  1. OMG we use ours all the time! The little one we use for the kitchen counters, in place of papertowels or j-cloths. This rocks! So after dinner we wet it and wipe down the counters. We cut one of the larger ones in half and have one in each bathroom for wiping out the sink and faucets of tootpaste dust. The other big one we have at the back door and use to dry the dogs off when they come in from the snow/rain. They REALLY do pick up alot of water! Especially around the paws. There is one more that Chris is waiting for the spring to use... on the cars! We just hang them to dry, and throw them in the wash with our other towels once a week, but NOT in the dryer!! LOL.

Yikes. We didn't tell anyone either, but I know there has been a lot of discussion about this topic before. One bride caved and told her MOH and she told a bunch of guests (this is about a month before departure) and about 15 people cancelled because they weren't "spending good money for a lie". So I would be very careful. We never told anyone, and noone was the wiser. When we went to city hall, we just said we were doing some preliminary paperwork. That was it. Not a total lie, but we felt better down there.
  3. I've been to one, when I was having trouble with my first marriage. She was an excellent listener, and never told me to do anything. She asked questions and just listened to me talk through the stuff in my head, KWIM? She helped me make my decision to leave my husband without telling me that's what I should do. She was just very supportive and helped me come to the right decision for me. I would highly recommend going to someone. That's big stuff you have been through, something that the average person doesn't experience, especially ALL of those things. Talking with someone will help you sort through your grief so you will be able to open yourself up to Lawrence and be fully able to love him with your WHOLE heart. Hugs girl!
  4. My DH got a tungsten as well. I knew if he didn't like it he wouldn't wear it. He hasn't taken it off even once in *almost* a year, so there ya go!
  5. yup yup! They were really professional about it and no one knew the difference.
  6. We were married in Punta Cana, which is on the eastern tip of the island, so "sunset" pictures would not have worked for us. Thus, we did our TTD at sunrise. I think it might depend on your TTD location's orientation.
  7. Great responses! I've taken to using WP mascara, because I have to put drops in my eyes every 2 hours (not fun BTW). I think I'll switch it up next time and try something different, though I hate change! LOL
  8. BTW, I've always used Mabelline Great Lash. Pink tube, green top. I have for years!
  9. I've always worn non-waterproof mascara, but was chatting with a girlfriend who swears by it. So, just for everyday use, do you use waterproof mascara? And what kind do you use?
  10. I'm totally addicted to Turbo Jam. Chalene is sooo bubbly and infectious! It helped me lose 20 lbs last year before my wedding, and I've pretty much maintained that since. There's a thread on TJ somewhere on here, just search it. There's also a massive thread on P90X. It's way more hard core, but if you are looking for fast results and can really stick to it, it does wonders. My hubby is doing it now (I would but my back can't take it), and he's getting super ripped.

  12. There are resorts like Dreams Cancun where the wedding gazebo is RIGHT up on the water where there are no onlookers. Honestly, you can spend a little or a lot on a DW just like a traditional wedding. We got married in the DR, Punta Cana. Our resort included a free wedding package and we had 10 people with us. Besides my dress (which was a bridesmaid dress done in white... $250) and a couple of extras (fresh flowers and hair/makeup at the spa), our whole trip for the two of us for 2 weeks was not more than $7500. This also included a photographer friend from Toronto that we brought down. We paid for his trip and he shot our pictures for free. I don't regret it for a minute. Do what you think will truly make you happy on your special day. Yes it's one day, but it's an IMPORTANT one. Good luck!
  13. I cannot even imagine what kind of emotions that poor woman is going through. That's incredibly sad
  14. As you can see in my pic here I have a labradoodle too, Milo, and he ALWAYS harfs down his food sooo fast! We have him on Pedigree Healthy Vitality and he LOVES it. Glad to hear that he's doing better. Most likely he got into something.
  15. Nice!! Celebs usually love Canada because we tend to leave them alone more than Americans!
  16. We waited until people actually booked the trip before asking them to stand up for us, for that reason. Everyone was gung-ho when we first announced it, but then people dropped off the face of the earth when the invites went out. Turned out that there were only 11 of us altogether.DH had a BM, and I had a flowergirl, but otherwise walked the sandy aisle alone. It was perfect.
  17. coooool! I'm so glad he came to his senses!!
  18. My hubby is on a short term layoff too till March. This happens every year, so it's expected, but it still sucks! Not only that, but he works in Toronto and we are living in Brockville now. We had both agreed that he would stay working there till he found something here, but yikes, we didn't think it would take this long. There's nothing around here at all, not even Kingston/Ottawa in his field, so he's starting from scratch. So he's also thinking of going back to school now as well. Blah. The economy SUCKS!

  20. I'm so glad we were able to help you work through it. Sometimes looking at it from a neutral side helps. That's why we're here!!

If that's how you feel truly, that it disrespects your mother for her to be there, then I would just have the two of you at the ceremony then. I think it's disrespectful to your father to exclude her. But it's like Harty said. We can all give our opinions, but it's your life, and it's impossible for you to express every little nuance of your relationship with her, so ultimatly it's your decision.
  22. pffft, just assume his name. I have problems with changing my birth certificate. WTF? I was not born a Copeland! Also, know that you will need your actual marriage certificate to change your name with the license bureau and passport office, and that will mean waiting months to get your certificate sent to you from Mexico, and having it translated. A quicker way around it would be to have a civil service here in Canada before you go down, then apply for the certificate. It should arrive within a week or so of getting back.
