  1. I'm stuck on this as well. I'd get him an video iPod, but they're just about to come out with the iPhone, and I know he'd like that better. Thing is, it'll be about double the $ for me to buy it for him rather than us just wait for his cellphone contract to run out and him do some kind of trade with his razr. I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of cell phones, I am Unfrozen Cavegirl FW and refuse to ever get one.
  2. Sarah- I've said it before and I'll say it again, you look so beautiful and so...at peace. (also, your teeth, they are so white!) The videos are awesome. I can't believe what an organized bride you were to get all that decorating done. I'm 5 weeks away and don't have one decoration. You must've taken like a year off work or something. Thanks for sharing it with us!
  3. A girlfriend of mine showed up at a pool party I had the other day with a personalized koozie from her wedding. She said she loves them and loves watching people still use them two years later.
  4. Jilly- I'm a little late to this, but I think you know all of my dress drama. And I'm glad I went and got a different dress, although (and listen to this) I was really against paying more than $200 for a dress I was only going to wear once, and I ended up paying over $1000. Which everyone assures me is not nuts, but it is to me! Anyway, the new dress is entirely too fancy for the beach. It was too expensive. But you know what my mom says? "We have to get you the dress that makes you feel like a million dollars. It's your wedding." So, that being said, I say get the new one, sell the old one, and DON'T LOOK BACK! (if it really makes you happier)
  5. Welcome! I don't know anything about Cabo, but there are lots of girls on here who do...you'll find them very helpful. Just don't start looking at all their dresses AFTER you get yours, you'll go nuts with regret! On an unrelated note, Jilly and Kelly need to change their footers, because the pictures are so presh they're distracting.
  6. Tammy- You are going to look SO AWESOME and I am super jealous of your jawline. Man, I'm going to have to go spend some $ on some makeup now, huh? You girls are KILLING me.
  7. Karla- You look stunning. Seriously, why DOES every bride on here look like a model? I am seriously going to have to have surgery or something before my wedding so I can post pics!
  8. First of all, Toby, your dress is soooo pretty. I think somehow I missed it. Do you have a picture of you in it in another thread? Second, try ebay for a cheap veil, that way you can get one and not regret it too much if you don't like it. http://cgi.ebay.com/French-Russian-N...QQcmdZViewItem This seller has several different types for like $35.
  9. Sarah- I know I've already said how pretty you look, but you also look so genuinely happy and peaceful! Seriously. Your cake is beautiful! Did you have it made or is it the one the hotel provided? I assume you brought the toppers, did you put the rose petals on as well? What else did you take as decorations? I am really wanting to leave that all in the hotel's hands, but wondering if I should bring a little something.
  10. No wonder Edyta is a much prettier bride than I'll be...besides the genes, she's ten years younger. Dang! Happy Birthday, Mrs. Lady.
  11. Nicole, that's awesome. I wish more of you guys would do a thread like this...
  12. Anny- Those pics are awesome! Congratulations! You've inspired me to kick it up a notch for our legal ceremony, which will also be on my bday. You look so lovely. On an unrelated note, which Pronovias are you getting made? I went and tried some on the other day and loved them all...I knew I wanted that designer, but then ended up getting something at a different place.
  13. I know, Jason, geez. Especially when the FH gets up to sing "Take On Me" and dogs start howling when he hits the high notes. Only slightly better than a dollar dance.
  14. Natasha- Given enough time, do you think they could learn Question? I'm stoked that you've even heard that song. Most people haven't. The FH and I have half-jokingly considered trying to see if Rhett Miller would come sing it for us at our wedding, but then seeing him at my wedding might muddy my intentions a little bit!

Just cautioning you to not get too excited about that aspect. The T/Q DOES make a mean mudslide, though.
  16. Kelly- I love that dress, and I actually considered buying one from the exact eBay vendor you're looking at. Let me put in a word of advice, though. I bought a dress from a dressmaker on eBay, a copy of a Divina Sposa, and while the dressmaker made it pretty true to the original, the material was not what I would want in a dress and the fit just wasn't great (even though I sent measurements from a seamstress). Instead, I would urge you to take it to a local seamstress you trust or someone you know trusts, and have her copy it with the exact materials and colors you pick out. I only say this because I've just gone through it, and as a consequence, ended up spending wayyy too much on a second wedding dress (because I was trying to cut corners in the first place). If I were going to go the eBay route again (which I am banned from by my mother from even LOOKING at dresses), I would buy one from a place like this eBay Store - Couture Bridal Gallery: Bridal Gowns HOT DEALS where they sell the actual designer's dress (not this year's styles, though) for on the cheap.
  17. Yes, they do have karaoke at Dreams. Sandra said she would set it up for our reception as long as we "don't disrupt the other guests." (sounds likely). Anyway, I've been to their karaoke before...you haven't lived until you've heard "Yellow" sung in a spanish accent--"and eet was all jellow."
  18. Aw, Tammy, it's beautiful! I really must quit looking at all you guys' dresses. It's just making me feel inferior. What an awesome choice, and you're quite beautiful in it.
  19. I've been to this resort a few times. The first time I went was for a girlfriend's wedding, and it was lovely. They had it in the middle of the resort, in a junglelike setting. Then we all had champagne and drinks from a nearby bar, and then went to the dinner in the Mexican restaurant. Afterwards they had the disco rented out, but I didn't make it that far. She loved her wedding but said the photographer at the resort is not all that great. The beach there is great and it's a very beautiful spot. The only thing I don't like about the Iberostar is how touristy and crowded it is. But the FH loves exactly that, so different strokes for different folks, I guess. I do like its proximity to Playa. I especially like going for runs down that road that leads into Playa, and then running back and jumping in the pool. So much fun! Or riding bikes into town for lunch. If you decide to have your wedding here, it will be great.
  20. They're having two weddings on my wedding day, mine in the morning and one in the evening. I'm bringing my own photographer, but there are photographers on this site who might be able to help you as well. I wanted Matt Adcock and/or Sol Tamargo, but they were booked for the entire week I'm there at Dreams. I've been to Dreams a few times, so if there's anything specific about the resort you want to know, just PM me and I'll be happy to help in any way. It's my favorite resort in the RM, and I can't wait to get married there and spend time with all my closest family and friends on the beach with a margarita in hand! Sandra is slow in responding, and the group rates the sales team gave me are, like someone else said, not really significant. It was cheaper to go through either Orbitz or Cheaptickets. The transfer from the airport is long, probably about an hour and a half. It goes by pretty quick, though. If you don't do a private transfer, you might not want to book your return flight too early in the a.m., because they'll come get you about four hours before your flight! Hope this helps. L P.S. One time we just took the public bus to Tulum and that actually wasn't too bad, and it was like $7. I mean, I'm not going to do it this trip, but it is an option.
  21. Oh, I'm mentally challenged...I see you have 11.
  22. Melissa- How many OOT bags do you have and how much are you selling them for? My invitations have hibiscus on them, so they might be good for me.
  23. I've posted this elsewhere, but ours is "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service, but I also like "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO and "Big Blue Sun" by Adrian Belew (both cute and upbeat). Maybe Modest Mouse "I Will Follow You" might be cute, too.

I have a proof that words don't matter - my FI is a photographer and one of the brides chose this song for her DVD slideshow...lol we had to cut it out Loreta That's actually the song I was going to walk down the aisle to! We had decided to just fade it out before it got to the "til I find somebody else" part. Now I'm starting to lean toward "Question" by the Old 97's since I love them and it's what the FH sang to me when he proposed. We're walking back off to "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service.
