What Extracurricular Activites Do You Do Together?

Before they did that, they put together about 80 pieces and sent them on an exhibit tour. I actually stood in the Art Institute in Chicago about 10 years ago and started crying because I was so much in awe. I was overwhelmed with the idea that I was standing close enough to touch a canvas that was once painted on by Monet and I just lost it. I'm a dork, I know.... -

We don't like to try odd foods though.), go to the movies, go to amusement parks (We love the big, crazy rides!), camp, take weekend trips (when he is home) to new places. Ummm...I am sure there are more. You? Wow! I think you mirrored exactly the same things we do!! I always tell Frank he has a good woman inside him because he is so great to go shopping with---- he's the one who picked all the paintings and wall-hangings for our kitchen a couple years ago. He has awesome taste! We hike too---- love taking the fur-baby out and watching her 'prance' around when we go hiking... We're both art freaks, so we love going to museums and seeing the traveling exhibits. We're huge foodies and love eating at new restaurants. We love going to movies too. Amusement parks we love, but he's the thrill-seeker and I'm the screamer. He always tells me he's taking us to Vegas for our honeymoon to hang off the Stratosphere. My response: "You'd better have some hellish drugs, a baseball bat to knock me out, or have taken me for hypnosis first!" Love camping and being outdoors and traveling! -

I remember getting yelled at by this one lady and then she said, "I HOPE YOU LOSE YOUR JOB!" and without thinking, I said back to her, "I HOPE I DO TOO!" That was the moment when I knew I had to get out of there!

Strangely, I'm tempted to suck up to you right about now for a job! This is the field I'm trying to get into because it's so similar to what I've been doing for the last 10 years (implementing, installing, training hardware)...

Frank is the manager of a call center that takes calls for Limited Too, Yankee Candle, Christmas Depot, and a couple other clients I can't remember offhand. He gets screamed at all day by pissy mothers who think their children are emotionally scarred and hate them for the rest of their lives because they didn't get their daughters didn't get their pretty little outfits in time for some birthday party or holiday. He hates his job and they abuse him even worse than my job....

Natasha's Excalibur Wedding
MikkiStreak replied to Natasha92907's topic in Destination Weddings in Las Vegas
Everything looks great so far! Love the chapel--- can't wait to see the reception area too! I remember the centerpieces you wanted to use and I think they are going to look great at the Excalibur!!! -
What is Everton's position/stand point on this issue? Is he aware they are backing out? How does he think you both should proceed?

Kelly, this absolutely sucks. This is one of my fears about some of FI's family---- they are exactly like this too and it drives me nute! I really hope something gets worked out, even tho I have no idea what! As for the bags---- give them a plastic sack and tell them they'll have to arrive in person in Jamaica to get the real thing!

Tasting & Touring Fees - anyway out of these?
MikkiStreak replied to NYJen's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I can understand a little bit about charging fees for some of the items---- but this is also something called "The cost of doing business"! That's insane about the $250 fee for viewing villas! That seems *really* expensive for someone to drive you around to view places. That would be like a realtor charging you for taking tours of properties... I'd argue the fees, especially the villa site fee---- if they want the business, they should be willing to make accommodations! Just tell them that some of the resorts offer a 2-3 night free stay just to get people on site to visit the resort and do their tastings in order to get their business... -
I did a little bit of a search, but wasn't finding anything with posts for actual AHR's from the married folks on here... I know there have been several posts about ideas from B2B's, but I think it would be neat to see photos of the AHR's that have been done and discuss what the married folk would have changed/kept in their AHR plans... Plus, it's something else where we can share photos and get ideas!

It was very pretty actually-- and very close to the color showing in the Amazon picture.... I wish they had the same style in a light blue and then I would have been set! But instead, I got blue backpacks for the single guy rooms that were $2.50 each...

I think also that your guests have to look at what they are being quoted--- most online resellers aren't including all the taxes and transport from airport to hotel and back. Also, I've heard nightmare stories about people using the online resellers and when they have a travel issue, they can't get it straightened out easily because all the calls go through call centers, instead of an individual representative. So you may book with an agent named Mary, but you wind up trying to argue your case with Peter, who may or may not believe you and do what's best for your guests. I also included on our website the fact that through our TA, there are little "perks" like her being able to book their golf or spa packages with a 10% discount.... or that by booking through our agent, they are now linked to our wedding and any preferred treatment extended to our guests by the hotel (upgrades/freebies) will include them. If they book elsewhere, they won't be linked to our wedding and any issues they have with the travel or resort, they will have to handle on their own.

Some people want a font mimicked. Other people just look at different styles and go with what they like (Gothic, basic, etc...). Hmmm.... maybe I should start looking into doing this! Might make some good side-income, even if I charged half the price they gave you!

My invites are going to be printed, so I would need someone to caligraphy (is that a verb?) the envelopes with name and address. Is the $1-2.25 for the name and address? That's what I'm assuming---- I just googled a calligraphy shop and there were some samples where they did the entire wording for the invitation. I would definitely think that would run a minimum of 2.25 just because I know from experience that hand-calligraphy would take at least 15 minutes per envelope. I just planned on doing my own envelopes because even thinking of doing 50 of the invitation wording is enough to make my hand go into convulsions from arthritis! I never really mimicked different fonts---- I got into it because in junior high art class, our teacher was making us do calligraphy and I hated the way the normal calligraphy looked---- so I started just using variations on my own handwriting and the teacher freaked out about good it looked.... started putting it into exhibitions, display cases, etc....
