  1. I would do a basket for the flower girl. To save space while packing, just pack it full of stuff (swimming suits, underwear, socks, etc). As for seating plans, I have seen it done multiple times. The wedding coordinator should be able to take care of it for you. Otherwise maybe just a seating plan for the main table and let your other guests choose their seats? They do offer steaming for your dress if it's needed.
  2. Ignore them. They will attend the meeting with your wedding coordinator, at which time you can give them your signature on the cancellation document.
  3. Some of the more recent brides will be able to answer the fabric question, but back when I got married they did not have colored fabric for the hammock ceremony site, they did however have colored bows for the chairs and linens for the tables... but you have to pay extra for them. I brought my own down, it was very cheap. You do not have to get the DJ, you can get an ipod docking station, although I do recommend the DJ. Photographers, the price can sometimes end up the same, although it can be cheaper to fly one in. The big difference is what you get for that money. The resort photographer, you get 160 images for the same price that you'd fly in a photographer for full day coverage and 500-1000 images! Many people even have engagement photography sessions, rehearsal dinner photography, or a day after (trash the dress) photo session with the photographer they have flown in.
  4. Welcome! They don't do receptions on the beach, however you can have a poolside party. The beach is too windy, too dark, and also gets bad bugs at night.
  5. Yes, I do believe that is true. Small groups are easier to accommodate.
  6. Well, they are coming down specifically for your wedding. It's not like they were coming down for a vacation and then happen to go to your wedding where you're taking away from their vacation time. I don't think your guests will be upset at all by this.
  7. Welcome Amandah86! Yup, that is typical. You can select a vegetarian option, if that is of concern though.
  8. Oh exciting!! I leave the 5th. If you see the crazy gal with a camera, say hi!
  9. I paid with credit card and my credit card didn't charge exchange rates. Have you checked with your card?
  10. Sorry, I can see it all and the links are working for me. Have you tried from a different computer?
  11. I believe on their website it says they have purified water, but I wouldn't know for sure. I do know that although I DO NOT use the faucet water for anything that goes in my mouth, all I drink at the resort is water and fruit drinks (no alcohol) and I've never gotten sick. I trust it.
  12. Thank you so much for those who brought it to my attention that my links were not working properly on this page. I have updated them.
  13. Yippee! I will be photographing an amazing wedding at the Gran Bahia the first week in May. So for any other brides who are getting married then, if you see me, say hi!!
  14. My wedding day schedule differs based on the client. I have done photos before the ceremony and most certainly after. It really depends how quickly your photographer works. If they aren't comfortable with the 40 minutes you'll have between the ceremony and sunset, and suggested portraits before then that's probably what you'll need to do. I'd still ask to do some night time portraits with off camera flash, because there are so many awesome opportunities, but doing pictures before might be best (if you're comfortable seeing each other before the ceremony. If not, then the photographer will just have to work fast). My typical schedule (move up an hour if the ceremony starts at 3) 4pm Wedding 4:20 pm Toast 4:25-4:40pm Group formals 4:40-5pm Bridal Party 5-5:30pm Bride & Groom 5:30-6pm B&G refresh, possibly more portraits if they have special requests 6pm entrance into dinner
  15. I don't believe it includes hair and makeup, as I've photographed brides with outside vendors for this. However the rules always chane so verify with your coordinator.
  16. Gallardo, your work is beautiful, it truly is. However the Gran Bahia DOES NOT allow vendors from Mexico to be hired, so sadly nobody in this thread can hire you. I'd hate for someone to get confused and lose out on a deposit or something like that.
  17. Hmmm... I never actually noticed! There's always so much chatter that I couldn't tell you if there is music playing. I'm sorry! Here is a picture with an arrow pointing to where the hammocks hang during the day. You can see a little "patio" area in front of it, that's where the first dance was. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/227508/width/500/height/1000[/img]

Thanks Here is a wedding I photographed that had a Coba Poolside Reception. http://faberphotography.com/weddings/cheryl-aaron-gran-bahia-principe-coba-destination-wedding-photos/2012 You can see there are high top tables and chairs all set up. It's not just a walkway. There is also a really nice area for the first dance which you can also see pictured. It's in front of the hammock location (hammocks removed).
  19. There were rust marks and tiny broken sections of the fence around it when I was there last, but you really can't tell too much. I have a bunch of photos on my photo tour that you can see: http://faberphotography.com/gran-bahia-principe-tulum-resort-photo-tour/
