  1. Sorry Toby, this is off topic - but I love your new siggy pic! Now we can see what you really look like!

I thought you were going to stop calling her your "friend Marti who has a wedding in May"?!
  3. Hey Bridget, welcome to the forum!!! Let us know if you have any questions.

Umm, as a very close friend of mine - you're invited to my wedding!!!!
  5. am I cheap?!? lol I always give $200/couple. Or if I hardly know them that well, I'll go less than that - down to $100ish/couple. Ha - and you thought you were cheap!!!

Thanks Melissa
  8. Your first dress is so gorgeous anyways. I loved it!! I'm glad you came to a decision though! Woot!! 9. Well, I might be useless since i haven't even bought my dress, but what the heck! lol How big is the space? I think you should put on your dress and wear it around for like half an hour, sit down, walk around, dance - everything that you would do and see if you feel too sucked in or restricted. Is it an incredibly noticable space?
  10. I was watching one of those reality tv wedding planning shows (seriously, anything related to wedding and I'll stop whatever I'm doing to give it my full attention!) and the WC on there said "She may not like my ideas, but I know whats best for her wedding. She'll know I'm right in the end!". It actually pissed me off. It doesn't matter if her way is the "right" way - it was this lady's dream wedding and the WC wasn't planning what the bride wanted. Ya ya, the bride was happy in the end - blah blah blah. Anyways, that comment just really pissed me off when I saw that (I get really into these shows!), put your foot down - this is what you want!! What kind of a restaurant can't host 25 people??! Are you going to have dancing and all that jazz? Maybe that's why its too small?

    Hello

Welcome to the forum!! Let us know if you have any questions! ...and be sure to post your engagement stories (and pictures if you have them), I love reading those!
  12. Whats the resort, if you don't mind my asking.. Ya, you can have your dinner there and no it won't be private - but if you don't pay the amount of $$ for the reception (whatever that fee might be) you're also not guaranteed that you will sit together either. They'll seat all of you where a table is free. IMHO, Unless you have an incredibly small guest list (like, table size - 5ish!) then I don't see why you would want to do this. It's too much stress to try to get everyone to sit together and it's not as personal. If you've got a small group though, then it doesn't really matter - it would be pointless to rent out the space for a reception!
  13. I like #5 the best. I've seen the wording used in the all of the other invites a million times. I think #5 is unique, and fitting for your DW! I agree about the centre though, it is a little overpowering and maybe fading it a bit to the back would help? Then again.. I didn't notice it until someone else mentioned it!!!

I agree though - the general idea of the wording is good. Wow it really shouldn't be this hard to think of the proper wording, but my mind is fuzz!
  15. lol Maria I think its awesome!!! That's so clever. If I received that in the mail I'd laugh, definately. I think even my grandparents would! lol
  16. Ooh Yay!! I want to nominate Jessalyn. She's always super friendly, really positive and more than willing to help no matter how long it takes! ( Thanks Jess!) She'll chime in with great advice, or encourage you on your worst days and cheer you on on your best! I gladly nominate her!
  17. I'm pretty sure all resorts charge for a reception dinner, it is not included in the AI package.... don't quote me on that but I'm like 99.9% sure (...unless I read your question wrong?)
  18. Pssh, I'm jealous of your and your Cabo for five years!!!! I guess you'll probably be giving us a lot more info that the other way around!! When do you leave for the site visit? How long are you going for?? Are you going to use your timeshare for your wedding or are you scoping resorts? Definately post reviews of anywhere/vendors you visit!
  19. hmmm - personally I wouldn't wear a wedding dress I bought for a marriage to another man, even if the wedding didn't happen. That (to me) would be like Aaron giving me an engagement ring he bought for a previous girlfriend. When I buy my dress I want to picture Aaron seeing me in it the first time - I'm buying this dress for my special night with him. I dunno - I really wouldn't wear it, but that's just me and what I'd do.

I think i would have mine the night before the weddding BUT 1- is it rude of me to reuqest another night of my guests time? I think most are thinking of this as a vacation too. I don't want their whole week to be tied to the wedding 2- should I talk to my wc and do this at our resort or find a cool lil restaurant. Ahhh here come all the options again. I don't know whats worse trying to do my invites or plannign a welcome dinner LOL 1) lol - No, it's not rude to ask for another night of their time - or at least I don't think it's rude. They don't have to come if they don't want to... plus, they gotta eat anyways so what's the big deal?! 2)I heard that some resorts will do a bonfire or something - I liked that idea, but since the resort will charge you anyways for the welcome dinner, you might as well see if you can find something on your own - you always have the resort to fall back on.
  21. holy cow - how'd I miss this thread?! Anny, your shower looked awesome! I love the favours, they're so cute. Sorry if I missed your answer to this before, but - how many people were there?! It looks so busy - I'm not even sure I know that many people!
  22. I chose Cabo mainly for the gazebo, I fell completely in love with it. Plus, I'd never been before, so something new (although the site visit will kill that lol). I actually visited Dreams Tulum about a month ago to get a general idea of what cabo would be like - and it wasn't my favourite of the resorts I visited in RM. Most of the rooms faced in towards the resort and at other buildings, I found there weren't too many ocean view rooms, which is what most people want. I did go take a look at the kids club (the explorers club or something like that) it was REALLY neat. They put a lot of work into that. I dunno - Tulum was really nice though, just not my favourite.
  23. I don't think you can bring it on the plane with you. You can always try, but they confinscate those kinds of things when you try to re-enter Canada (and ESPECIALLY if you're connecting through the US)
