  1. I called Sandra a few times and got her voicemail, and then she emailed me for me to send her my number so she could call me back. She actually did and we chatted and she answered all my questions. I don't have any misgivings that something might not get done. But I did have to be pretty persistent.
  2. This one is also very similar (sorry, I'm chiming in late, but I love a good hunt). Free engraving/shipping. Hey, and I also live in Austin and know a diamond guy!
  3. Courtney, don't worry. You are way less...incarcerated...than Paris Hilton! Ann, those are great. And I love your shoes. I can't remember if they had heels. Does anyone know if it's going to be tough to walk in the sand with those little kitten heels, because I really liked some of those you posted.
  4. Julie- I'll have to check it out...Payless does not offend my frugal sensibilities! On a side note, your avatar makes you look like Julianna Moore. Do you get that in real life?
  5. Tammy, seriously, those "non-pro" pics are as good as pro! You're so beautiful in all of them. Where were you when I was trying to find a perfect DW dress Congrats and can't wait to see the pro pics. Although, if they're on Juan's website, no looky for me.
  6. Jill- I AM actually a size 11, so I'm totally checking into those! Julie, I especially love the wedges you sent. They're awesome. But I don't have time to figure out dying a shoe and they only come in white Tasha-the closer we get, I'm thinking about going shoeless, except I'm afraid my feet will burn off. I have neuropathy which makes walking barefoot a little painful for me. It's dumb, but I have a hard time without shoes, even on the beach. Christine, so I can do the veil without a tiara...but how will I attach it to my shaved head? And I do love the idea of wearing a tiara all week long (although I don't know if I'm actually ballsy enough to do that)
  7. Jill- I love those shell ones. Where did you find those? That probably comes the closest to what I need, except they need to be a little more sparkley. And although I hate gold tones, I'm going to have to go with gold tones or pearls or rhinestones to match my dress. Thanks! And Christine, PLEASE post those pics when you get them. I can't wait to see them. Jill, what kind of flower did you get?
  8. Sarah- Those are so beautiful! And yay! Some Juan Carlos photos I can actually view! Congratulations. You look absolutely breathtaking (but I've said that before).

I don't think the words are so compatible, but the melody would be such a great first dance song. Hope this helps!
  10. Amy, your AHR is the same day as mine! We just put "It is with love and joy that we invite you to join us in a reception to celebrate our marriage" and then the time/date details follow. Those invitations are very similar but different wording than the wedding ones. For the wedding ones, we worded it appropriately, but then in one of the pocketfolds, put a little card that had directions to the AHR with a date and time. The RSVPs for the wedding had spots for both wedding and reception. Then some people only got the reception one, which was the first one I discussed. Does this straighten anything out?
  11. Jill, I did already get the veil. It was part of that final excursion with my mom that offended my bargain hunter/cheapskate sensibilities where she just went and pretty much purchased everything I had on (without even checking to see if we could get it cheaper on the internet! Crazy!) But it's very pretty. I'm wondering if a flower with the veil would go since my dress is a little more formal, but I love the idea of it. I am really trying to do without the tiara, and I like the idea of putting the veil on the back of the head, but my hair's so short, I have no idea how I'm going to wear it. Although, if I get a tiara, I can wear it to my reception, too! And for the rest of the week around the resort in my bikini!
  12. That is a GORGEOUS dress. Since I now have FIVE dresses, Must. Quit. Looking.
  13. Once again, I'm going to turn to you girls for help. I can't decide on shoes. I bought some bronze ones that will do in a pinch, but I'm not wow'ed by them. Here are my constraints: They can't have a spike heel because it'll be in the sand. They can't be too tall, because I'm already 5'9" and the FH is 6'0". My dress is an ivory color with some mocha and pearl beading. I really hate gold overtones. I wanted some of those 'barefoot sandals' thingies, but if I get them, I want them in rhinestone, not any sort of beading. And, of course, I don't want to spend a fortune on my shoes. Oh, and also, I hate flipflop styles. So, help! And I know your work is cut out for you. On the veil side: I have hair to my shoulders and a cathedral veil. How do girls wear their veils? Do I have to get a tiara (I'm afraid with the jewelry I want, that'll be too much bling)? How in the heck do you wear a veil without a tiara/does it look stupid? P.S. three more weeks!
  14. Oh, I see you were at the other IB*. Hey, why don't you Dallas girls have your get together in Austin?
  15. You two are such a goodlooking couple! and Martin did such a good job on the ring...did he have any help? (that's what everyone always asks me about mine) Where were you guys? That doesn't look like the Quetzal/Tucan.
  16. Loreta- I'm not going to say anything that everyone else hasn't said, but WHAT A PERFECT WEDDING! You are so beautiful, and you guys look so happy, and Sol did such a great job! I had planned on throwing together a few necklaces like you did, but could never find some that I thought would look good together. If you're looking around online and find something that would look good in ivory, PM me, okay? (I am totally going to try to use your incredible fashion sense in some way). I was also going to walk down the aisle to Blower's Daughter, then changed my mind to Question by the Old 97's, but now I'm starting to rethink Blower's Daughter after Sol described it going over so well for you guys. Congratulations, girl! Now put up your feet and enjoy married life, you, if anyone, deserve it! (except keep an eye out for those necklace combos!)
  17. Jill, you totally ruined my surprise. I was buying you the limited dress in exchange for the girl pup! Seriously, I'm so glad you worked it out. I know you're like me and were tortured about the price of the limited, so it sounds like you found the perfect solution! Now go put on some aloe and get to picture-takin'.
  18. I would put something really simple in them, like pussy willow branches or golden lotus or I agree with cherry blossoms (though I would go with white). Asian themes are super fun. You can do the paper parasols and lanterns, and you can make origami placecards!

    Hello All

I'm not sure, but I think the moon palace might be more than you want your guests to spend. But I wouldn't worry about bad reviews on TripAdvisor. I've seen several bad reviews for places that I've ended up loving. I swear, those reviewers are the whiniest lot I've come across. If you want nightlife, your best bet is somewhere in Cancun for the RM. It's not happening too much on the rest of that coast. Playa del Carmen is much, much quieter, but you can go out to bars there at night.
  20. Okay, Juan, since I have your ear...it's not fair that you're putting all these photos of these girls on here that I hear are phenomenal and they're not mac friendly! I mean, come on!
  21. I have one thing to say about this: HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MY WEBSITE AND MY GIFT GIVING REGULATIONS WHEN I'M RIGHT HERE! THEY ARE JUST STRICT RULES ABOUT HOW YOU SHOULD TREAT ME THAT EVERYONE MUST ABIDE BY! JUST TRYING TO MAKE THINGS EASIER! haha, just joking. it's not really my website. but I DO have one thing to say about this, which is: what gets into people?
  22. Those are awesome! You look absolutely beautiful, Jessica. Where are you hiding that baby bump? I LOVE the pic of you guys' feet (162). Your photographer did an awesome job all the way around. What was your favorite part of your wedding?
