Hello Fellow Brides, We went to our cake tasting this past weekend and we have decided to do cupcakes for our reception indtead of a large "traditional" wedding cake. We are getting married in jamaica and then having a reception for (140 ish) 2 days after we get home to MI. So, does anyone know a good place to find a cupcake holder? I want to arrange the cupcakes to be in sort of the shape of a large wedding cake. 3 tiers high or something along that line. The bakery i am using has these really ugly plates that i dont like, so i am hoping to find something alot nicer. Thanks!

Hi Heidi, I am so excited to hear that you are getting married right around our dates! Its fun to share ideas and thoughts We decided on the Royal package. We have about 30 peolple coming and i was worried that if we booked the package just for 10 it would turn out bad...not enought chairs, etc.... Our date as of today is April 18th. Wouldnt that be great if you guys were there at the same time!!! I never had any safety issues with Jamaica. Since we have booked, we have met and talked to many different peole who have been to the CLUB RIU NEGRIL and they have all said GREAT things about it. The beach is beautiful!!! One of my best friends was born and raised in Jamaica. He grew up there and then moved on to Toronto, ON when he was 15. He now lives in Detroit (right near us) and we work together. He loves Jamaica and i love seeing the pictures, videos and hearing stories about Jamaica. There is something about that Caribbean lifestyle that interests me. Hello, Great to hear of another "maybe" Negril bride!!! We are getting married at the Club RIU in Negril. After many long hours of researching, the Club RIU was the best choice. The all inclusive prices are very affordable as well as they offer "kids for free"!! This was a big plus for us. We were trying to find a resort that even allowed children as i have 2 stading up in the wedding. The wedding packages are very affordable and everything is included! Hello, I purchased a dress from there and in January they quoted me: $35 plain hem - no beading $75 plain bussle, $100 french I think it all depends on what type of dress you get and how intricate the material is. If they need to re bead anything, then its gets really expensive.' hope this helps...

Thanks Christine, This was one of the first reosorts we looked at. Its nice, but very pricey. You pay for the Name.... When we priced it with our travel agency, it wound up at like $3,000-3,500 per couple. I saw the posting for the Rockhouse Negril, this is nice. (but once again NO Kids) If i could only find a Non Sandals in Jamaica resort that allows kids.....

Hello Everyone, I am trying to plan our wedding for April 18, 2008. We really like Jamaica but are having a really hard time deciding where to book. We would like: 1. An all inclusive resort (possbily including the wedding) (are these packages good?) 2. A resort that allows children. I have an 8 yr old and 10 yr old in the wedding. 3. Budget ~ $2000-2500 per couple for a week. Does anyone have any suggestions? I won the "grand prize" at a bridal show last month that included a certificate for 4 days/ 3 nights at Grand Lido Braco. We would like to use this after everyone goes home (as our honeymoon). Our reception is going to be here in MI after we get home. Thanks for your help!

Hello fellow RIU Brides. I have looked into and contacted the RIU reosrts in Jamaica for wedding information and pricing. I got an email this morning from them saying that they are not booking any weddings in 2008 yet. I have to wait untill April to contact them back again. They didnt even include any information or packages for 2007 for me to compare. Hs anyone out there had their wedding at one of these resorts that could help me with a little insight on pricing. I just need an idea to see if it is within our budget. Thanks for your help

Just like the rest of you, i have had a really hard time getting pricing or even a human to talk to on the phone. Does anyone know any wedding coordinators at that hotel?
