  1. Ok, I'll check back with you on July 6th, no later!! lol

Fun, yes- impressive as the Riu bonfire- not nearly. We debated doing this, especially since the Barracuda bar is right there, and we could have done a fun dinner- but we just decided we would want something more formal. I'm looking forward to seeing someone actually do it there though! Oh good to know, thanks! I haven't seen the Riu bonfire, so I guess I won't be disappointed! lol. I'm not concerned about it being a big impressive spectical though, I just want it to be more casual. Thanks for the heads up. It's tough to imagine how it's set up - but I'll check it out in August and take lots of pictures!
  3. So, have you decided yet?! You're really taking a long time!! lol
  4. Oh, I had these bookmarked on the ebay page. Thanks for the heads up! I luv sales!

  6. Huh... I have no idea where to start, sorry - but it's a good idea! Now I'm considering it! lol
  7. Well, I think it also depends on your guestlist. If you're inviting everyone you've ever encountered, and their 3rd cousin - then I'd expect a lot less. I'm not inviting some uncles and aunts because I'm not close with them. If you're pretty much inviting all of your aunts and uncles regardless of how close you are with them, then expect significantly less. I'm inviting ONLY the people I feel closest to. My guest list is at about 50, and I expect 30 to attend. I put 15 rooms on block, and might need more - but we'll see! If I invited all of my aunts and uncles and friends, my guest list would probably bump up to about 150, and I'd expect maybe 50 of them to go... just to give you an idea. But I'm rambling. lol.
  8. Woot, a high-five to FIs that help out! Mine helped(/helps) me too, and it makes a huge difference! So, did the box arrive blue and you guys just added some extra oomph to it, or did they arrrive plain, and you painted them blue?

I put September 1, 2007! lol. So much for the same timeline. I really wanted to get my guest's butts in gear since Tammy said that the resort books up around October! It's nice to see that I'm not the only one sending out my invitations with more than 2 months notice though. Next Project: Site Visit... I know, it's a tough one!
  12. The Off-Beat Bride: You are someone who dances to her own beat and wants a wedding to reflect that. You see your wedding and a special and personal creation and intend to put your signature touch on every part of it. Because you are so creative and have so many ideas, you probably are an independent operator and would not enjoy hearing the input of others about what you should do or how you should do it. In fact, you probably want to just surprise them all with the result. Since you will probably be paying for it yourselves, you have some assurance of being able to create what you want on your own. I have a feeling a lot of us will be offbeat brides, just based on a lot of those questions. Although, there were alot of questions that probably almost pushed me to the "Unbride"
  13. Leigh, Honestly... how cruel was that to bump this thread?! I thought that Jonathan or Jessalyn posted!! Nope, it's just Leigh. lol j/k WHERE IS JESSALYN?!?!
  14. Aww, my fingers are crossed for her! Hopefully everything goes alright for her. So, her wedding has been moved to this Sunday instead?? GOOD LUCK!! *fingers crossed*
  15. Oh my gosh, Amy... I missed this thread! Your first DIY project turned out great!! That was one of my options for my invitations, if only I knew how cheap and easy it was!! Thanks for posting the information - that'll come in handy for future brides (sheesh, where were you two months ago?! lol). They're gorgeous, nice work!!
  16. Welcome to the forum! I have to agree, this site has been my life saver! I'd be so lost and confused without it... plus, I'd actually end up working during business hours!!! Anyways, where in Canada are you from? There are quite a few of us Canadian brides on this forum, which is also helpful! Let us know if there is anything we can help you with!
  17. Ya, I ended up uploading mine to another site, and attaching the picture URL from there (the little picture above the text box with the yellow background and mountains). Or you can host it from another site. Hopfeully it gets fixed soon... but look on the bright side, at least we're talking to eachother now! Much better than the few days I had to work! lol
  18. I can't see Matt's pictures either, but it sounds like a great location! Thanks for posting that Sol, it's great to have variety on here - especially with locations like that!!!
  19. Let us know what you find a where! Aaron is leaning towards that too... although I like the tan suits... we'll see who wins that one! lol
  20. I dunno, but I would let her know that you have guests finding better rates. Maybe she can renegoatiate or match the prices. If I were a guest, I'd go for the better rate too! Friend or not, I'm sure she doesn't want to lose out on the business
  21. Oh good point! They're right, most (business smart) retailers will suggest one to you, but Kate brought up a good point about being able to engrave titanium. When shopping, just makesure the salesperson knows of your intentions to engrave, and they will hopefully keep that in mind when helping you. Engraving is a priority for me as well, so that will be one of my first questions!

  23. You're just a wealth of knowledge!!! I know where the knew Ikea is! Aaron works at the geek squad in the Best Buy right next to it. lol. I can find my way to that one without the GPS! Woot! I'll try that. I really do seem to love Maggie dresses. I don't know about a certain designer though, after a while, they all start to look the same! Anyways, sorry for the thread hijack! I'll try the bridal center and let you know. I Think I'll try S2 as well. I remember you mentioned that one before. I'm ok with making appointments, at least I'll know I won't get ignored (ehem, ETHOS!). Thanks again, you're the best!!
  24. Well, Tammy might correct me, but I always thought that TAs could negotiate some of the best rates, especially if you do a room block or a group rate. A lot of people say that about 80% of the people you expect will go, will - so maybe base you group block numbers on that. I also let my guests know that we have a group block set aside and to contact Tammy to make reservations. Kind of like assuming they'll use Tammy, and if they don't then that's fine... but only giving them the only option until they ask - you know?

It beats paying for shipping! We'll see. If you are the next one to go there, I have three months to figure everything out! lol
