That's weird, because I've been there twice and talked to the owner on the phone a couple of times, and she was fantastic (although a bit standoffish at first, as I mentioned above). She went out of her way for my mom and I and didn't bitch at all. Perhaps she was just having a bad day?! Either way sorry you had a bad time - no bride should have a bad time dress shopping

Hey, S2, 1008 - 12th Avenue SW, 668-4649. I've been twice - and both times I booked an hour. That seemed like more then enough time. Since it is a small shop, they don't have a tone of dresses. I tried on 6 or 7 in that time there. I think Jane is the owner. She sometimes can be bit standoffish when you first come in - but once she gets comfortable with you - she is super nice! Let me know how it goes!!

Hey! Thanks Nini! I went to Ethos in Calgary - and it was Bridal Pandamonium!! insane!! I've also been to S2 in Calgary. It was fantastic! It is a very small boutique shop downtown off of 12th Ave. It carries mid range to more expensive dresses (including Waters, pronovias and cymbeline) but the service was fantastic. They only take appointments, and will only take up to 2 at a time. They also include all alteration costs in the dress price. Thanks for the tip on BB - I will most definitly check it out! I've seen it - but never stopped in yet!

WOW - well first off congrats! and welcome to the site - you are at the right spot; Second - you basically just described the exact predicament I had! I want exactly what you want and I had almost the exact same short list I decided to go with the El Dorado - I think it is simply stunning. My second close choice was The Royal - but like you, I did not like that the beach may be busier, and thus it may not be as private. Another thing you could consider is staying at the Royal - but having the ceremony off site, or having the whole wedding off site. There are a few locations listed in the RM folder where you could have the wedding off site. FI and I have a joint credit card with Visa. We gain Air Mile points every time we use it, but if we buy fuel or gas - we get double the points. We just booked airplane ticket to Glasgow, hotels in Glasgow, Edinbourgh and London, and a car to travel in - all with the Air Mile points That's my kind of trip!

I think they are simple & elegant! They look great! I personally love the RSVP - too cute Have you tried squeezing a starfish? if that doesn't break, I wouldn't get to worried about it. If you are worried about it, I guess you could always just place a bunched up tissue around it after you stick it in the envelope?!? I don't know - I'm sorry I have no experince with this either!! But anyways - I think they look great!
