My favs in Calgary are S2 and C&C - but that is where I found these 3 gowns! I liked BB - but I didn't find any gowns I loved there! I thought you had found a couple of dresses you loved at BB? what happened to those? Holy crap, if there is a bridal salon, you've been to it!! I actually went shopping again on Saturday and tried on the two that I love at Beautiful Bride. I liked them, but not love them, you know? There is one girl that works there, her name is Simone - she's amazing. She doesn't pressure me into "buying right away", she's honest - and she remembers me every time I walk in the door. We went to Ethos after, which is always an upsetting experience. The lady was SO pushy, and scarey! lol. I did find another dress ( lol) that I liked there. I'll give it some time and try it on again. I think I'm afraid to buy one and then fall in love with another one! I'm kind of hoping that once I find one, I can order it through Simone at BB since she's been so amazing - do you know if I could do that??! The dress isn't in their current inventory! Anyways, I'll write down your list of places to visit and go to those next time. I really hate Ethos, and unfortunately, I think I've tried on everything at BB!!! Was S2 the place you have to make an appointment?
  2. But thanks for the help!! Hopefully one will step forward. It's really no effort on your part if you're a Dreams PV bride, the starfish is there waiting for you already! Ann, I got through and passed the e-mail to Jamy since I couldn't answer all of his questions. He said he'd check, but I'm not sure if he's gotten back to her since. My feeling is that he might take is sweet time checking the front desk for it...

  4. Where did you go dress shopping? Edmonton or Calgary? I might have to bring in your pictures and say, "I want to try these!!" lol. Seriously though, where are you going... I have the worst luck with Bridal salons here.

Plus, sometimes when I search from them, I find old threads that I forgot about that are fun/good to read! You're talking about a muli-quote? (having more than one quote in your post). You can hit the "mq" button in each person's post. And when you're ready you can hit new post, or you can just simply "quote" the last person.
  6. Since the forum went down, pictures can't be uploaded yet. Tammy's working on that. But in the meantime maybe you can host them on snapfish or something?
  7. Yep, Glenda is amazing and she has been picking some up for us BDW members! Here's her thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...part-99-a.html And Tammy started a thread to post the pictures from the guest's wearing them: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...sh-thread.html
  8. It is expensive. They have some nice fonts out there to download that are "Calligraphy Style" if you're thinking of going that route. It's cheaper and sometimes free, depending on where you download your font from.
  9. Ya, I have a feeling they hear that a lot; a bride bringing decorations for the wedding. Honestly, I think if you try to conceal it, or squirm your way out of it, it looks suspicious. If you just explain honestly, I'm sure they'd understand. It's not a bad idea to bring the receipts with you though. That Jenetta's one smart gal!
  10. I think a man that can carry off pink with confidence is hot! But you can't plunk pick on just any guy. Aaron wouldn't be caught dead in it - but I totally love the ties. I really love the first one, but more because I love the green in it.
  11. Oh, I spoke before I saw the pictures! Jenetta, you look gorgeous. Omg, everything looks so fantastic. More pictures!!!!
  12. Great review, thanks Jenetta. I have to admit, I was surprised to see your B rating for Dreams. Was that based just on the room switches? Also, how did you find Mariana? So far, she's a complete delight. Did you bump into any problems with her along the way?

Haha, thanks! lol, I was talking to Aaron about that while we were making them and how some girls have said that they'd considered it as a business after they finished theirs. We both decided "hell no" on that idea! lol. He was a huge help, but I can definately tell he's relieved that he doesn't have to do them anymore. ... I'll let him think that until the next DIY project! lol

  16. I had my STD with all the info on it, and I included a short letter about the wedding/std.
  17. OOps, I voted a few days ago but didn't post! :-| I love love love the first one. Omg, you look so hot and sassy in that dress. If I could vote 100 times, I would - that's how much I love that dress!! The detail, and the bustle and omg the rouching at the waist. If you don't get it, I will personally visit you and beat you. You don't live far from me, it's possible!
  18. For some reason I couldn't get the slideshow or large pictures to work, but I can see the thumbnails! lol. The pictures look fantastic! omg, the use of colour is fantastic, such gorgeous, vibrant pictures. I love them! You look gorgeous! If I were you, I'd be getting up every single morning and I'd look through those pictures first thing just to brighten my day! They're really great. Oh, and I don't think the fact that I can't see the pictures has anything to do with your particular slideshow, it wouldn't work before either - I think it's my computer... just so you're not stressing out!
  19. I'm not registering either, but I'm not having an AHR. I think it's a good idea for the AHR. I tend to agree with your FI though, people are forking over a lot of money already, so I won't be registering.
  20. The fee is unfortunate, especially since the resorts are beautiful. Thanks for posting the info, Matt. Hopefully the reosrts will take the hint. They really are gorgeous, and it's they're own fault if they're missing out on some of us awesome brides!
  21. lol Stephanie... silly face or not, you look gorgeous in the second dress! I actually really love them both, but I'm leaning a little more towards the second dress - if we're judging style. As for colour, I have the same problem. When I was trying on dresses I asked the lady if I could pull off wearing white since I had my awesome tan from my visit to Mexico. Her reply, "well, if you get a really nice tan, sure!". I was like "THIS IS A REALLY NICE TAN!" lol. Anyways, ivory for me, it'll suit my skin tone better. I don't want to mess with that, I want to look back at my pictures and not regret a thing. If the colour (yes, Tara coloUr!) doesn't mean anything to you (white vs cream) go with cream!

I can't wait to see the rest of your projects! Ya, they were a lot of work - but I love them. There are definately things I wouldn't do/buy if I were to ever make them again, but overall I'm happy with them. Thanks for your compliments (and thanks to everyone else), it's nice to have hard work praised!!

That was probably the easiest part, to be honest! Quote: Originally Posted by MikkiStreak Those look great Courtney! I want to send mine out early (April 2008 wedding) but not sure about asking for an RSVP so early ... There were a lot of things that I bought that I didn't end up using. I bought fabric/batting to go around the invitations (much like Jessalyn did) and it just ended up being WAY too much work (tack on another 50 hours!), so we nixed the idea. We also bought the sand dollars/starfish, but shipping was over $100 because we live in Canada. I think we spent close to $400, but again, there were a lot of places we could have saved money, especially if you live in the US as shipping isn't killer!
  24. Wow Jamy, it sounds great! Just reading that menu makes me drool! lol
