  1. It seems like we have had a lot of weddings since the last request for DJ information. Could some of the recent brides from RM please tell us who they used and how they did? A price of services would be nice too. Thanks, Lizzy
  2. Kash, congratulations on your beautiful wedding and best wishes for a wonderful life together! You two look like love, really. I think it was Christa who said you were all googly eyes for each other~~true! The gal that did the video said there was some kind of surprise at your wedding. Am I right? If so, would you like to share? My daughter Maggie was in love with your gown. She had seen it at the Lheurille (sp) shop in Edina, MN. I will send her the linc to this thread so she can see how lovely it was on you. Lizzy
  3. Hey Natalie, you were just stunning! Everything was beautiful. What was Lance's reaction to the BPics? Maybe I missed that somewhere along the way, but I am really interested as to his reaction, hmmmmm? Thanks for posting your photos. What memories you will have! Lizzy
  4. Glenda, I don't remember the name of the cross street, but the lady was right on the corner. Across Broadway there was a bank where I went to use the cash machine. I really think it was just as we were getting into Chinatown. I will call Maggie in the morning to see if she or her FMIL can remember. Mary goes to this area at least 3 times a year and knows those streets fairly well, so b/w the 2 of them I should get an answer so I can post it for you in the AM. Yes, we stayed at 60 Thompson. We loved it. The room was adorable and the staff was very nice. And no I didn't carry the pashs back to the hotel. Maggie took them from me. We eventually flagged down a taxi, thank God! Lizzy
  5. Glenda, you are the sweetest thing ever. I did get the pashs @ $2 apiece!! For a girl who never bargained (forgot the correct term, another CRS moment) in that type of circumstance b4, we did pretty darn well! We got either 46 or 50. Maggie changed her mind about cream and off-white. Once she saw how lovely the colors were, she chose 4 or 5 colors: a palm green, a softer green, a tangerine, a pink, and I can't remember if it was a shade of teal or a goldish color. Anyway, the lady put them all in a plastic garbage bag. We carried them back from Broadway to 60 Thompson. They were really heavy. I have new understanding and gratitude for your kind gesture to the brides of picking these up for them! I do hope you will have wheels of some kind so you will not need to take the subway or the bus. So your friend got a Morgane Le Fay gown the same as Maggie's, huh? It is a gorgeous gown. There were a couple of times while we were in Soho that I wished I had gotten your phone # or some way to contact you. It would have been great to meet you for a couple of drinks. Maybe next time...like I will ever get there again! Thank you again for being so helpful. I repeat, you are a sainted woman! XXX1/2 Lizzy
  6. Jason and Karen, I know I am late on this thread, but I want to wish you a lifetime of happiness and secret little romantic surprizes!
  7. Here you go Maggie. I think this is one of my least favorite gowns. I was holding my breath cuz I knew you liked it!
  8. Carly, Maggie is only 5' tall! She weighs about 93 lbs, (about the same weight as one of my thighs!) and still it looks wonderful on her. Don't judge anything until you try it on. Mags had her mind made up on a gown of antique lace. She really only tried this one on because her FMIL and I thought it was so different. But the minute it was hooked up in the back, the tears fell like rain! Mikki, thanks. She looks alot like I did at her age. She's definately my kid! Court,Thanks for the kind words. It is finally starting to really feel like there is going to be a wedding, WHOOT!! Ann, It is exciting and I am so happy to be involved in the planning. Everytime I talk to Tadd's mom she comments on how I am the expert on destination weddings. (LOL) Whatever I do know I learned from all of you kids on this forum. So a HUGE Thanks! She's my baby girl and together with all of you guys guiding me, we will make this one hell of a celebration for Maggie and Tadd.
  9. Yes, she is getting the first dress. She tried on the off-white but it had too much yellow in it so we ordered it in white. She should get it in October or early November, I think. I'm glad you all like it. Honestly, it just moves so beautifully. And the sashes can be used in a million ways. One of the pics shows the sash wrapped around her shouldrs like sleeves, and another shows it tied around her waist. I know it is kind of hard to tell with the dark dress. Can you tell I'm excited??
  10. For those of you who don't realize it, the siggy on here is of Maggie. I only wish I looked that good! Here is a pic of the two of us...at least you will be able to see who you have been talking to all of these months!
  11. Sarah, we went to New York and found it in the store front for Morgane Le Fay. But they only had it in the Navy Blue. Later we went to the design studio and they had it in cream and in a size smaller so we ordered it in white!
  12. Where did you ladis find the guys linen guayabera shirts for your weddings? My husband is Maggie's step-dad and will be accompanying her father in giving her away. Tadd wants all of the guys to wear the same style and color of shirts. The problem we are having is Buzz is a big guy! He will need at least a 2x. The shirts are white or off-white and linen. Any help would be much appreciated! Gracias!!
  13. This one I forgot. It was right after the tears. Here is the other one. She thought this one would be fun to salsa in!
  14. OK, I promised to post the gown Maggie fell in love with while we were shopping in NY, so here it is. I wasn't able to get the off-white photo, but you can see how it looks in Blue. I am also adding a couple of other gowns she liked. [/img] The last one didn't show up so I'll post it in another post.
  15. I think the photos are great. I especially like #s 1, 3 and 5. Those are the ones I would love to see on an STD. Lizzy
  16. Thanks everyone. I promise as soon as I can get my camera back from Maggie I will post the pix. I think I might even post the other ones she tried on. Maybe one of the new girls will see something they like.
  17. Heidi, I like your siggy too! Isn't New York great? I absolutely loved every minute of it. Tuesday night we went to the "penthouse" of our hotel for drinks. It turned out to be an outside lounge and bar on the roof. Canles with huricane lamps over them, litlle seperate seating areas with couches and coctail tables. If you looked in one direction you could see Lady Liberty, in another you saw the Empire State Building. All of the lights from the skyline were gorgeous. I WANT TO GO BACK!!!
  18. Well, after a nine hour delay for our flight back to Mpls. from JFK in New York, we arrived home at 6 am on Thursday. What a wonderful trip!! We arrived around 9:15 am, NY time on Tuesday morning. Took a taxi from JFK to Soho. We stayed at 60 Thompson, that's the name of the hotel. Maggie and I met Tadd's mom, Mary and a friend of hers, Lucy at 10. Our first appointment was at a store in Chelsea. I cannot think of the name of the store, but they were the storefront for Morgane Le Fay Designs. Maggie tried on about 8 gowns and really liked 2 of them. When she tried on the second to the last gown she came out of the dressing room in tears. As soon as we saw her in that gown Mary, Lucy and I began to cry! It was so lovely on her. The only problem was it was in navy blue. We had three other appointments for that day so we continued on. The next appointment was a total disappointment. The rep from the designer was a little snot. She was very prego and it was very hot and she was not pleasant. I must say, I can remember being pregnant with Josh in the heat of summer and I was a total bitch, so being snotty is not so bad. Anyway, none of their dresses even compared to Morgane Le Fay's. After lunch we went to Morgane Le Fay's design studio. Mary wanted to order some of their clothing for her store. We walked into the room where you pick the clothes for their model to wear for you, and there is the bridal gown in off-white!! And in an xtra-small ( Mags is a sz 0! )! The rep invites Maggie to try it on and again everyone is in tears. Maggie says she has to have this dress. We end up ordering the gown, then and there. Just as we finish with the order the designer for Morgane Le Fay enters the room and we are all introduced to her. What a lovely lady she is!. Her name is Lilianna Casabal. She said she was honored that Maggie would be wearing one of her gowns. Immagine that. Unfortunately, Mags has my cammera with all of the pix on it, and she is out of town again! I will post them as soon as I can catch up with her. The morning of Wednesday Mary, Mags and I were headed to Chinatown to check out the pashminas. As we were walking towards Canal street we came across Pearl River Store. Man, what a place that is! We looked at their parasols and fans as well as paper lanterns. Mary and I each bought a sandalwood fan. Mine fell apart before we even got to Chinatown! We only paid a dollar for them...I gues you get what you pay for! The lanterns were wonderful. Many sizes, colors, and shapes. The prices ranged from $2 - 14, if I remember correctly. I think we will go with palm fans instead of the sandalwood. They were in the same price range as the other girls have paid. We continued on our quest for the pashs. We went to about 6 booths and they all said 3 for $10. We just thanked them and moved on. They would call us back and make another offer. We finally worked out a deal with a woman who gave them to us for $2 each. We got 50 of them. I swear, they have just about any color you may want! I can certainly understand why Glenda wouldn't want to carry a bunch of these on the bus! They give you a plastic bag to carry them in and not the strongest plastic you have ever seen! We made it back to the hotel without dropping any of them though! So, this is the end of my review of my first time in New York. It was wonderful! I would go back tomorrow if I could. I loved the pace, the people, the sites and the feel of the city! It was so great. Sorry for the length of this. Lizzy
  19. Jason, you and Karen will have a wonderful time at your wedding and honeymoon. That woman loves you more than life, and I believe you feel the same way about her. Now is your time. Take in every second and never forget how you feel when you are pronounced man and wife. Best wishes to you and Karen, Lizzy
  20. I hope you two have the time of your lives! Happy Wedding and Happy Honeymoon! Lizzy
  21. Thanks Jamy. I am worried about the price range, even if we can get wholesale, but what a fun experience it will be!
  22. Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that Maggie and I are leaving for New York early Tuesday morning. We have several appointments to look at wedding gowns. Tadd's family is in the fashion business and some of the designers they know are meeting with us to show us their gowns! I can't believe this - I have never even been to NY b4!! Our hotel is in SOHO and Glenda says that it is very near Chinatown, so maybe we can kill two birds with one stone. So, I just wanted to share our good news with you all. Wish us luck and I will talk to you when we get back...only going for 2 days. Lizzy
  23. Nicole, have a wonderful time relaxing b4 the wedding, and then enjoying each step that brings you closer to being a Mrs. You are almost there! You will be a beautiful bride and your wedding will be lovely. Best wishes to you and your fiance, Lizzy
  24. Hey Court, you have been hiding all of your DIY Diva talents! You did a super job on them. Did you send them out to be printed, or did you do them on your puter? They are really pretty...I am very happy for you! Lizzy
