  1. My emails to Valeria are being returned to me this morning undeliverable... Has anyone else experienced this, or heard from her recently?
  2. I am putting a list of things to tell my guests to remember, and was wondering if there are things you guys can think of to include. So far I have: -Underwater camera -Water shoes (beach is rocky) -Sunscreen -$1.00 bills and small denominations -Long sleeves for evenings -Leave towels at home because resort provides them (don't waste the space)... Anything important that I am missing? I will be giving oot bags with all the goodies (tums, advil etc.)
  3. I know they sell the Reef sandals at Nordstrom's, and at the Buckle here at our local malls.
  4. We are thinking about either doing the reef sandals, or a pair of ray bans or oakley sunglasses. I am just afraid of picking out sunglasses for everyone.
  5. Well, we are considering having a violinist now, because it is 200.00 cheaper than the trio. This is what Valeria sent me today: You can have, Mariachi of 6 men with a 45 mins set for 900.00usd, Mexican Trio (45mins) 700.00us, Saxophonist (45mins) 500.00usd, also Violinist for 500.00usd (45mins)

    Aloha!

Hey there... I am a fellow Minnesota bride. Welcome to the forum.

Trace and I are leaving on the 14th, and the rest of our group is leaving the 17th. Our entire group is flying SunCountry on the sme flight. Too bad it wasn't the same flight, that would have been fun for the group! We have a really fub bunch coming with us! Did your daughter ever do her BD pics? I am having Jonathan Thrasher do them (he will be in Minneapolis) September 29th, and I bet he would give us a group discount.....
  8. Sarah... what do you think about starting a little side job for the forum and making them for us girls who just do not have enough time? I do not know the extent of these collages, but I have always really liked yours. I am not married yet, but I think I would be willing to let you do it for us! I am guessing you had to buy the software? So many of us girls went to people like aylee and creative montage for our monograms, because we just did not have the time to create or figure out how to make them! What do you think? Or if you are too busy.. maybe someone else would be interested?
  9. We sent out 100 invites, and 45 people are coming. Our entire group is flying on the same flight out of Minneapolis, except Trace and I. We are really happy with the turnout.
  10. good idea! So what about the women? I am assuming no flip flops, but I thought I read somewhere no capris, or even clam diggers. I wonder if a jean skirt would be ok? Tank tops?
  11. That makes me happy! The only thing I am worried about now is the dress code. I don't know how to explain to my guests what they can and can't wear. Valeria told me "leather" sandals were fine for the men, just no flip flops. So, I went and bought a pair of $95.00 Born Sandals, emailed her the picture, and she said they wouldn't allow him to enter the restaurants with them. I asked if it is because they go between the toes like a flip flop, and she said "not necessarily". I realize I could tell my guests all to bring a pair of dress shoes, but it being hot, and on vacation on at a beach resort, I don't think they will be very happy about that. Here are the sandals: Born Crouch (French Roast) - Born Men's Sandals Trace really likes them and said they are very comfortable to walk in.. he wore them to the state fair, and we did a lot of walking!
  12. One "personal" suggestion is to have a theme song, or perhaps your first dance song in the background rather than the wedding/church bells.
  13. I have this same question... we are thinking of renting the speakers for our reception, and maybe hiring a trio or something for the ceremony.
  14. I tried that, but can't hardly read the text.. I thought the actual file may be larger when you open it.
  15. OUr photographers will be coming with us and staying the 3 nights, and are also on our guest list. I have heard that the resort photographer is not that good, and theycharge 500.00 per hour...
  16. Thanks....I did write her but she's out of the office for a week. I guess I will be patient and wait.
  17. Do you guys have any information on how much cab rides are to Playa Del carmen and Cancun? We are wanting to add this to our letter we are sending, so any other helpful information would be great!
  18. I was just wondering... .for those who have done their BD photo shoots, did the photographer tell you how to pose, or did you just have to "wing" it? I hate having my picture taken, let alone "pose".. Did you bring in examples, or how does this work?
  19. Do you know someone who will do their measurements for free? Just beware of the size differences.... Good luck... I hope it works!
  20. No, I don't and that is why I dign't order from them. Also, a lot of places charge for taking measurements if you do not order from them- it was 20.00 here, so add that on to the price and they were more than I could find them locally. Also, be sure to have professional measurements taken because my bridesmaids who are normally about a size 6, ordered size 12 in this dress!! The place here where I got them for 108.00 was The Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul. I am not sure if it is a chain or not...

  22. Wholesale Blank Bags - Tote -JiffyShirts.com This is a great link for cheap bags....
  23. Mine is ivory too.. For those of you who are doing ivory, are your fiances wearing white or ivory?.... and are the groomsmen wearing white or ivory? I originally wanted their shirts to match my dress.... but am not sure the ivory shirts will look good next to tan pants. Any suggestions?
