Maybe this is a silly question...but do you know if they will only ship red roses and a mixed vase of flowers? how come there are all those gorgeous pictures....

I was totally confused when I booked through Riu also...if you go into the wedding page, and then on the right hand side select the location and the package wedding you want and then a button comes up that says availability...click it and it will take you in to pick your wedding date, date of arrival, extras and then location...once you get your confirmation you will have to book a hotel room for a night but wait until you get a date...a lot of dates are taken for 2007...let me know if you need more help...

I think the dress is amazing and the copy looks really good from the pictures they sent. The dress is arriving in a couple days (right?) and I would wait and try it on --- even if it is identical to the original but you don't feel magical keep looking but from this side of the computer screen it looks gorgeous...I dont think you will know until it arrives...maybe start looking online for some back-up off the rack options just in case

I know I posted my ring on another thread but here it is again ( I think last time it wasn;t my exact ring but the one from the designer)

They have said they could give us an extra 15 minutes --- so we will take what we can. Basically the lady in charge of the time is based out of Cancun and she has decided that since we changed our times and dates (she originally booked us on Nov 2, 2007 which is Day of the Dead and she admitted after the fact we may not be able to get vendors and wouldn't recommend the date) before she wasn't willing to accomodate us again. The lady at Riu Cabo in charge of our wedding said they could move us up 15 minutes --- she seems more agreeable and accomodating. The Cancun lady said we couldn't have the basic ceremony for $700.00 because we are having a wedding party of 20 people instead of 10 --- once again the lady at Cabo Riu said they could do the cheaper package...grrr...my FI really wants Riu for its proximity to town, its AI and that it is more of a party place for our friends --- otherwise I would not put up with this...it will be amazing because I am marrying my best friend and even if Riu ends up being obnoxious...we will have to laugh about it and enjoy ourselves inspite of them...Juan Carlos is our photographer and he said we can work with it -- he is so great and so is Tammy (who is our TA) because they are both helping us every time our silly wedding location acts like a donkey..lol...thanks for the support girlies...

I asked for an earlier time again from Riu and asked them for either the four pm wedding time or even just an extra half an hour or 15 minutes would make a difference... and I also emailed Juan and asked him what he thought...I would hope that they would be accomodating and I definitely want some sunset pictures...the only pictures I didn't want ( which is why i picked the 6pm slot) are the pictures where the bride is wincing in the sunlight during her ceremony...lol...cross your fingers and hope it works out...all bumps in the road... "side note: Bryan (FI) is so sweet..he says although he would have liked the walk down the aisle to be the first glimpse of me in my wedding finery, he will be just as excited to see me before the wedding for picures...too cute...

Freaking out too much to type coherently... We have October 24th 2007 6pm wedding scheduled...and now my FI might have to see me before the wedding and take pictures...I guess...any suggestions on other options? Rooms are booked and the dates are set...ARG!!!

So after its all been insane and we have our time - I find out that the sun setting at 6:40pm and our wedding starting at 6pm is a bad idea because it will be dark for our pictures -- have asked Riu for a earlier time (online is shows they have the 4pm open) and they are saying there is no earlier time...ARG!!! So whats the advice

Awww I bet you miss your smitty...mine is a little boy and he thinks he is a dog-- if you aren't careful you shut him in the crate with penny when she goes in to sleep...lol...the new job is fabulous so far but its only the first week --- thanks so much for asking...i really love interior design and now that I get to do it to better peoples lives is really awesome.

My parents are giving us money and so we are using that to pay for our flights, theirs, my brothers and all of our rooms as well as ceremony etc. My FI parent's want to pay for their own room and flight and giving us a small amount of money to contribute to the wedding. We weren't originally planning on inviting anyone but our family so when our friends jumped on they are paying their own way. I am paying a bit of my maid of honors room so that I can stay there the night before the wedding.

So true...for anyone following this thread or who has questions about using a TA --- Tammy is mine ( I was being vague about it earlier in the thread so as not to put Tammy on the spot) and she totally rocks. She got us the better rate and is chock full of knowledge and extremely patient with the crazy destination brides. I fully recommend her and am soooo happy that we booked her. People thought it was strange I picked a TA in California when we are way over in Florida but she's the best...thanks again tammy for everything.

have to chime in...what about something like this...

I totally feel for everyone --- we originally planned on having a family wedding with only our parents and our siblings, but our friends jumped on board and now we are having a 25 person wedding which is fine, but my personal cutoff. My FI feels bad everytime someone assumes they are invited and feels like he should invite them and I have had to train him that this is a TINY DESTINATION WEDDING ----VERY INTIMATE and not for every schmuck we have ever met. My friends are way to polite to assume they are invited but his friends aren't so he has 17 of the 25 guests and I have 6 which means if we would reopen the invites, it would be for my friends...people are sooo dense...I had a friend's mom I just met ask if she was invited...and even worse, my FI ex girlfriend who we were friends with but who has decided she wants nothing to do with us since we got engaged - her mom thinks she might be invited...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I talked to my TA - she rocks - and she is trying to get them to allow the lower rate without any penalties...yay!!! waiting to see what happens with the hotel --- should find out tomorrow ----if it works === more wedding money for fun things!!!!!

I completely agree -- and if it ends up that we only save a couple hundred dollars and but lose our peace of mind I am all for staying with the TA. The room rates that are lower are directly through Riu Cabo not through Orbitz, Expedia etc. The TA talked to one of my guests and said she couldnt beat the price. My thing is I booked only two weeks ago and now it is cheaper --- I hate to lose wedding money over two weeks. I am totally comfortable with the chance that come August there will be some last minute deal where the rooms are like $5.00 and I will have spent a gazillion times as much --- there will always be a better price -- but over a matter of two weeks...I would really like to get the better price...Have to wait and see -- havent heard back from the TA yet.

I know one of my guests called her to book and found out online is cheaper...I guess I have to keep my fingers crossed that I can do something to save that money.

Did anyone cancel their reservation through their TA -- and was there a fee? We just found out that Riu in Cabo is way cheap right now for our dates and I am wondering if you have to pay a fee to cancel your TA reservation. Canceling and rebooking would save us almost 900 dollars (we have three rooms booked for my mom dad brother and me and FI) so it would be a fortune for our wedding money...any body know I have a call in to the TA but can't stand waiting...lol
