  3. Again, another find on MSNBC.com (seriously, between this forum and reading e-articles you gusy must wonder how much I get done!) NEW YORK - Alexander Loucopoulos wasn't afraid he would drop the ring when he proposed to his girlfriend, but he did have another fear. "I was afraid the ring would float really far away," said Loucopoulos, 32, of New York City. When he proposed Saturday to Graciela Asturias, a 27-year-old space enthusiast, they were on a 90-minute zero-gravity flight aboard a Boeing 727. "I asked if she'd marry me, and then the ring just floated in front of her as we floated in zero gravity," he said. She said yes. "I was so surprised," said Asturias. "I'm in total shock." The trip cost $3,500 each and was organized by Space Adventures of Virginia, which also arranged for Charles Simonyi's $20 million flight to space in April. Loucopoulos works as a banker in private equity and Asturias is an architect. "I would like our 10-year anniversary to be in orbit," Loucopoulos said.

  5. Umm ok, Laura - way off topic but I LOVE your new avatar and siggy pictures! We can see you a little better, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say I just can't get enough of little Rayden!!! He's so adorable!
  6. Heidi, that's a tough one! While it's your wedding and you deserve to have it exactly as you picture, you've already asked the other four. Is there any chance that some of them won't go because it's a DW? Honestly, I think if you "unask" them, you risk losing friendships.

I wouldnt mind a pink but I dont want them to look weird. Oh ya, the actual size is 7x5. I don't think they need an accent colour. I'd just print them on some ivory paper - that's your accent colour! lol. I honestly wouldn't mess with them, your invites are beautiful! Oh - and it's not "borrowed", you were just incredibly inspired!!
  8. Alright, since its Monday I feel the urge to congratulate you again lol! Holy crap Sarah - it's your freakin' wedding day! WOOoooHoooOOOOOOO!!! I'm so excited to hear about everything and see the awesome pictures - don't make us wait too long! Congrats again! Yaaaaaaaay!
  9. I hear ya about wanted to look a little spruced up for those pictures, but just be careful not to go overboard - Heidi's right, you do want to look like yourself still! When you do wear makeup, what do you usually wear? I would just apply that, and maybe spruce it up one notch - maybe a different colour eyeshadow or something. Go to wherever it is that you buy your beauty products and ask what goes best with your eye colour to make your eyes pop! And have fun with it! Edited to Add: As for the foundation - I actually love the way that the mousse foundation looks and feels. I think its called Dream Matte Mousse? I'm not sure, I'll go home a check for sure, but it really looks and FEELS good!
  10. Ya, I'm the last one to ask when it comes to something trendy... seriously, but for whatever reason I still feel the need to add my input. You can skip this post if you want! lol. I honestly think that the pink, blue and green are too much. The citron when added with the pink and blue at least adds a nutral and keeps it from getting too busy. I also like the blue, citron and green together (...which now that I see it might end up being my colours, so thanks!), but I realize that the pink was your first pick for colour... anyways. I could easily be way off on this one. I have no vision whatsoever when it comes to this stuff, I can't see in my mind what it would end up looking like. Again, you could have saved yourself some reading and skipped this post!
  11. I think too the photographer can't always anticipate who you want grouped together. I'll probably send my photographer a list, but it'd be super short.. I don't want to stunt their creativity - and if they're too busy taking the shots that I want, who knows - I may have missed out on some of the amazing photos the photographer would have normally taken. I agree with Jonathan in needing to have complete faith in your photographer.
  12. When is your appointment to go? Everytime I see this thread pop up I feel a little nervous for you! Hopefully all goes well, especially since if it does it'll make me feel better when I go lol (I know, I'm so selfish!)

I guess that's how I'd look at it. 8 hours, sure I could understand that, everyone needs a break - but 3 isn't worth giving him a break, in my opinion.
  14. First of all - that dress looks better on you than it does the model! Seriously, it's so beautiful! Do you need to alter it at all? Second of all - holy sh!t! What a bitch saleslady... and wait, she was the OWNER?? Haha, that's amazing. Not that I'm comparing you to a prostitute (lol, nice way to start a sentence!) but do you feel a little like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman?!
  15. Ooh, Karla congratulations!! I can't wait to hear about everything and see the pics! Yay, Congrats!
  16. Ugh, now I wanna see their stuff but the website is down..?? Am I retarded with the internet? lol
  17. Wow, I thought she got married tomorrow (Monday!) lol... I'm pretty slow on these things I guess! Congratulations Sarah!! This sounds so rediculously stupid, but I've been looking forward to your wedding for a long time since you've involved all of us in it with your DIY projects all everything, I realllllly can't wait to see how everything turns out. Enjoy it and everything, but hurry back and show us pictures lol!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

That's actually really good advice!! lol. That is how I felt about the last one, but now I'm starting to second guess myself! Jill - I'd get a picture of it w/a model wearing it, but I'm a usless bride and don't know who the designer is and I couldn't find it on the retailer's website! I'll have to call and ask them!
  19. lol I've never heard of Fredrick's either! lol Laura, we should write a letter on behalf of all Canadians to get some Fredricks and VS stores over here!!!
  20. lol, I've already told Aaron, my parents and my brother that if they can surrender a suitcase it'd be appreciated! I already know that going over there I'll be over the weight limit (even thought I'll try not to as much as possible), so I'll factor that into my budget so I'm not shocked/pissed off when the time comes - and if I don't go over the weight limit, awesome! lol. It's true that you can ship some things over. Sometimes letting go of control will save you uber stress down the road, but I hear ya, I'm a control freak too! I might bring some stuff on my site visit that if it does go missing then I can live without. Also, keep in mind the things you might be able to get while you're there. If there is a Walmart or Costco or something near by you might be able to get some of the stuff there. And like Christine said, some of the other brides may have left some stuff behind that the wedding coordinator can supply.
  21. Hey Tracy, welcome to the forum!!! Wow, that's great that you have so many confirmed guests already!! How many people did you invite?
  22. lol, I was wondering the same thing when I came across them yesterday! It's a really good price though. I don't think they'd be the best quality, but they'd do just fine for your wedding week. My feelings are that my guests might just through their bags off to the side when they get home and barely ever look at them again! I think they're great, epecially for that price!
