  1. Claudia put me in touch with him, through the cigar guy that is in the lobby in the evenings. The cigars we got were $10 each.

I know Paula and Susan had good experiences with their hired DJ's but I have heard of one or two not showing up to Dreams Cancun, especially for one girl who just posted her review recently (can't remember her name off the top of my head). I didn't have a DJ, just the guy that operated the sound system. You could tell he had DJ experience though.

The contracts are not final until they meet with you when you are there. It is good to have most of it decided and now they have all the options on their website, so you can make most decisions. The other thing I did was look carefully at previous DC brides pictures to be sure to ask for certain things. This may not be what you want to hear, it was advice I also received...but know that about a month before your wedding date you will receive quick turnarounds on your emails. They have so many events each week I can understand how weddings that are far out don't take priority. When I met with Claudia I realized I was worried about nothing. She had a folder full of our correspondence and pictures I sent. She made suggestions when I told her my ideas and she is the expert. So, don't worry, it will be perfect!
  4. For any Dreams Cancun brides... know that if you want these callas, you need to get them ordered in advanced through Claudia. They are imported from Holland. The other option is to have white ones dyed, but those are larger flowers.
  5. We had the cigar roller there. There are pictures in my link below of his setup. There was no price to contract him, just a minimum amount to purchase depending on the size of your party. We did 25 cigars, we had 41 people and we tipped him. Not sure were you could project... I don't think there is a good wall for it in the tower lobby or terrace.
  6. Depends on how many guests you have... Jilly brought her docking station and used her ipod and said it worked very well. I had my ipod and the sound guy played it, actually mixed, the ends and beginnings of songs for us. He did not announce anything, so he didn't do that kind of DJ duty. I was actually very pleased with him.
  7. So I voted for the last option Lizz. I think it's important that you get the bouquet you love for yourself. My sister didn't end up getting any of the flowers she wanted in the end (not DW) and she is still upset about it! They were beautiful in my opinion, but they were not what she wanted. I was concerned with what the resort was going to be able to provide for us since I didn't like any of their options, but they were absolutely will to work with me. So in my opinion, get what you really want for you and I think the parasols is a cool different idea for BMs.
  8. I had mine in the tower lobby and cocktail hour and dancing was on the terrace. We did not opt for the beach since we paid for our own wedding, there were several extra expenses to having it on the beach we didn't want to pay for... The lights under the tables and the dance floor we a large expense for us. Since we were married in February, it was extremely windy, so it was good to have dinner inside. My friends with babies preferred to stay inside away from the wind as well.
  9. Mine was gonje yesterday, but I checked my user control panel and the code was still there. Today it's all back to normal for me
  10. Great! It will be fun! It was very hard for me since I have no idea how to pose, but it sounds like you already an idea of what you want. And no... you don't need to lose weight missy!
  11. What a beautiful wedding! Your colours are so vibrant! Belated congratulations Natasha!

The resort photographer is not actually from the resort, they use Cancun Studios for their photography and videography in their wedding packages. I used them for videography and I was very pleased with Mike's work. I upgraded my package since I didn't use their photography package. I used Claudia Rodriguez for photography. I think anyone from her team would be great! We also used Sol Tamargo from Del Sol for a TTD, honeymoon session and she does excellent work.

Then I danced with my dad and she announced DH dancing with his mom half way through that dance since the song was so long. So the microphone is there... we used it outside when we were dancing too to sing with, it was hysterical!
  15. You are stunning! They are all great pictures, but I think that first one is my favourite!
  16. Oh, and a lot of the information we had posted in this thread as far as pictures, flowers, etc. is now on the re-designed Dreams site. Haha! Yeah, now that my wedding has come and gone!

Also do a search (upper right) for Dreams Cancun, there are some other thread with pictures out there. Hope this helps!
  18. Congrats Mirna! I just got married there Do a search for Dreams Cancun and you will find many helpful threads on here! Let us know how we can help with your planning.
  19. Before the ceremony began, we had guitar music from a CD we made which was not too Mexican, but it was beautiful. Look on iTunes for music by Andre Krylov or Michael Soloway. We had a maricahi trio for the cocktail hour that was included in our wedding package.
  20. Let me check, I may have 2 left over that I have not unwrapped...
  21. I was just married there on 2/2/2008, so I am a 2008 bride I have not posted my review yet, but it was perfect. Here is a link to our pictures by Claudia Rodriguez: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15469 A 360 degree view at the gazebo: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15989 And we cannot forget this thread that had so much useful info for Dreams Cancun Brides... It actually saved me from going insane during my planning: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2782
  22. Congratulations Lauren! I have only made it through the first link and the pictures are amazing! You are a beautiful bride and it looks like it was a blast!
