't worry, this forum will be invaluable to you! You'll have such an amazing wedding! Best wishes!!!
  11. Very nice! I love your orange dress!!! Using a timer that must have took you guys quite some time... but the results are worth it!
  12. Welcome Mesita! You're wedding will be here in no time! What else do you all have planned so far?
  13. Oh that jewelry looks perfect! It will match your dress just perfectly! She is very talented!!
  14. OOO, I've been to Grand Cayman via cruise... it's awesome! You have chosen a gorgeous place for a wedding! What cruise line are you taking? As for the requirements, there was someone on our boat who got married there, and yes... they both had to do the paperwork.
  15. I would say you are on the right track by joining the forum! Start searching around here for a general idea of what you'd like, then that will help your TA find you the perfect place. So, places to start: Obviously you said you need children. Do you want all-inclusive? Do you want close to town? Do you want to be married in a church, gazebo, beach, or garden? How far from the airport do you want to go? Do you want to be close to activities, like cenotes or Xcaret? Do you want a large resort or a small quaint resort? Do you want many dinner choices, or just a few? Do you want your reception indoors or outdoors? And most important... what's your budget... and the budget of your guests!!!!
  16. Personally, I would use tan. Black is a beautiful and simple color that looks great all the time, but it might be too much of a contrast with the light sand and bright sun. Not to mention sweaty! But, if you choose a tea length flowy dress then it shouldn't be a problem!
  17. Well what the heck, I'll post them anyways! Oh, this would be a GREAT place for a TTD session, as long as your photographer is willing to make the walk with all their equipment. It's amazing!!! There is an abandoned hotel which would be just AWESOME!
  18. Oh, I do! There is a "secret" beach located just around the corner. It's a dangerous walk... but it is beautiful!!!! If you'd like, feel free to e-mail me and I can send you some small versions first to see if you like them.
  19. Welcome Stephanie! I had my trash the dress session in Tulum and it is just breath taking! You will love it and it will make for a beautiful place to get married!
  20. AHHH! Wisconsin bride!!! yippee! How fun! Where in Wisconsin are you from? I live near Milwaukee. I got married April 11th, 2008 in Riviera Maya. It's beautiful. You will have so much fun down there. Feel free to contact me if you have any quesitons... we could even get together depending on where you live in Wisconsin!!
  21. I LOVE these pictures!!!! They are so beautiful! You have a gorgeous family! And it looks like you guys had so much fun!!
