  1. Oh she is SO cute! Will you be keeping the name Sadie?
  2. Welcome Terese! I'm glad you have decided to stop lurking and join us! I hope you find everything you're looking fore!
  3. I don't think that will work better than scissors, mostly because it might not be as accurate. How many do you have to do?
  4. I would suggest she carries it with her. You can only legally take three lenses into Mexico, so it won't be SO much stuff... but I wouldn't trust any of my equipment in the room while I'm gone.
  5. i used the scissors for the "v"s... it actually wasn't that bad. Now, for the creases, I used my pampered chef stone cleaner thingy-ma-bob. it's a brown plastic square with a straight edge... just run that across your seem and you have a beautiful fold!
  6. That's sad. Even though it's for the best, and obviously better for her... it still must hurt to see one of your friends in that position. I'm sure she was bowing out of the movie nights and things like that so that you guys wouldn't talk about the wedding and put her on the spot. Maybe now that you know the truth she'll be able to do those things
  7. Welcome to the forum! I'm sure that the lovely men and women here will be of great assistance to you during your six months... and then you'll probably become like a bunch of us and stay well after your wedding too!
  8. Here is the spa menu from last year. Obviously some prices might have changed, but you can get a general idea... As for the rain out location... I'm sorry! i wish I would have taken a picture. i can try and explain it though. It's basically a reception hall at a hotel. It's mostly white, so any decor will work and it has a large area just outside of it which would work nicely for cocktails or just socializing. It's actually quite bright for being in a basement. 9. Welcome!!! Oh how I LOVE LV!!! How exciting!! I love the idea of the Valley of Fire. That place is gorgeous and you will have some amazing wedding photos!!!!

My wedding is in 9 weeks!!! I need to find my photographer quick....... How much are you thinking you'd like to spend? Could you fly in your own photographer? Just looking at Expedia, and I always look from my hometown... but to fly a photographer and an assistant out to Vegas for two nights would only be around $600. Perhaps you could contact a photographer and see if they'd be willing to do it as a portfolio builder. I know I would. I love Vegas! You could even maybe do fly in a photogarpher for three nights and then do a trash the dress session the day after! Looking at Expedia it looks like that would only be $100-$200 more! What a deal!!

    Hi All!

Welcome! That is so exciting! Isla Mujeres looks SO beautiful! I'm sure your wedding will be spectacular!
  13. Welcome! How exciting! Your wedding will be here before you know it! Best Wishes!
  14. Yeah, i would say this question is best answered when you learn how big your bank is! Do you want to spend $500 or $2000? What is your budget for photos. Also, sometimes it's better to find a photographer that you love and fly them down with you! This way you get more coverage for your wedding, more photos, and typically a much better price.
  15. I think that's a very good choice! And I'm glad that you are staying with what works best for YOU and your FI! Congratulations on booking!!!
  16. Welcome to the forum! Cancun is BEAUTIFUL! Which resort will you be staying at? Good luck! Let me know if you need anything!
  17. rain back-up... if you have a poolside reception then for Akumal the rain backup is Club Coba. It's in the basement of the Akumal Lobby. It's almost wedding time! Congratulations!! I have answered below in red. Quote: Originally Posted by BeachyBlonde Ladies! Now my questions! Did you ladies do a rehearsal? If so, when did that happen? I did not do a rehearsal nor were we allowed to... however I'm sure you could organize your own if you wanted. However, I did notice that with a wedding coordinator they basically tell you where to go and when so you don't really need a rehearsal. If you added readings to your ceremony, when did you give the readings to the officiant? I added a sand ceremony and I gave the paperwork to the coordinator during the meeting before the wedding. The officiant did NOT read it however. I had a guest do this. So I'm not sure. Sorry. Did you meet the officiant before the wedding? NOPE Were you able to take off your all inclusive bracelets for the wedding and get new ones afterwards? (I don't want the bracelets in my pictures! ) Yup. The wedding couple, bridesmaids/groomsmen, and parents are allowed to cut theirs off for the day. Did you do welcome bags in the rooms? If so, how were they distributed? Also, were you able to bring food for the bags? I remember reading that you can't bring food into Mexico... I did weclome bags, however I just handed them out. There was a lot of weirdness with our rooms and I didn't trust them to hand them out. I did not have food in mine. Were you able to get a listing of the guests and what rooms they are in? It would be nice for my guests to be able to find each other No. However if you asked VERY nicely they would tell you where they were located (section and approx room number). I think that's all for now, thanks SO much, in advance, for any info that you can share. I'll be around a LOT between now and when we leave on Nov 12th! Best wishes and have fun!!!
  18. Welcome! I did my trash the dress session in tulum and it was just breath taking! You will LOVE it! Which resort are you thinking?
  19. Welcome! i stayed at the Gran Bahia Riviera Maya Akumal... I had my wedding there and it actually was quite private... however I understand your concerns. There are a LOT of beautiful places down in the Riviera Maya (such as Tulum or Akumal) that would be beautiful for a private wedding. The Riviera Maya also tends to be cheaper for your guests than the Carribean. Best of luck and congratulations on your engagement!
  20. After our TTD (we started at 8 am the day after the wedding) I used an outdoor shower and rinsed off, and then I simply hung it up in our room until we left two days later. It was still a bit damp so hanging it outside probably would have been a better option, but I was afraid it might get stained from the balcony or the one above us?? Anyways, I just folded it nicely into a plastic bag and I put it in my then-empty (was OOT bag suitcase) suitcase for the ride home. Once I got home I took it to the dry cleaners. Funny story... my friend just got married and she took her dress to the same place I did. She mentioned my wedding and that I did a trash the dress in the ocean... THE CLEANING PEOPLE KNEW ME! Ha! this is 6 months AFTER my wedding and they still remembered my wedding dress because it was SO full of sand and they had to shut down and clean their machines... twice!! WHOOPS!
  21. Ah! I can remember how excited I was when my dress finally came in, so you must be estatic! So much is happening for you right now! I'm really excited for you Jaime!
  22. I know you PM'd me... but in case anyone else is interested it is a font on DaFont. Hibiscus Font | dafont.com
