  1. Ah! That sounds scary. I've never heard of it before. Is it painful?

Gift giving, whether it's brought to the wedding or shipped should never be considered rude!!! I think couples expect too much out of getting gifts for their weddings. They should be thankful when someone gets them a gift, no matter what it is, or when they receive it!! I'm not saying you're like that Ann, but I just thought that was silly! This comes after reading my friends website where she EXPECTS a gift, whether we plan to attend or not!!! Oh, Please!
  3. No, they'll confiscate them at check in. They won't let any plants in or out of the country.
  4. Congratulations Stephanie - the new DIY queen (sorry Sarah! lol). Your projects are amazing and I can't wait to see how everything turned out! And omg, tell us how Jason reacted to the bpics!!!!!

  9. Happy Belated Birthday, Sarah!!! It sounds like you had an awesome day! I love the cake decorated with nerds, that's so sweet!! and omg. that's a huge bouquet! I'm jealous!
  10. Good luck Sarah!! I can't wait to hear how everything went.
  11. Good question! I thought you had to declare when you came back to the U.S.? I've only crossed the border a few times in my life, and most of them when I was a child, so I don't know for sure. If that's the case, then you wouldn't have to declare anything, right? You won't have it with you anyways. Actually, would you have to declare it in the first place since its purchased before you leave? Ok, I don't know. :-| Sorry

I was totally going to suggest EDR. It's gorgeous, romantic, no kids and yes, the beaches are swimable. The sandbags are massive, but honestly, it didn't bother me. Some people (that I've read of on TripAdvisor) said the sandbags ruined their vacations... I honestly can't see that. It was a gorgeous resort and the sandbags just aren't that big of a deal. I'd also suggest the upgrade to the casita if you can afford it. I only saw my cousin's pictures (she didn't even invite us in! lol), and they're AMAZING! He really enjoyed it. Sorry, I don't know too many details though. It's completely spread out, and to walk from one end to the other it took us 45 minutes + (we ended up hoping a cart about 3/4 of the way through!). BUT it was perfect like that. They have carts if you don't feel like walking. It was totally private. When I was there it was full, but it felt really quiet and really private. It's my favourite resort. Perfect for a honeymoon! Edited to add: I wrote a review when I got back from my visit. It may or may not help you.... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ew-w-pics.html
  13. Aww, you've already left!! Well I'm sure everything went perfectly fine. I know it's hard, but try not to stress over the little things, or things that are out of your control! Just enjoy it - it's your WEDDING!!! I can't wait to hear how everything went. Good luck!!!
  14. Jessica, I'm glad you e-mailed her. Hopefully she'll be ok with changing it. I think it's a pretty easy change to make, isn't it? It's just a manner of changing the music, not the footage - should be easy.

The blue paper I bought at a scrapbooking store. It's got a bit of a gleam to it. The store called it "Bling", which is apparently a standard kind of paper they carry... the colour name is Prince Charming. Behind the invitations is burlap, which I got at a fabric store. 16. How are you using them, Martha? Just curious... are they going to double as your programs as well. If not, I think every other chair (or just for the ladies) will do just fine. I can't see many men wanting/using them. But if they're programs than I'd do every single chair.
  17. Welcome to the forum, Acacia We're almost date twins! I'm getting married on May 9th, at Dreams in Los Cabos. We do have some Cabo Surf brides here, all of which Janet has just listed (man, she's on the ball! ). Feel free to let any of us know if you have any questions... although those ladies Janet mentioned will probably be able to help you the best!!
  18. Thanks for the compliments guys! Quote: Originally Posted by Just Martha Awesome! And, can I just say you are rockin' that schedule! When do you plan on mailing them out? Most people mail theirs out 2-3 months beforehand though, so don't feel the pressure! lol.

Yes, that's right, I spent more on shipping than I did the actual sea shells. They arrived in great condition, and they replace any shells that are broken...but if you're Canadian, it's not worth it. Shipping was WAY too much!
  21. Ok Tammy, I'm having problems posting pictures. First, if there is a problem (e.g. too large) it doesn't say that in the error... I forget the message, I can grab it for you if you want, but the message is a bunch of jibberish to a person like me!! Second, once it's resized and added to the post, it shows up as red x's. The only way I could post pictures is if they're added via a URL from another website. Also, viewing profiles doesn't work. sorry to be the one to bring up all the bugs!
  22. YES! I can't believe it, I've finally finished the invitations. We just need a few final touches like address labels for the boxes, and a few invitations that need to be done... but that's it. I have to thank Jessalyn for her help and for showing her amazing invitations as my inspiration. You're awesome, and my invitations wouldn't look nearly as good without you. I'm super happy about the way they turned out! Originally I wanted blue mulberry paper, but it was really hard to find in the colour I liked. I managed to find this Blue Iris paper in a local art store in Calgary called Mona Lisa Art Supplies. The pictures don't seem to do it justice. I really love the way they turned out. Anyways... time for pictures!!!! This is what it looks like when you open the box. The starfish is tied to the invite with twine. We were going to do blue ribbon, but the only ribbon I liked would have been about $50 extra... so we nixed it for the twine!! lol And this is what it looks like once you open it up. It's a trifold pocket invitation, so I have four inserts (two per side) and the center one is the actual invite. It's backed by burlap and has twine around the top with the sand dollar. And here's a few shots of just the invitation insert....
