Checked in with Tammy and she said the guy wouldn't reduce the price $3.50/each... he said those are his wholesale prices... So, I have the last of the orders in, and I'm going to forward the email to Ann tomorrow with the guy's information and the order spreadsheet. **NOTE: I did some checking on shipping rates from Minneapolis (area Ann lives in) out to the coasts, and it's around $10-11 for each shipment (without calculating packaging Ann would have to do). So I'm going to have each order shipped direct to the individual for $12 for each order. The exception will be the Canada girls---- those will go to Ann to be shipped out** Once we know what the tax rate will be, we'll give you the total and everyone can pay Ann direct. PREFERRED METHOD IS PAYPAL. If you need assistance regarding paying with Paypal, contact Ann on here and she can try to help you. Also, if you need to do another method of payment, contact Ann and arrange that directly with her. We'll get the order placed tomorrow and as soon as we know the dollar amounts, I'll PM everyone... If you have questions, let me know... Thanks everyone!!

Mayan Palace Brides- Post Here!

My photog suggested lining it with petals which would make a great photo op. Any suggestions? How about a lounge sofa out there---- it draws attention and also give guests someplace to go and chill away from the crowd for a few minutes---- or you could put some casual lounge furniture out there and some little signs saying "Photos" (next sign) "this" (next sign) "way" (next sign) "please".... and then have someone out there with a casual camera taking pictures of the people that come out to the jetty.... hehehe... -
Are you talking about just getting the wheelchair for while she's in the airport? Or getting one at the airport and using it the entire trip and returning it to the airport before she leaves? When my parents (wow, that really ages me and my parents) come to visit me (or used to, anyways), they would tell the airline in advance that they needed a wheelchair at the gate. Usually, when they checked their luggage in, they would notify the airline rep at the desk. When they landed, there would be an airport rep with a wheelchair waiting and they would escort my parents through the airport to the car waiting for them outside.

Martha, I don't think the Lindo/Maya releases their rates that far out. When we were looking at Jan 08 for our date, they didn't release the rates until almost May. I do know that you can reserve your date at the Lindo without having to put down a deposit and you don't have to pay a cancellation fee if you cancel the wedding there (unless you're within a couple weeks of your wedding date). Moon Palace offers the "free" wedding with either a 5 or 7 night stay by the couple. Our TA was going to get us a free cocktail hour if we booked a minimum of 10 rooms. (if I remember correctly). Even without the free cocktail hour, I remember thinking their rates weren't too bad. (The 18 room minimum hotel you're probably thinking of is Playa Fiesta up in PV...)
-
I would say to check out Moon Palace also. That was the first place our TA suggested and the only reason we crossed it out was that they do weddings every hour of the day. But I know some brides on here who had a great wedding there, and it has all the same features/amenities I know you're looking for... They can be very cost effective too because of the 'free wedding' and you can get perks through your TA for your room block.

At home is definitely a great idea---- something in the backyard in the evening with some strand lights, candles and just moving around the current potted plants from the yard---- might give a nice subdued, romantic feel... If it's family and a small group, I say go potluck! Nothing like some good home-cooking to celebrate!!
-
Put him in charge of the one here, then! I understand the reason why he'd want a small private ceremony here for his family---- if he has a good handle on the finances, then I say let him plan it!

IF there's still time to order mine, I was hoping for 12 red pashminas and 12 ivory ones (our colors are red, ivory and orange... I think). Not too late---- send me a PM with your name, shipping address and I'll add the quantities you listed to the order spreadsheet.

Yes, the order is still on. Only 1 person hasn't responded with specifics of what their order would be, so I'm taking them off the list and will send everything to your yahoo account later tonight Ann... I emailed the guy and told him that I would be forwarding his email and the ordering spreadsheet to you, and that you would actually place the order with your billing information... Sorry, it's been a crazy couple days and I hadn't updated this thread to let everyone know the order stuff will go to Ann later tonight when I get home... Thanks for doing this Ann!!!

Which Shoes?
MikkiStreak replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I always seem to have a different opinion than other brides---- but I like the first pair! I also agree though---- it would be easier to decide if we knew what the dress looks like... -

Jamie--- it's that as large as you are thinking. I was in there back in April to look at BM dresses and it wasn't any big deal. Just don't be deterred when you pull up and the window display is full of neon colored/hoochie quince dresses. We almost turned around when we saw that, but when we went inside, we found the exact style of BM I wanted (just the wrong color) and I found a bridal gown that I absolutely LOVE!!! -
Definitely! Just PM the details of your order and shipping address to me by Sunday and I'll get it on the list... For color selections, I'm going to order our wedding colors (light blue and fuschia). Even tho I know the women won't probably be wearing clothes the day of the wedding that would match this, I still think that if it gets chilly they will use them that evening, and once they get home with them, they will probably use them even more because they'll have their full wardrobe to match them with. I also figure that even though I'll have them kind of slung/tied around the dinner chairs, people can swap back and forth to get the colors they want too. Julie--- I think the 3 colors look great together and you could use any of the colors for the BM's.... Jilly--- If you're ordering black and white, choose the third color to match one of your wedding colors and then you won't go wrong. If you guys send me a PM with your addresses and quantities/colors (if you've already posted them just now, I'll pull the info from here), I'll put together a spreadsheet that can be used in the email to place the order. Also, if you have a large enough quantity and want it shipped to you direct (instead of re-shipping through Ann), make a note of that in the PM also. Once I get all the order information together (cut-off date of Sunday night!), I'll get together with Ann and the guy at the company so we can place the order...
