  1. Welcome Bess! You will definitely find a lot of information on here about the little details of your big day! Enjoy your research!
  2. We flew in our photographer, so we really had unlimited time. I think we did four hours. The first 45 minutes at the hotel. Then the travel time to get to Tulum, then the walking... oh the walking. Then we played at the beach for 3 hours. OMG was I starving when we were done!!!
  3. I don't usually wear makeup, so I didn't want to wear too much. I just applied it myself. My hair... that was fun. Yeah, I slept in it (on purpose) so that it would stay pinned up and curly. Then in the morning I let the pins out and put it in a side pony. I actually really like how "natural" it looked. I almost like it better than my wedding hair!
  4. it's like Dejavu! I had the SAME issue! I ordered my dress. It came in in January... it was AWFUL! Terrible. it made me cry just looking at it. I hated it. Of course everyone thought it was pretty... but I had to feel like a princess on my wedding day and that dress made me feel like crap. So I 100% know what you are saying! I hope that you are able to sell it!!!
  5. Holy Toledo! you leave next week... that's nuts! Okay, here are my experiences... BUT I was at the Akumal side... Quote: Originally Posted by BeachyBlonde My question right now is about the Spa. I've heard they don't use curling irons but rather a flat iron to curl your hair (this doesn't make sense to me) and I also heard that they burned some girls ends. Correct. They used a flat iron to curl my hair... and my hair was pretty much on fire. I planned on chopping it when I got home anyways, so it didn't bug me. Plus the curls stayed in all day! Then I heard that they were great and there were not problems. I would still say they were great. They DO NOT speak English though, so bring a picture of EXACTLY what you want! Can anyone help me with this?? Thanks so much.
  6. Oh wow! That wedding is gorgeous!!!!! What a great place to get married!
  7. The judge allowed the sand ceremony for my wedding. I wonder why they stopped? Of course I had to put the sand ceremony AFTER the legal wedding... but that didn't bug me.
  8. Oh wow! That W hotel would be awesome!!!! it's actually not too expensive either. I just threw a date out there of the 17th of January and the suites are only around $200. If you get enough ladies together that's very cheap! A loft would be really cool too actually. Especially one with a more industrial feel. Aimee, who were you planning on having doing them in Madison?
  9. Ellen should take it to court. It'd get enough publicity that everyone would be forced to actually pay attention and not just sweep her under the rug...
  10. I had this problem too with my inkjet. I ended up having to take them to work and using a laser printer. I have NO idea why it caused the problem, but I think because it used so many rollers and the little envelope was so tiny that it just got stuck along the way. Good luck!
  11. You two should look into sharing a photographer! Some might not be willing to do it, because it'd be a full week... but some would JUMP at the chance. So basically you guys could fly in a really great photographer to be your guest at the wedding for approximately $2,000 in airfare and hotel... and then split the costs. Make sure you remember that option when you are presented with the resort photographers. You could probably even find another bride who's getting married at a different Palace resort that same week and split the costs in three!
  12. So, I was looking at hotels that would be awesome for a boudoir session in Chicago... and so I thought I'd share my findings! In my professional opinion, the Hard Rock Hotel or the Amalfi Hotel in Chicago would be awesome. Both offer contemporary furniture with some super fun twists!!! I looked at the FANCY hotels too... but a lot of the decor looked very elegant. Now, why would that be a bad thing? Technically it's not and you could get some amazing photos... however I think the more clean line modern type stuff makes the focus of the photo on YOU and let's face it... that's what your fiance wants!!!
  13. Congratulations!!! How fun is that to have a weddingmoon baby! Very, very exciting. I just hope the morning sickness passes quickly for you.
  14. Internet access is for the diamond members only (or so it was last year) there is a little room with 2-3 computers. As for bringing your own laptop, make sure you have a laptop lock to keep it safe in your room.
  15. Welcome! My birthday is January 23rd... so I obviously think you picked a great date! And since I'm from Wisconsin, the first thing I think about in regards to weather on my birthday is ice (i was born in an ice storm). So I'm ALL FOR the ice palace! I think it's a beautiful property. It was on a destination wedding tv show awhile back. gorgeous!!!!
  16. Sorry I missed this Tammy! I hope you had a great birthday!!
  17. Worse case scenario... consider it an improvement to the dress. obviously it's not what you had pictured, but everything has it's flaws in life. It's like a marriage, it's a BEAUTIFUL thing, however you'll have ups and downs. The beautiful part is when you can look past the little flaws and see it for the beauty that it is. And if it's only on your train perhaps it's not that noticable? Also, it's now a one-of-a-kind dress that nobody else will ever have. It's your special dress. However, I would say that $200 off is definitely a good starting point! perhaps even say $250 in hopes that they will try and negotiate and come down to $200.
  18. This resort sounds so beautiful. I would really like to see photos, since I am considering this resort for our one year anniversary trip!
  19. AHH! Yippee! I can't wait to hear more about it! Have a great remainder of your trip and then hurry home and tell us everything!!!
  20. congratulations Amanda! I'm so excited to read your review and see pictures!!!!! Good luck Carrie! I hope you guys have an amazing time! Just remember to not stress the small stuff and really soak everything in. Enjoy the time with your family and friends. And as for the negative review on Trip Advisor... sounds to me like she didn't book with a travel agent. Almost every issue that she had problems with could have been quickly avoided or taken care of with a phone call to her travel agent. I know we had some issues along our way as well and our travel agent went into battle for us so we didn't have to dispute anything and could just relax.

    Hi!!!!

Welcome my neighbor to the south!!! I had my wedding in Riviera Maya and although I didn't use Jazmin, I can pretty much tell you that your wedding will be amazing!!! Congratulations and please feel free to contact me if I can help you with anything!
  22. My rings are actually worth five digits and I was also very nervous about this. My husband wouldn't even let me SEE my wedding band much less wear it before the wedding. So... I wore my wedding ring the WHOLE time. I never ONCE took it off (p.s. it was NASTY when I got home from all the salt water, chlorine, and sun tan lotion). And then we actually DUCT taped my wedding ring and Shawn's ring to the underside of a drawer in the dresser. Given they could have found it if they would have looked... but I thought it was safer than putting it where everyone would know where it was!
  23. Morgan, have you thought about printing them at Mpix? You can do individual ones there...
  24. Welcome Jamie! Your wedding is RIGHT around the corner! Are you SO excited? Congratulations and best wishes!
