For the aisle runner, I would maybe look into buying one here, and shipping it to them. But since the sand is uneven, it may be hard to walk on. I have seen the really lightweight ones which roll up very easily. You may even be able to pack it in your suitcase!

Hi Laura, We used the "free" wedding package, which was fine for us. That came with the use of the minister, pressing of the dress/suit, flowers, cake, champagne, altar set-up. I did not see anyone use an aisle runner, but I am sure they can do it for you. Send Sandra an email now so she can work on it. Bring whatever "walking down the aisle" music you want. I think some people had candles creating an "aisle," I had flowers. I didn't choose. I am not sure why they upgraded us, I am sure it was because we were honeymooners. They placed a big sash on our door that said "Honeymooners" - we took ours home! There were honeymooners on either side of us. I think the rooms are great, and they are convenient to the ceremony (Sandra or Landy can come right up to the room to get you). Plus, you get to watch a few before your big day. Now, Mike and I got married here a few weeks before we went, so we didn't have to do the whole blood test and marriage license stuff there. It made everything so much easier, and our families had no idea. For dinner, Sandra made our reservation at Portofino for 13 of us. We had dinner and we cut the cake there. Landy brought it over for us. We were going to head over to Desires, the "disco," but it was just not our style. So we didn't do the whole "first dance" thing. But, if you do want that, talk to Sandra about where you can do it: beach, a restaurant, the disco. The ONLY down side is there will be people watching you, walking on the beach in front of your ceremony. We felt a little weird about that beforehand, but during the ceremony, all I could see was Michael. I am SOOOO excited for you guys, I wish I could go do it all over again. It was perfect, great memories. ENJOY!!! -Jesse

We did not use their photographer. That was my camera, and my sister-in-law taking the pictures. The folks who did use the staff photographer - well, everyone's photos are posted in the World Cafe for everyone to look through, they are all in a large binder. It was a little weird. But they looked good!

Have a great time, Karen and Jason! Yes, I had my hair done in the spa. They were so wonderful. I had extensions put in, and they looked great. My friend did my make-up. There was a bridal party in there while I was waiting, and they did their make-up and hair, and it all looked great. Sandra can set up a good time for you. The only thing about the make-up: The spa is kind of a hike, and if it is hot out, you may melt a little. I overheard that same bride request a golf cart to bring her back to the room.

Well, here is my review. The total time to get through Cancun customs and the van ride to Tulum was about three hours. We were lucky and only had two other stops for our van – some people had to go in buses with 6 or 7 stops. When we finally arrived, we were so amazed. The resort was gorgeous. We checked in, and they told us they had upgraded us to an ocean-front, rather than ocean-view. Whoo hoo! We were in room 8239, overlooking Seaside Grill and the ceremony site. Our room was very nice. The bathroom was huge, and the bed was comfy – also big. Our mini-bar was stocked with drinks and Corona, and was restocked the whole week. Food: Portofino was very yummy. We ate there twice, once on our own and once with our families after the ceremony. The French restaurant was not so good. We loved the sushi and the Asian. World Café is the buffet-for dinner it is OK, it is much better for lunch and breakfast. Lunch is Seaside Grill or El Patio, both great. Wedding: Other than not being able to get in touch with Sandra for the first two days, everything went great. We picked out our cake, flowers and music during our meeting with her. Then the ceremony was very easy and fun. I am sending a link to my Snapfish account so you can see the site. Tips: Utilize your Do Not Disturb button. But, if they need you, they will knock and call you. Kind of annoying. Order bottled water in the restaurants. They tell you the water in the pitcher is OK, but just to be safe. Most romantic restaurant is the Italian, if you want that for your wedding night dinner – although, the French restaurant is adults-only. We had a few crying babies one night in Portofino. Hi everybody- we are back from our wedding, and it was awesome. I will be posting a review with pics in a little bit, but to answer the question, there are AT LEAST two weddings per day, sometimes three. Our ceremony was at 6, there was a 5:15! Sandra actually had to go "kick out" the other party so I could walk down the aisle. Since we had already been legally married here, the process was very easy. We could not track down Sandra for the first two days we were there - we left her notes and messages. Be persistent. Tell the front desk you are a bride and it is urgent - they will find her. Our meeting with her lasted about 15 minutes - we picked the flowers, cake, and music. That was about it! It turned out perfectly. Someone picked up my dress the morning of, and returned it in a few hours pressed. Landy, Sandra's assistant, brought up my dad and our flowers to my room, which just happened to look over the ceremony site. I will write a more extensive review tonight and post some pics. The vacation was absolutely amazing.

Ooooh, is the flower catalogue on-line? Could you email it to me? I have been so out of touch with her since we booked the date, I guess I need to ask her what else I need to do!

Hi everybody! I haven't posted in a while, but we are getting married there June 15! Sandra has been so great, and I did call her once to confirm the time of our ceremony. We have 11 other family members joining us for part of our time. I followed the advice of several other posters and we just did our legal ceremony here yesterday at the court house. The ceremony in Tulum will be our symbolic one for our family. We can't wait!!!

Hi everyone, I am a soon-to-be Dreams Tulum bride (6/15/07), and I went with the complimentary package, simply because when we first planned it, it was only the two of us going. Sandra C. at Dreams is awesome, and will help you. I actually called her on the phone one afternoon to settle on the date, time and location (6 p.m. sunset on the beach!). She is so pleasant. It really depends on what you want for the party. We didn't want any type of formal setting, we are all going to drink and eat after we get married. But just think about what you can't live without, and it should fall into place from there. Buena suerte!!

Hi everyone, Wow, thanks for the warm welcome!! I am getting married June 15 at Dreams Tulum, and it seems like the popular destination. I am SOOOO ready to go!
