  1. Thanks so much ladies! Quote: Originally Posted by Tlseege What if you bought the clear luggage tag things from Office max and attached those to the stretchy bracelet thing? It'll make her double happy since she has more to do
  2. I LOVE it! But I may already be partial - since you are using the colors that I am also using (blue and orange)! I think once you add the runner it will be perfect! I agree, I think the original pic is too busy - yours will be simple and elegant! I like the favor better with the bow as well. Can't wait to see the decorations in action!
  3. Thanks ladies! I think it is probably pretty safe to say that they are electronic cards....I'll have to tell mom it won't work...I'm quite sure she will be disappointed(!)
  4. To anyone who has been to the EDR!! This may be coming out of left field but I was wondering: What are the room keys like? are they a card or an actual key? and What type of safes are they? electronic or accessible by key only? I told my mother all about OTT bags (yesterday) and she has now taken control of the project(!) She thought it would be a good idea to get the coil wrist bands for them for the guests to attach their keys to. She actually called me from the middle of some store to tell me all about a good deal on them she found....the only thing that stopped her from buying the whole lot was my suggestion that maybe the room keys were actually cards - and therefore her idea wouldn't fly....I had to promise to find out asap!! Gotta love my mom!!
  5. That is actually not to bad. I think I remember reading at EDR it is $1200 for 45 min for a trio....I want a marachi trio/band - but I don't want it that bad Edit - never mind I was mistaken! that quote was for 10 people. For the trio it is $700 for 45 min. Still a hell of alot in my opinion though!!
  6. Hey! I just had a passport freakout a week ago. So I found a 1800 number online. You can call in to check on your status, or you can send an email Here's the link: Passport Canada: Contact us but it took a week for them to reply to the email - so I'd call.
  7. Hey - thanks! Here is the link for that dress: Jasmine Bridal
  8. Ladies - thanks so much for all your help!! I just bought my dress yesterday! Super exicted! I decided to go with the Jasmine dress. and bonus: it was on a 10% discount for this weekend only - must have been fate
  9. Wow! Congratulations! What a stunning wedding! You were a beautiful bride! I LOVED your dress I have a few questions - do you mind if I pick your brain? 1. Where did you get married? it was a beautiful location! 2. Who did your hair & makeup? 3. Where did you get the white sandals that had blue stones on the straps? and where did you get your earrings?
  10. You look HOTT! Love it! congrats on finding THE dress
  11. Beautiful! I love Watters dresses - and you look amazing in it! Congrats!!

  13. Check this out for fishing: Capt. Rick's Sport Fishing Cool Links I haven't used the company but friends of ours have and recommend it. We are planning on chartering a couple of big boats for a day for all the fisherman in our group

She is my MOH, so I said we could wait. Hopefully we are getting them this week though. well - I'm not on the ball by choice I will be way too busy next year so I am trying to get as much done as possible now. I will write my last law school exam a week before we leave for the wedding, and we will also be in the midst of selling our house in Edmonton and moving back to Calgary at the same time I'm sure you have more then enough time to get them can't wait to see pics when you do! ps - congrats on becoming an auntie!
  15. Kelly - nice idea! I like it! Yes, I could totally see him missing the landing point (I mean how could you control it!) My other fear is that the boat driver will screw up and land him in a different wedding going on at the resort - hehe! opps!
  16. I love the digital frame idea too! For the reception tables, I plan on using different items that are important in our lives. 1 table name will be "Abby & Stolie" after our 2 furbabies. another table will be called "Sledding" since it is Reilly's fav past time, that I have taken up (and we got engaged after snowmobiling to the top of a mountain in Revelstoke). Another one will be "Edmonton" because this is where we have been living for the past 2 years while I go to school etc. You get the drift! I thought that at each of the tables there would be a pic of the item and a little description of why it is important to us/our relationship! oh and Reilly plans on making his grand entrance to the ceremony via parasailing....we will see if that happens or not though but he is quite serious!

I want to go back and try #1 and #2 on again at Cameo and bring a couple of my girlfriends along, but I won't make it back to Calgary until July 6. But, I do have to say - I am really leaning towards #1 - the more I think about it, the more I love it! stay tuned ....

  20. Amazing! you are incredible Courtney! I also can't wait to see what else you do! My wedding date is a day after yours - and I just put mine in the mail last week - glad to see we are on the same timeline I put March 2008 as the RSVP deadline - what did you do?

  22. Thank-you Matt! I truly appreciate both yours and Sol taking the time to post this info and help fight the fight! I am already an EDR bride to be (next may) and it is too late to back out. I love the resort, but know there will be some difficulties. I have the photographer problem solved already. Our photographers are coming down for the week as our guests. But what I was wondering is if you knew of any other potential problem areas or additional surprise fees! Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!
  23. You can always ask Simone - you never know. But I thought that generally the stores have to apply to be able to carry the stuff. S2 and Cameo - you both have to make appointments. Sonia's you don't. Do you know what lines/designers you are interested in? Have you been looking on line? I started by looking on line, then finding who sold dresses I liked and then going to that bridal salon. I knew I liked Trumpet style dresses or mermaid - so I always went in and asked to try on dresses that would give me that effect S2 - carries Watters, Pronovias, Cymbeline etc Sonias - pretty much the same plus Alfred Sung and a couple of others Cameo - carries Alvina Valenta, Jim Hjelm, Jasmine, Paloma Blanca, and a few others. Another store you may want to try out is the Parisian. Never been - but it is owned by the same owners as Cameo & Cufflinks. Also check out the Bridal Centre it's down in the general area of the new Ikea. tones of dresses and my girlfriends really liked it. They are also the only shop in Calgary to carry Maggie Sottero dresses. Good luck! let me know if I can help with anything!
