  1. No, no! Please steal it! LOL!

Here is the website where I got it from: Welcome to Planetjill photo custom Jewelery and gifts - Photo bracelets, photo necklaces and photo accessories

I was going to make it myself, and put a photo in a charm. But the charm from planetjill is really nice quality. And I think it looks better than doing it yourself. You basically send in a photo, and they shrink it to size. It is definitely something I will keep forever.

  2. For 100 guests, I think Baja Cantina would work for you. It is definitely reasonably priced. However, I peeked inside Mi Casa and Pancho's and I like the ambiance better. I was looking for something casual as well, and to me Baja Cantina looks more like a bar than a restaurant. I think the food was the deal breaker for me, I wasn't really impressed by it. I think I've had better Mexican food here in San Francisco...

  3. Since this forum saved me from insanity while planning my wedding, and I wanted to return the favor and post my review. Please let me know if you have questions on anything! I tried to include a picture of everything, cake, flowers, bouquet, dress etc.

My wedding review – Sept 15th, 2007 at the One and Only Palmilla

    The O&O Palmilla – A + (times a million)

Words cannot describe how unbelievably amazing this resort is. The service is unparalleled to any resort – from your personal butler, to complimentary tequila, water and snacks in your room, to the pool service, food, staff, spa, property etc…the list goes on. We had the welcome party, rehearsal dinner, wedding dinner, the cake and day after brunch - all at the Palmilla. I am grateful and glad I picked this resort. It is beautiful. I was afraid I was going to make my guests bankrupt after staying here, but they said it was worth it. (And I found out that the pool food is the same price as the Hilton in Cabo!!) My coordinator at the Palmilla, Katia Unger is a saint!! I am convinced she is the hardest working woman in Mexico. I was not nervous or stressed at all!! She is a brides†dream coordinator. If you can swing the prices at the Palmilla – do it!!

    Flowers: Elema Damy A –

This was the only think I wish I could have done differently. I have no idea why I spent the money I did on flowers – when no one really cares!! I could have done with out the flowers on the tables during dinner. It was dark outside, and no one could see them. Oh well. However, I loved the arch she did at my ceremony and my bouquet. She and Carlos are great to work with. I suggest providing ton of pictures of what you want. There was some confusion on a few details, but thatâ€s because I was limited on what flowers I could get in Cabo in Sept. Oh yeah, and she is pricey – but open to negotiation!!

    Ballroom Furniture: Oxten A+

We set up the ballroom like a lounge, and this was my favorite part of the wedding! It was worth the money. The room looked transformed into a lounge/club. Cost: $3500

    OXTEN

    DJ: Ricardo Patino A+

I am so happy I chose Ricardo as our DJ. He really kept our party going. Our guests said it was the best wedding music ever! He is professional, and very responsive to emails. The best part about Ricardo, is that he will only play what you want at your wedding. We provided a list of songs, and he stuck to it. He can improvise too. He also wants to know what not to play during the party. His equipment is also state of the art. Cost: about $1000 for 4 ½ hours.

Bachelorette Party Dinner: Baja Cantina Dockside C

I did not like this restaurant. I wanted a place that was low key, and had good Mexican food. The food was mediocre, and they gave way too little of it. The website is also deceiving!! The restaurant looks so different on their website, I thought we were in the wrong restaurant! I passed by Mi Casa, and wished we went there.

Wedding Dress: Reem Acra A +

I loved my wedding dress!! I think I might have to wear it once a month for a day, because I love it so much.

    Photograpy: Juan Carlos Tapia N/A

I havenâ€t seen photos yet, but I really liked working with him. The man knows what heâ€s doing. Cost: about $2800 for 5 hours.

    Airport Transportation: Transcabo A+

To help alleviate with traveling costs, we paid for airport transportation for our guests. This company is great! I read a lot of good reviews on them, so I felt confident using them. I did everything over email. Even with all the changes with flight itineraries, they were on top of everything. Punctual, courteous service, and great to work with even over email.

  4. Now that I look at the list, I guess we had 70 songs.... personally top 40 and hip hop is my favorite to dance to and we had a younger crowd that would enjoy it. But we have some 80's songs mixed in there, with Swing dance songs and slow songs for everybody.

  5. Here is a pic of my bouquet. My wedding was at the O&O Palmilla in Cabo. My florist was Elena Damy. She is great, although a little pricey. There are red, magenta and yellow roses with green cymbidium orchids. I was supposed to have coral tipped yellow roses, but they died on the way to Cabo. The hardest part was picking flowers that could withstand the Sept heat in Cabo. (Ignore my niece in the pic)

  6. Just wanted to post what I gave to my guests in my OOT Bag:

    1) Evian water mist (Sephora)

    2) Peter Thomas Roth SPF (Sephora)

    3) Snack Pack (Harry and David)

    4) Emergency kit (Minimus - For All Your Travel Size Item Needs)

    5) Photo cookie of my dog (rollingpinproductions.com)

    6) Make up (Sephora - I work for them, and my brands hooked me up)

    7) Bottled water (not pictured)

I had my wedding at the Palmilla a week ago. I probably could have done without the snacks, water bottle and mist since the Palmilla provides these to all guests complimentary. The bag was a jute bag I purchased through a friend.

  7. I think you are thinking of DJ Ricardo Patino...? If so, I just used him for my Sept 15th wedding at the Palmilla...he was AWESOME! Very professional, and responsive with emails. The great thing about Ricardo, is that he will play whatever you want and what you don't want. We provided a playlist of about 40 songs to play - and he stuck to the list. I highly recommend giving him a list. Everyone said it was the best music they've heard at a wedding.

We also told him songs not to play and if he wanted to improvise then he could. He is very interested in providing what music you want for your party. He also has state of the art equipment.

  9. I just came back from my wedding at the Palmilla....FABULOUS!! They are amazing over there. Everything was perfect (I plan on sending out an official review in a couple of days)

I set up the ballroom like a lounge too, and let me tell you it was my most favorite part of the wedding...AWESOME! It was pricey, but well worth the money. I believe I paid $3,500 - which included a light up bar, draping, 4 light up tables, ottomans, lighting, and plants. Here is the vendor I used: OXTEN

I attached a pic of how we set up the ballroom at the Palmilla, hopefully it posted.

  10. I just got off the phone with my coordinator at the Palmilla, and she said that there is no sand on the beaches, I guess the hurricane washed the sand away. (this is at the Palmilla, not sure about the other resorts). She said that pictures on the beach are going to be ok, but there is no room to lay out on the beach... curious to see what exactly that looks like....

  11. I was berated from my jeweler for not taking care of my diamond. They gave me a cleaner solution that comes in a jar and when I come home I put it in there and leave it overnight. She told me to never to housecleaning with it on, or anything where it could get dirty. Not even showering with it on. And when you take it off, don't tough the face of the diamond. Now my diamond is clean all the time!

  12. Here are the golf rates I received from my coordinator at the Palmilla, if you were curious:

    Palmilla (Guest special) 210.00

    Cabo Real 280.00

Ocean at Cabo del Sol 350.00

Desert at Cabo del Sol 220.00

This is for 18 holes. If you were to play 9 holes or a twilight game the rates varied from $130 to $180.

    Mucho dinero!

  13. Elena Damy is the forist the Palmilla uses. Her website: Elena Damy | Contemporary Floral Design

I have read other postings about her on this forum. She is really great to work with, very nice, accommodating, and responsive. She will do anything you want. And her designs are beautiful. While her prices are quite high, she is also very willing to negotiate. We are in the process of lowering the initial quote she gave me, once I have that, I can post it on here.

    Hope that helps!

  14. I am using Elena Damy for my flowers and getting married at the O & O Palmilla. While I think her work is great, the reason why the bamboo arch is so expensive, is because she has to order 8 posts to withstand the wind on the beach.

Thank you for everyone's replies, I have a few good ideas now!

  15. Hi -

Question for all the brides that are getting married on a beach.... what are you using for an "arch" at your ceremony on the beach? I am so stuck on what to do. I received a quote for a 4 posted bamboo arch with fabric for almost $700!!! Yikes! (and I heard other vendors will charge the same since the bamboo has to be shipped in, then dried out, then assembled - no i am not joking) Was wondering if there is another option of creating an "arch" that will cost less.

    Thanks!
