You have made arrangements for Dreams. If people want to go somewhere else, they are on their own, IMO. That includes fees to get into the hotel for the ceremony/reception. Screw them!

First of all, not only am I getting married in April, but my girlfriend is getting married in February, and I am a bridesmaid. Yesterday all of us girls (there's 9 bridesmaids!) went dress shopping, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try some dresses on. I tried a few traditional dresses on, and they didn't appeal to me at all. Then I tried a few "destination" dresses on, and there were a few I liked, but none of them blew me away. So, I gave up, and went to try on the BM dresses with the other girls. Well that's where I found my dress!! WAAAAHHH!!! The sample I tried on was exactly as it is in the photo, but of course I will order mine in white as the main colour, and I think like an ocean blue as the contrast colour, as this is the colour of the embroidery on Chris's shirt (his grandfather's shirt). I'm soooooooo excited!! The best of all? The price. $230 and if I order before Sept. 2nd, no tax!! WOOOOOOT!! Here it is:

Cost, US$1,000.00 (Two Photographers) Gold Package: Photography preparation of bride and groom in rooms, photography of ceremony, with an hour after ceremony for a beach or garden session with the newlywed couple, Photographs of reception until the cutting of the cake, two sets of 200 Photographs printed in 6"x 8" format, 20 photographs printed in 8"x 12" as selected by couple, a DVD presentation of Photographs with music, a 30 Photographs session pre or post wedding with different clothing of the couple. Cost US$1,800.00 (Two Photographers) We *might* have a friend who is coming to the wedding do pictures, otherwise, we will go with these guys. I've seen some pics from this group and they have been decent pics.

We are getting it too, from the people who WANT to be there but can't afford it. That's fine. Looks like the couple who were going to stand up for us (our best friends) won't be able to make it because of money problems (yes, it's APRIL next year.. but I won't go there) and he is trying to make us feel bad because we aren't having it here, so it's convenient (and cheap) for them. Well sorry, but Chris and I have never even been away together! So yes, we are going away and we are getting married. Period. It's what we want. With the exception of those two, everyone says to our face, ya we are going, but not one person has put a deposit down. I have told everyone the prices are going up at the end of August, yet still no one has put the money down. So you know what? FUG EM. If they do end up getting off their arse to put a deposit down and it's more expensive, ya know what? SUCKS TO BE U. We sent out our STD's in MARCH for crying out loud, 13 months before the wedding. My parents thought we were basically doing a long-planned elope. I love this way of thinking. But they are getting relatives calling saying this and that, and they are starting to stress about it because they can't go (my mom is ill) and I told them not to go. I could care less if anyone else goes. FUG EM ALL. Me and Chris on the beach.
