  1. Yes they are changing... which I didn't know until I asked! I am concerned with hidden fees lke the tablecloths and a few things we take for granted.... I need to know everything up front! Here is her latest email: I have some more questions for you so we can add some more items to our wedding contract: 1. Is there a new menu for the 2008 weddings? I noticed the prices for silver and gold are the same in the 2007 menu. We don`t have new menus for 2008 yet 2. We had planned to do a welcome dinner, at one of the restaurants the Friday night of 2/1. We were just going to have the normal AI meal plan. there will be a set up fee if you want to use a restaurant for a rehearsal dinner, you need to choose a set menú at the available sittings are 6:00 or 9:30 p.m. What are the menu options that would be above the AI plan and what would approx costs be for a welcome dinner for our group? World café: international buffet Oceana: seafood 3. Since we are using Claudia Rodriguez for photography, you mentioned we could get an upgraded video package. yes… What is included in that upgraded video package? more time fort he videographer… 4. Is there any decor for the cocktail hour? just cocktail tables and votive caudle holders one each table If I bring my own, are there any costs associated with the setup or is it included in the Ultimate Dreams package? will have a set up fee… 5. Approximately how many square votives would be needed for the long dinner setup for 50 people? @ 4-6 per table If you provide the votives, what would the cost be? $ 15 usd per table… 6. Is the bar open during the dinner time, or is it closed for a period of time? If so, how long is it closed? is available during dinner… 7. Is it possible to have a chocolate and vanilla cake together, different layers? yes… 8. Since the cigar roller is per consumption, do you know the average cost per cigar? (My finace really wants this). @ 10-20 usd each… 9. My fiance really wants the fire dancers. When do they normally perform during the night? Middle or end of reception? anytime you want them… Muchisimas gracias!
  2. OMG! You almost made me choke from laughing!

  4. Anny (anagarcia) had one there at the same gazebo between the Casa Magna and JW Marriott. There was a church where she was going to have it that was beautiful, but changed to the outdoor venue. Do a search for those threads or send her a PM.
  5. Kimiko! Excellent review! I am so happy your wedding was so perfect! You have given me answers to so many of my questions as a Dreams bride myself. I do have more, but I will hit you up later I loved your colours, your theme, the oot bags... so have given us some wonderful tips! I am anxiously awaiting your professional pictures since I am using the same company!
  6. I apologize, I slacked yesterday... But I hope you two had an excellent birthday!
  7. "Welcome to the Fiesta" Bienvenidos a la fiesta "Candy" Dulces "Food" Comida "Drinks" Bebidas
  8. The welcome dinner may be reserving a space at a restaurant on site... not sure yet... Claudia says the 2008 menus are not out yet... which I wished I knew before trying to narrow it down on what she gave me for 2007. Jilly! I've missed you!
  9. I will not be much help... we are waiting until we are in Cancun and will have all of our friends that want and can go out have dinner together and then go to some clubs the Thursday night before we get married. So I guess it's untraditional because it's all of us, not just girls... most of our close friends don't live here, which is one reason we are having a DW! Hey Tami (foxytv), my sister got married at Spiegel Farms in Campobello last April. We did their joint bachelor/bacheorette outing in downtown Greenville. Hmmm, Wild wings maybe then a dance club down the street. We had a great time!
  10. Very niiiiice Twink! Okay, okay... so he obviously wants to start wearing it... Set a date already! Hehe, I know, I know... there are many things to consider right now. BTW... when I pulled up the last link, I saw you peering under some very nicely groomed eyebrows! I love them! I have to go find the other thread now to read about the experience.
  11. I agree that this is the hardest decision... took me several weeks! A few questions... How many people are you expecting to attend? Do you want a small location or large? I will tell you a few of the places I looked at in the RM: JW Marriott - nice wedding gazebo Marriott Casa Magna - same gazebo, guests could stay at either hotel Hilton Cancun - modern decor, nice pools and beach area Playacar Palace- in Playa del Carmen, modern decor, all-inclusive, smaller than the other resorts I mentioned. I really wanted to have it here but we had too many people planning to attend. We finally decided on Dreams Cancun... after trying to stay away from AIs due to price, and wanting to give our guests choices... it really is the best option for us. It has a beautiful gazebo that overlooks the ocean and has so much to offer our guests. It is kid friendly that is important to us as there are several little ones attending. I actually put together a spreadsheet with ALL the hotels in Cancun and the RM and looked through the visitor pictures and hotel pictures from Trip Advisor. I made note of the prices during that time frame if given... some were not posted yet, what was included, what the wedding packages were, something that stood out of the pictures that I would be able to remember, and then if I really just didn't like it at all I greyed it out. Once I narrowed it down to about five, my FI and I went over the details of each. We had both really liked Dreams from the beginning. We had a few factors that made us move the date to early next year. So I sent s few dates to their WC, she told it was available and we had a location and date that was a winner! This really is a hard decision, you will find many threads about it here. Tammy(host) has information on many resorts in the RM listed here to assist in your decision making. Good luck and let us know (other than throwing the dart for you) how we can help PS: I am in Columbus Ohio.
  12. Thanks goodness for margaritas (and mothers of course!) Glad to hear it all went well and that someone other than you two were taking pictures Hmmmmm... what could that next project be?
  13. Awwwww, thank you Sarah! Not photogenic like you though! They will have to take tons of pictures at the wedding so we can get a few good ones, ha!
  14. Welcome Martin! (Nice job on the proposal by the way!)
  15. Very nice work ladies! I didn't have engagement pictures... ~sigh~ will have to wait until after our wedding
  16. That is excellent Jen! That is one of the hardest things about planning. Now you can plan all the details
  17. Oooooh... It'a about time! Just kidding! You looked gorgeous Sarah! I love that the ceremony included the whole family. The table is stunning! I don't think I have seen that colour combo before, can't wait to see it in Juan's pictures!
  18. Juan Carlos, excellent slideshow... I love the pictures! Tammy and Cain, you are both such beautiful people and you are just beaming when are are together. The song goes just perfectly. (That is my favourite Cure song too ... but who sings this cover?)
