  1. This site is awesome!!! If you're unsure what to do with your hair for the wedding day, check out this site! It seriously has every. single. style. ever!! lol. It's sorted by hairstyles (long, short, updo etc.)... and also, check out the makeup section!! be_byte6 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  2. So, I think I've decided to have my bridesmaids dresses made. All three of my bridesmaids are different ages (from 15 -my mom's age that I won't disclose unless she wants me to! lol), and are different body types and sizes. I think I'll have them made in three different styles that are similar, but suit each one individually. I think using a dressmaker will be better in the long run since I want the dresses to match in colour and material and I really don't see that happening if I go to a retail store, and still have my BM's be comfortable in what they're weating... but, I've never had a dress made for me (or anyone I know!). So, whats the first step? I've tried looking for recommendations for dressmakers in Calgary, but have come up with nothing creditable. How do I know how to pick a dressmaker? What kind of price ranges should I expect? Please Help!!!!
  3. Omg, I LOVE the first dress... its fantastic, and stunning and your FI's jaw would drop to the ground!! Give it a few days and go try it on again and see if you love it as much as you did when you tried it on. You seriously have fantastic taste in wedding dresses, you should come shopping with me! lol. As for the bridesmaids dresses, I think they look really great. I love the back on them. I do agree with Angela, in that style of dress will hide your bm's post preggie belly a bit more... and you do want to make sure they're comfortable and postiviley beaming as well! Maybe you could add a similar sash to that dress? The dress you chose is very pretty though, and it material looks forgiving - I'm just afraid it might hug their "problem" areas (hello - they just had babies, it's a miracle, not a problem lol!)...
  4. lol, I was wondering which place you chose after your great reviews! That's kind of funny that you ended up choosing a completely different place! That's good that you've decided though - that is definately one of the hardest parts. Congratulations!!

  7. Wow, Jessica, they look fantastic!!! If you're comfortable with it, you should post your template. They look really great, and really professional!! You must be so pleased with the outcome

Like pinks on the left up to deeper reds on the right, from whites to creams and ivorys etc. Confusing, but it's how I like it! I'm the same way too... but I think its from working in retail and having to do it that way - it really does organize the space!! Sweaters, pants, skirts, shirts etc are separated and then organized by colour, and then the hangers all have to face the same way (it's such a hassle when the face different directions!)... I didn't think that was a quirk though, I just thought it was basic organization!!! haha.
  10. Yay, congrats on picking a date!!! You're on the right track with the STDs, and website. And the other girls are right about the photographer, I'd consider booking your photographer as soon as you can as well (I just booked my photographer this week for my wedding next May)... hell, you can even start dress shopping. One of the dresses I found (and loved) had to be ordered 7-8 months ahead of time (although I think most are around 4-5) So you can give yourself lots of time there too.

I remember crying and laying on the couch with my bear Polely and a sippy cup of apple juice and my parents each working on one foot. gives me the shivers thinking about ti Umm, ok that sounds incredibly painful. I remember I went to a cabin once and they warned me of that there, and for some retarded reason I didn't listen... I was SO lucky not to get a single sliver because they kept warning me. Looking back, I realize how stupid that was. Even I get the shivers when I think about your story! How long were you addicted to them for?? That's good though that you had a realization like that - your "ah - ha" moment. 12. Those are so cute!!! I love the little sandy beach at the bottom!!! Very nice - how long did it take you to make those?
  13. Are most of your guests traveling anyways?? I do like the idea of the wedding annivesary shared with your parents, that's really nice... but if I were considering going to a wedding, and it'd be a hassle for me to get there on time on a Friday, I might just skip it all together. But, if it's on a Saturday of a long weekend, and I don't have to worry about how late I'm staying out, I'd more than likely attend that wedding before the Friday one. Just my honest opinion as a guest.
  14. Meh, its your day, have as many dresses as you want!! lol. It's a PERFECT TTD, by the way!
  15. omg, SO weird.... I was just looking at this thread yesterday, but didn't bump it because I had to go out! I love bringing these threads back, thanks Kelly! Ok, so I already told one, but I can tell more than one - right? I'm terrified of fans (the electric ones). Not if they're not on, but when they're running. When I was a kid we had one in our attic and it started to spark and then caught fire. My dad got it out of the house before it did any damage, but it scared the crap out of me. Fast forward about a decade... and I was living with my mom and the fan was going right next to the door of the bedroom and I woke up to it smoking... so that brought back the fear! lol. I'll let them run, but they can't be near an exit and they can't run while I'm asleep or out of the room lol - it pisses Aaron off!! I'm also like you, Jamie and Amy... I get freaked out when Aaron drives pretty much anywhere, and its not because he's a bad driver, but because I'm afraid someone else is that's driving next to him!! lol. A lot of times, I'll drag my lazy butt out with him just so I know for sure he's super safe! Omg, is that borderline mental health issues?!

Beach Weddings - 5 Musts for Beach Invitation Wording by Renae Judkins Destination weddings to Hawaii, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Maui, Jamaica and more are becoming more and more popular as destination wedding planning online has become easier and easier. The beach is the most popular destination wedding theme these days and many brides want to start their wedding theme off right with a beautiful beach theme wedding invitation. Many beach wedding invitation sites like BeachWedlockInvitations.com exist to offer hundreds of beach wedding invitations, but beach brides aren’t worried about finding the right beach invitation as much as they are worried about their beach wedding invitation wording. Every bride wants her wedding to be unique and her wedding invitation is no different. Finding the perfect beach wedding invitation wording is as important as finding the perfect beach wedding invitation itself, so here are 5 beach wedding invitation wording tips. 1. Know yourself and your spouse to be - Your beach invitation wording should reflect you and your future spouses personalities, love and quirkiness … yes, quirkiness. Wedding invitations have been done for millions of years, if you want to be original, you are going to have to capture what makes you and your beach love different than other couples. 2. There is no wrong wording - Certain wedding invitation wording ethics exist, but most people don’t know them and wouldn’t notice if you went according to the rules or not. Besides, more and more brides and grooms are throwing the rules to the wind these days and just writing what they want. Don’t worry about trying to follow all the rules. The reason you’re probably having a beach wedding is because you didn’t want the traditional wedding ceremony anyway, so have your beach wedding invitation reflect the same free flowing spirit that the beach has. 3. Know your audience - Even though we just mentioned that your beach wedding invitation wording should be about you and your future beach spouse by placing your quirkiness in your beach invitation wording, remember who your audience is. If you are sending this invitation to an 80-year-old grandma, you probably don’t want to use profanity or other inappropriate language. 4. Beach phrases - Find a single beach phrase that fits you and your spouse but also suits the beach setting you will be married in. “Once upon a time on a beach …†or “What happens on the beach … stays in our hearts,†are just some examples. More examples can be found at BeachWedlockInvitations.com. 5. Match your wording to your invitation - Simple beach weddings with simple beach themes should have simple beach wedding invitation themes as well. A beach wedding with 10 - 50 people is an intimate setting and the invitations should reflect that. Don’t bog down the wording with a 20 line poem to begin the invitation. A beach wedding with over 500 people can be reason for the 20 line poem.
  19. Rachel, I didn't know where else to post where you'd see it for sure... but I just have to say that I LOVE your siggy picture, it makes me smile every single time I see it!! That picture has total personality - it's really cute!!!

Can everyone share their ideas or point me to the thread that this was discussed before? I was thinking about using an online photo compnay and just making greeting cards with a fave wedding pic? Well, most photographers will take a picture for thank you cards with the couple on the beach and "Thank You" is written in the sand or something... is that what you're thinking of?
  21. WIFE FROM HELL A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says, " I clocked you at 80 miles per hour, sir." The driver says, "Gee, officer I had it on cruise control at 60, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating." Not looking up from her knitting the wife says: "Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control." As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, "Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?" The wife smiles demurely and says, "You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did." As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, "Damit, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut?" The officer frowns and says, "And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine." The driver says, "Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket." The wife says, "Now, dear, you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving." And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, "WHY DON'T YOU PLEASE SHUT UP??" The officer looks over at the woman and asks, "Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?" I love this part.... "Only when he's been drinking."
  22. lol, this is cute... I just had to share!! MARRIAGE... THE WAY KIDS SEE IT! HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (written by kids) (1) You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming. - Alan, age 10 (2) No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. - Kristen, age 10 WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED? (1) Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then. - Camille, age 10 (2) No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get married. - Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age) HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED? (1) You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids. - Derrick, age 8 WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON? (1) Both don't want any more kids. - Lori, age 8 WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE? (1) Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough. - Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure) (2) On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date. - Martin, age 10 (Who said boys do not have brains) WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR? (1) I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns. -Craig, age 9 WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE? (1) When they're rich. - Pam, age 7 (I could not have said it better myself) (2) The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that. - Curt, age 7 (Good Point) (3 ) The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do. - Howard, age 8 (Who made that rule) IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED? (1 ) I don't know which is better, but I'll tell you one thing. I'm never going to have sex with my wife. I don't want to be all grossed out. - Theodore, age 8 (Too much detail for his age) (2 ) It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them. - Anita, age 9 (bless you child) HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED? (1 ) There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there? - Kelvin, age 8 And the #1 Favorite is........ HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK? (1 ) Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck. - Ricky, age 10 (The boy already understands)
  23. On a side note... I just went to your wedding website and saw you got engaged on Christmas eve!! So cool! You should post your story in the Engagement Story section (here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/f58/) I bet it's a good one!
  24. Welcome to the forum!! Just out of curiosity... how many guests are you planning on inviting?? I only ask because I noticed your wedding date is set for 5 months from now... is that a for sure date? As for the resort - we can figure that out, there is a wealth of information here, and we're more than happy to help with any questions. Do you know what kind of a resort you're looking at? All inclusive? Adults only? Is the ceremony and reception going to be at the resort, or off site?
