I did a bit differently. I am not sending Save the Date cards, instead I am sending out a formal invitation, with an insert from the travel agent 10-11 months in advance. We promised everyone a full years notice - and I didn't want to send out both StD and invites.

What I did, was go and look on The Knot or on the Brides website, they don't tell you how much exactly, but they will give you the ball park (ie $$$ means between $1501 adn $3000)

I can totally relate to what you are going through! I finally had to take a week off of looking at resorts, and then I went back with the mindset that there is no 'perfect' resort. But there are a ton amazing - 'close to perfect' resorts Try figuring out the top 2/3 things that are the most important to you - and then only examine the resorts that fit that criteria. I finally did that - and I am down to 2 resorts! Good luck - let me know if you have any questions!

I haven't been to the hotel - but I think it looks fantastic! It would definitly be one of my top picks, but FI squashed it, because although he loved that it was a smaller resort - he was afraid it was too small and we would run the risk of not having everyone book into it (there is the potential that we may have 100+ people) But in my opinion, it looks lovely, and I love Karisma hotels - and the options they offer for weddings!

That's a tough one Paula. My FI's parents and brother are giving us a tough time about it - we were told we were inconsiderate to want to go away to get married, because then not everyone can come. Which is kind of unfair! We have always wanted to get married on a beach with a small intimate group of people, so we just made the decision that we were going through with it no matter what. But we also made the decision that this could me not everyone we love and want to be there - will be there. Is there a reason why your sister is giving you a tough time? Is there something that can be done, that you are willing to do, to accomodate her concerns?

Thanks so much for the info. The Paradisus is one of my top 3 resorts - and I am having trouble making a decision! Have you a good experience so far dealing with the resort?
