  1. I did not, but be sure to only try on a few... it can get overwhelming If they let you take pictures, then have them take them for you so you can remember what they looked like. Have a great time!!!

Welcome Shellie! This is a great forum for ideas, nice of you to help plan
  5. Fingers are crossed! I heard them say something on the news about it being like the one in 2005... We had a trip to Cancun that year we had to cancel that destryed our hotel. Let's hope they are wrong! Weather people are often wrong aren't they?! Galit is there on her site visit right now...
  6. I was having the same issues since Save the Date is not easily translated to Spanish and sending one is not common practice in Mexico. I ended up only sending them in English

  9. I have had some people visit, mostly those that like to plan and travel. We will continue to use it for a little while after the wedding to add pictures links etc. so I think we will get more use out of it. I only paid $25 for mine though.
  10. Can you see this? I love this drawing... Royalty-free stock Illustration [Vector] | Fiesta Bride | iStockphoto.com
  11. - Decorate with some white papel picado (I think plum party or OTC had some that was white). - Line up drinks into see thru glasses that are clear liquid on the bottom and float green on the top and add a cheery for the red. - Buy some real cactus in terracotta pots to decorate. I will look for the cartoon. (I love the chiles in a bowl idea - btw).
  12. Sounded like she spoke (loudly) without thinking first, but then along with the invite issue, sounds like something is up with her. I am sorry to hear you are having these issues, but hopefully it will pass. Your wedding is coming up so soon!
  13. I would not lie about it... not sure why you would need to say you made it when you didn't... especially if you thought it was a heluva dip to share with everyone...
  14. Ohhh! Is anyone getting married there soon? Fingers are crossed that it will fizzle out !
  15. Maria, I think you hit it on the head... there are so many other aspects of planning that I need to do that are on my list and in my dreams, that lining up things just right, not dealing with a jammed printer, etc. would be nice
  16. How cute! You know how we (speaking for myself) love pictures! (Did someone once call us picture whores?)

My costs added up to $100.04 ($0.97 each)! Wow, now I feel better about doing them myself! HA! Haha! You 'borrowed' the cardstock? Can't wait to see their reaction when you put back the borrowed stock with your lovely designs on it ;P Ugh, that is a lot cheaper... but I think I would still use envelopments if I made them all myself and like Susan said, they are not cheap: 5x7C2- EnvyLandscape Pocket Fold$2.25 $ $168.75 5x7C2-White MicahCardstock (invite)$0.45 $ $33.75 5x7C2-White MicahCardstock *cut (info insert) $0.49 $ $36.75 4x5C2-White MicahCardstock (RSVP)$0.45 $ $33.75 1x2C2-White MicahSeal $0.50 $ $37.50 5x7E2-White MicahMailing Envelope $0.44 $ $33.00 printprinting $1.50 $112.50 (I will assemble) Melissa, I don't have a picture, I have print outs of my ideas that I showed her. I am thinking green (like my ticker below) and white... looks crisp and clean. I still think I am using an orange for the BM dresses, but I don't want the green and orange together unless they are flowers. Kinda torn about that. Not sure I want orange and white invites.
  18. Thank you all for your help! I have shown her my designs- which she will build from, some invitations we like, what we don't like... I think I will make sure some of my designs is used, but let her do it! Thanks Anny and Galit! Susan, I remember your beautiful invites and some of the pains you mentioned, so I wasn't sure which way to go. I even copied your directions to try an do them myself, but it made my head spin a little . I really did like the envelopments when I saw them in person. Meliss, I do know what you mean, I may let them get sloppy after putting together a few For this lady to print them (and design, no charge) it will cost $112.50 ... cheap in the grand scheme of things!
  19. Good morning Myles! I think that is a good idea, we are also doing that. We are staying one day later than most at the wedding resort and are finding another location to spend a few days for our honeymoon.
  20. Hope your first day at your new job is excellent!
  21. I met with a very nice lady today who makes invitations and is an authorized envelopments retailer. I really just wanted to see a few colours in person since online they can be so different. I am glad I did, I found a new colour I really liked and the size I had thought I wanted, was really way too big. I need 75 invites, got the quote without assembling the one piece that needed to be affixed to the inside of the envelopment. Her prices seemed reasonable to me as she does not charge for logos, graphic set up, but a flat $1.50 per invite for printing... so whatever inserts you have, they are included. This is my dilemna... I am fully capable of doing these all myself, but should I? The designing, the setup, the creativity, all of it, but I find myself getting more frustrated trying to do this for myself! When someone says, draw me this, or this is kind of what I want... I can do it for others... I don't know why I am having such a hard time doing this for my own wedding! I have so many ideas, bookmarks, saved pictures... I have created some monograms/logos for our own wedding as well, but am not crazy about them. I sat down with her and gave her some ideas and I feel like she now knows better what I want better than me Some had said it is very tedious, but are glad they did them themselves. Some say it is worth the savings. Any advice? (Sorry I rambled...)
