  1. i just brought a roll from Hobby Lobby that was about 1 1/2 inches thick. It was MORE than enough. I gave it to the WC along with my pictures of what I wanted the flowers (and the wrap) to look like. She gave it to the florist and everything turned out brilliant!
  2. I brought my ribbon and pins for all of our bouquets. it worked out perfect and they returned the unused ribbon and pins.
  3. have you contacted any photographers? If you don't want to pay a ton, the best route is to contact photographers who you like their style. If they want an excuse for a vacation... or a portfolio build... a lot of them will offer to photograph your wedding (and more) for a very low fee plus travel expenses. Some will do it JUST for travel expenses. so... start contacting photographers. That's what I did for my wedding and it worked out amazingly well!
  4. That is an awesome dress! And as for the veil, I say one tier... 100000%
  5. LOVE them!!!!! I can't wait to see more!!!! What a tease!
  6. I really like them Morgan. You're such a great friend! Your friends will love the extra time you spent on them!!!
  7. I was barefoot and loved it. All of my ladies were barefoot, and some of our guests. We just kicked our flip flops off in a bush by the snack bar before we walked down. Loved it. Then after the wedding one our guests went and got all the shoes so we could begin our trek down the beach taking photos. Now, for the curling iron, you shouldn't have a problem.
  8. LOL. Yeah... you sound just like me!! Trust me, you'll find a great photographer for a great deal! Just wait for it! How far away from Chicago are you?
  9. I ordered mine this morning! It actually took FOREVER last night, but this morning it was SUPER fast. It will be very interesting to see the quality of Snapfish versus my professional printint companies.
  10. You're welcome! Now remember to be patiant and wait for all of their responses! I know that was the hardest part for me. I was just so excited to book a photographer that I jumped rather quickly before hearing the quotes from everybody. Another great resource, by the way is the WPPI website. You can search for photographers by city and then it lists their contact information and their websites. Happy hunting!
  11. Well, just remember to not jump at the first one you see. Make sure you do your research. Your wedding is plenty far away that you can take a few weeks if you need to!
  12. OOO, a baby puppy!!?!?! That'd be SO awesome! What's really cool is if you do them during the winter you could even do some skating rink pictures! That'd be awesome. I like the Chicago idea!
  13. I think it depends on what you guys want. 1. Mackinaw Island would be awesome. It has such a charm to it and beautiful views and locations. Would be awesome. 2. Chicago pretty much speaks for itself. AMAZING photo opportunities. 3. Playa is beautiful... but that's also where all of your wedding photos will be taken. Will you want something a little different? 4. Ruins in Mexico would be really cool... but I know there is some touchy subjects regarding professional photos at the ruins. Although I think engagement pictures would be fine. So... it's really up to you!
  14. Very beautiful Alyssa. Hawaii certainly is a gorgeous setting for a gorgeous wedding isn't it?!?! Wow.
  15. Welcome to the forum! There are a lot of brides from both places you have listed, but especially Dreams Tulum. I think you will find a ton of information to help you make your decision!
  16. Welcome Lacy! New York City is AMAZING! I got engaged there and I loved every minute of it! Where in New York will you guys be exchanging vows? And where are you planning on the having the reception
  17. Yup, I ditto what Stacy said... and honestly, I thought the DJ was a good investment. He played great music and had a lot of fun with us too!
  18. 1. I am a rate analyst at an insurance company. I'm the person who helps set the rates for personal insurance (home & auto). If I could change carriers it would be to wedding photography. 2. My favorite hobby is photography... duh! 3. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love it. It's always freezing here in WI, so the fire place is always going and we get to wear nice warm sweaters... and then the entire family gets together. And it's a get together that NOBODY is expecting presents at!!! We're just getting together to be with each other and I love that! 4. Greatest achievement would be graduating college December 8th of this year. so technically I haven't yet... but my grade in my final class is at a point where I can't fail! Okay, #5... what is your favorite animal... and why?
  19. Welcome to the forum Trish! Punta Cana is beatiful! Your wedding is bound to be gorgeous! Congratulations!!
  20. Yup, my must have this Xmas is my shootsac! It's a camera bag that I feel is a NEED!
  21. Welcome to the site Kelly!!! Oh there were just pictures posted from that resort and MAN is it amazing! You are one lucky duck!
  22. Welcome my neighbor to the south!!! I'm sure you'll be able to have a fantastic wedding in four months! No worries!!! And both Jamaica and the Bahamas are amazing locations, so either way you are good to go!
  23. 1. My groom wore a suit and the groomsmen just wore matching pants and then a white shirt. They all wore the same brown flip flops. I actually thought it looked very nice. 2. My guests wore whatever they wanted on their feet. Some were bare feet, some wore heels, some just wore flip flops. That was more their choice. 3. My bridesmaids went barefoot. My sister didn't like it... but hey, I hated my dress at her wedding and I still wore it! Basically, if you want them barefoot, they should be able to handle it. Otherwise I did buy them all flip flop wedges. I figured that would look better than flat flip flops if the sand was too difficult to walk on.
